Recently had a claim accepted for mental health to have 10 sessions with a psychologist. I received multiple emails with AXA to confirm who I can use and given correct claim numbers to provide for the sessions to be carried out.
After two 2 x sessions I received an invoice for AXA to pay for these services as they are not covered within my plan.
Thought this was slightly strange so rung through to AXA to clarify why I had been sent the invoices, after 20 minutes on hold and passed through to different teams I was advised my type of policy isn't covered. I was advised they would honour and pay for the 2 x sessions as this was their mistake but the further 8 sessions wouldn't be covered and would have to pay for these myself.
I have now been advised a full complaint has been put in but they have 8 weeks to investigate and come back to me, totally unacceptable lead time.
I shouldn't be left out of pocket for a mistake on AXA's behalf, I pay a lot of money for my policy and for this to happen is total disgrace.

My claim enquiry was delt with quickly and good turnaround and guidance. What I would suggest it it was hard to navigate around the website when i wanted to ask a question, to check i was entitles to a claim,

Go with Bupa if you have a choice!!
Been trying to double charge me excess for months because I had a mammogram and a consultant appointment on the same day....
Finally the hospital have stopped chasing me and have obviously chased AXA.... who have just asked me for payment!! Despite months of messaging promising to sort it out. AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
I went into the app to authorise a different appointment and now can't get in.
I miss my Bupa cancer team. It was so easy, slick and kind. Axa is just pants on customer (patient) service.

I am fortunate enough to have access to AXA through my employment. I was paying into it for well over 10 years and I never needed to use it however..... over the last 18 months my daughters have been struggling with mental health, I have had to use the the service for CBT, Psychiatrist appointments, and they have just added autism and adhd assesment. both my children have used this service and been diagnosed with autism. The only help I have really got is privately through axa as the NHS is in an absolute mess. I dont know where we would be now without this service as there was a genuine risk my daughter could have taken her own life..... thank you axa !

LONG HOLD UP ON CALLS
I am disgusted that for 25 years I am trapped with this DAMN CO
As with my Injury if I move to another Health Insurance they will only allow re continuation to support my Back issuse after 1 year of NO CLAIM.
Often the therapist's they suggest in Phone DO NOT ACCEPT AXA PATIENTS as they too are disgusted for the long hold up's !

They pay the therapist's after long time and huge amount of paper work they have to send for A CLAIM.
The Call handlers DO NOT HAVE UPTO DATE LIST OF DOCTOR'S OR THERAPIST'S..
Many times the list of Consultants they give have stopped Practising for 3 to 4 years to that hospital..
That's how OUTDATED Axa's list is!!
Then I am left to call them again and GO BACK TO LONG WAITING GAME.
And listen to the same boring music and apology message that they are VERY BUSY,.
The staff claim they have 400 call handler's !! What a FAT LIES !
ITS A DAMN SWEET PRISON that I am STUCK WITH !!

I have been a customer of AXA Health Insurance for 5 years with NO any claim. The premiums of AXA health insurances may be relatively lower than other insurance companies, but the flexibility of coverages is lesser, and the options of their recognised hospitals are so limited, only one private recognised hospital in a big city - Birmingham.
Their customer services are ok but not good enough. And they always require customers to talk with them over the phone regarding any enquiries or changes about policy issues and/or claim issues, but their phone lines are often busy. They don't provide text messages or online chats, this makes the hearing impaired people embarrassed and difficult to have smooth communication with them.
