Excellent hands on bread making courses
I have now completed two courses with Jack, the Italian Bread course in June 2025 and the French Bread course in July 2025. After enjoying both so much I have already booked onto the Easter Breads course for 2026.
I originally discovered Jack through Instagram and liked the look of his teaching style straight away. When I looked at the website the full day experience and the value for money made it an easy decision to book.
Each class runs for around six hours and includes a lunch prepared by Jack, which was a really nice touch. The format works really well. Jack demonstrates first and then everyone gets hands on making the breads themselves. He is always on hand to help and guide people through the process.
Jack is a funny, knowledgeable and very patient teacher. What I particularly enjoyed was how he explains the science and techniques behind bread making as well as the recipes. It means you actually understand what you are doing rather than just following steps.
The class is well paced and very accessible for beginners, but still interesting enough if you already bake bread at home.
The teaching kitchen is laid out brilliantly with the workspaces facing the ovens so everyone has a clear view of the demonstrations. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with no pressure, but the class is still structured so you cover everything properly.
All ingredients and equipment are provided, and you receive the full recipes on the day so you can make notes and take them away. The breads we made looked fantastic and tasted amazing. I have since made them again at home with the same success.
The venue itself is easy to find and there is plenty of parking.
Overall the courses are extremely good value for money and I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys bread or wants to learn how to make it properly in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
