Free of glasses at last
Having become more and more reliant on glasses over time and never really liking how I looked in them I decided to look into other options and lens replacement seemed the way to go for me.
Right from the beginning I felt I was in safe hands with David Anderson and his team. He talked me through all my options and I decided to go for trifocal lens replacement. Naturally I was pretty nervous on the day of my surgery but again David Anderson was very calming and I was amazed how quick the procedure was.
Several months on I now have 20/20 vision and couldn’t be happier .

I had extreme axial myopia (-12+) since birth, along with astigmatism, and then cataracts further degraded my sight. I was referred Mr David Anderson, who recommended IQ lens implants. The procedure was painless, and within 24 hours, my vision was a revelation. Clarity, colour, and field of vision were amazing. The Service I received from the beginning to the end was exemplary and all staff were, without exception, very welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating and I highly recommend Anderson Eyecare to anyone with an eye problem

Exceptional expertise with Mr Anderson at the Nuffield Wessex Hospital ,he is highly experienced in cataract surgery which I needed as I have very severe myopia -15 and have had to wear glasses for 70 years, which he explained was because my eyes were 28mm wide instead of 23 mm . Refractive Lens Exchange
My consultation with Mr Anderson, put my mind at ease with his professional and personable calm manner.
He explained the procedure and different options in great detail.
On the day of the operation I was a little apprehensive, but all the staff were reassuring.
The operation itself went without any issues, I had a care package to take home.
My follow up appointment eye test showed my vision was 20/20 + and I can read N4 on the chart.
Mr Anderson was delighted. I am glasses free and completely satisfied with the outcome.

I was really nervous prior to the operation, however, there was no need. Had both eyes done on the same day. Absolutely painless and I felt relaxed throughout. Better than the dentist!

Mum is 87 years old and has had ongoing…
Mum is 87 years old and has had ongoing corneal inflammation due to shingles for many years. She was advised that she would benefit from cataract surgery to both eyes as her eyesight was failing. She is frail and has memory issues and we decided to go with Mr Anderson and his team for the surgery to make it easier for her and to get the procedure done at the best time for her. I am glad we chose this route and glad that we chose Anderson Eyecare. Everything went seamlessly and her care was exemplary from initial consultation to follow up. Everything was explained and nothing too much trouble. She was treated with care and respect. Her vision continues to improve and her quality of life remarkably better. Amazing results
Excellent care, kindness and the best treatment. After wearing glasses for shortsightedness during the last 40 years, the results are amazing. I had very blurry vision in both my eyes that came on very quickly over a few months which I found very scary.
After doing some research and looking at reviews I decided to make an appointment with Mr Anderson and I am so glad that I did. I rang his office and the lady that i spoke to was so helpful and very informative about what would happen at my consultation appointment.
I saw Mr Anderson at the Nuffield hospital and he quickly and very efficiently diagnosed me with Cataracts .He then took the time to discuss and explain my options throughly.
A week later I had cataract removal from both my eyes and tri focal lenses fitted.The staff at the Nuffield hospital were so kind and caring and although i was nervous, Mr Anderson was so calm and confident I knew I was in the right hands.The procedure to remove my cataracts and replace my lenses was so much easier than I was expecting, it was completely pain free and within 30 Minutes I was back in my room eating my lunch!
I now have perfect vision and the added bonus of not needing glasses has been completely life changing for me and I could not be happier.
I would highly recommend Mr Anderson and his fantastic team.

My gratitude towards Dr. Anderson goes beyond what words can express. He is an exceptionally skilled ophthalmologist, a true expert, and an incredibly kind and dedicated professional.
From start to finish, he made me feel safe, informed, and genuinely cared for. He personally sees every patient before and after surgery — and that alone says a lot about how committed and amazing he is.
I had long lists of questions (I always want to know every detail), and he answered each of them calmly and thoroughly. He explained all the steps, reassured me, and gave me the confidence I needed to go through with it. His belief in me gave me strength — and the results were beyond my expectations.
The procedure itself? Absolutely no pain at all. The laser part is actually amazing — you just lie back, relax, stare at a green light, then a white light. I imagined myself in a place I love, and before I knew it, it was done. So quick. So smooth.
I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Nurse Annie as well. She is simply wonderful. She held my hand during the procedure, explained the eye drops routine clearly and kindly. Her warmth and sense of humour made the whole experience so much easier.
Just a day and a half after the surgery, I came in for my first follow-up — and I was over the moon when I was told that my vision was already better than the legal standard for driving. It is just incredible!
My case wasn’t simple. I had high astigmatism, myopia and one of my eyes is a lazy eye, on top of that — and for my entire life (until now), I struggled to see clearly in the distance. I hated wearing glasses and avoided them whenever I could. Even worse, every optician (and some doctors) told me that astigmatism couldn’t be treated. I lived with that frustration for years.
Now, I can see clearly without any aid. It still feels surreal. I only wish I had found Dr. Anderson sooner. This was truly a life-changing experience!
Thank you immensely for giving me back my vision! I highly, wholeheartedly, and confidently recommend Dr. Anderson to anyone. If you're afraid of laser eye surgery — don't be. Just go and see Dr. Anderson You won’t regret it!

Do not hesitate...
From the moment I met Mr Anderson I felt reassured and confident. I am terrified of anything eyes, and cannot even stand a fly getting in my eye without crying. After all you only get one set of eyes and they cannot just be replaced. So Lasik presbyond was a massive step for me. However, I was so tired of my glasses steaming up, rain on my glasses, not being able to tell which was shampoo or conditioner in the shower, working the gym locker keypad by pattern not sight, and generally feeling 'old'. I can unreservedly say that the procedure was easier than an eye test at the optician. I felt totally relaxed in theatre, "just look at the green light", that's it. No pain. As soon as I left the hospital, and got my lift home I was able to read the smallest of print form an old book that was in the car door pocket. It was incredible, like a miracle. I would advise anyone without hesitation to have this treatment.

Top eye surgeon - top results - what more could you wish for?
With a prescription of -8.75 and complete frustration with opticians who could never give me acceptable near and far vision, I consulted Mr Anderson. He exudes professional knowledge and ability, together with friendly and approachable calmness and humour. I had the choice of waiting until my cataracts became really bad and go with the NHS, or have my vision dramatically improved and cataracts permanently removed by a top eye surgeon. I opted for complete sedation, due to feeling very anxious. One minute we were laughing, the next, I was being told I was back in my room. Every day after the operation my sight grew clearer and sharper, each time being a surprise that there was more definition. I had bought loads of painkillers in preparation. I took none. I had two follow up appointments to check all was well and am so grateful for those, for reassurance and to be able to thank Mr Anderson for this freedom from lenses and thick glasses. I do not need glasses for any purpose. His team - Olivia and Kim to mention two, are amazing, so helpful, reassuring and always ready to listen.

My experience at David Anderson’s clinic at the Nuffield Wessex was amazing, and I felt incredibly well looked after from day one. A life changing experience…
Earlier this month I had YAG laser surgery performed by David Anderson on both my eyes. It has been remarkably successful. I had a problem with misty eyes after cataract surgery the previous year. Now everything appears remarkably clear. I had not expected such an amazing improvement as I am in my nineties. I am now back to reading and sewing and feel confident enough to cross the road again.

Lens Replacement
I decided to have lens replacement through David Anderson Eye Care after much deliberation. The main reasons being not wanting to wear glasses anymore.
I was at the stage where I was reluctant to pay year on year for prescription glasses, and was trying to manage with off the shelf reading glasses, but knew I was on a losing battle as computer work was becoming more blurred, I couldn’t see a thing on my phone, or read books, but because I didn’t need glasses for distance, I was constantly taking them on and off.
One of my hobbies is long distance walking and map reading was a real pain with glasses.
Mr Anderson talked me through the whole process with information I understood, and whilst not an easy decision to make, it was one I was determined to do.
6 weeks after the op, I am delighted to say that I completed a 5 day trek on the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, minus glasses.
If you are considering this type of surgery, I would not hesitate in recommending Mr Anderson.

Literally life changing!
Literally life changing! I do a lot of active sports like sailing and mountain biking. After 25 years of contact lenses or glasses my vision is now perfect and so clear compared to before even when wearing my glasses or lenses. Mr Anderson was awesome, fully understood what we were trying to achieve, mission accomplished! In my case a double refractive lens exchange as early cataracts were forming, the whole thing went really smoothly, thank you!
