Arrived in excellent condition. Exactly what I ordered (pair of 45's). Good price and good looking. Shipping was extremely fast (and free) and the plates were well packed. Very satisfied!

I will give them 5 stars. Delivery was fast and I got what I ordered. I am very pleased with the service. The only thing that was wrong what is that I am sure someone had drop the weight and there was a little chip in one of them. I am sure I did not come from the company that way probably through delivery.

I usually stick with Rogue or Rep Fitness and believed in this company and found a number of uncommon problems that made me very concerned.

Pros:
- Price is almost unbeatable due to a 10% discount code I received and the free shipping.
- The finish seems to be decent compared to all the other companies around this price range and style of plates.

Cons:
- Plates claimed to be milled and have a 2% tolerance. This was not what I found the plates to be. Found some 45s to be around as low as 42 lbs. This isn’t a big issue with a few plates but after more than 4 are on a side this can have the bar be +/- 5-10 lbs off which can be very dangerous.I have also noticed that these plates were originally from AD4M. This made it odd because the plate on the website that is shown to be weighed at tolerance does not have the logo and is from a different manufacturer.
- Customer Support is far below average. Spoke to a rep to return my plates at the PA site and after emailing him about the process he has not responded since. Asked about my shipment and still no response. Moreover, I wanted to speak to a live person but the customer support number cannot be reached and says the voicemail box has been filled.
- FedEx also should have my last plate at my house 3 days ago and nothing has updated on the site and still says pending. I do not know if they lost it, but this is very strange since they offered 2-3 day shipping and my whole order arrived either early or a day later.

Barbell Standard could be more reputable if they inspected and weighed the plates prior to sending them out. If the plates tolerance was true to your “guarantee” I wouldn’t have questioned anything, but the customer support to the false advertising led me to believe otherwise.

In hopes that this catches their attention to the numerous emails I have sent. I hope that I will eventually get my money back even though I do not know what stage I am in the return process. If not, I am stuck with plates that I do not even want.

Update: They worked with me to have the plates returned. Customer Service was delayed but true to their word. The plates are pretty good quality, delivery is fast, but QA should weigh the plates to ensure the 2% weight tolerance or at least guarantee a higher tolerance.

Ordered plates, accidentally put in wrong information. Their customer service was quick and my product arrived within a couple days. I couldn’t be happier!

Ordering was fast and the item arrived within the estimated time frame, BUT, the barbell was poorly wrapped with just some plastic. Not the best way to protect it.

Amazing price, Amazing speed, Amazing product. I searched used and new equipment and somehow stumbled on Barbell Standard .com. Their price was better than any new equipment and the quality was not manufacturers rejects, like some in this price range, but straight from the factory high quality stuff. Feel safe in dealing with these guys.

Plates look great and are exactly what I ordered. Had a bit of a snafu with the delivery process… As FedEx left one of the plates on their truck during delivery. Fortunately that plate and a second order were both delivered the following day.

Fast processing and shipping. Ordered on Friday and first of 2 45lb plates arrived Sunday. The 2 star rating is due to the actual weight of the weight plates. Both plates were outside 2% tolerance guarantee stated on there website. One was 43.8lb and the other 47.4lb (over 5% off). So now I have a weight difference of 3.6lb between one side of a barbell and the other! I emailed barbell standard, no response I called and left a voicemail, no response. Other companies like York and Rogue are putting weight tolerance guarantees on plates and honoring them. Their plates are in the same price range as barbell standard.

Update: they sent a new plate to replace the one 5% out of range within a week of my initial review and it is 45.5 lbs. They were very quick to process and send the plate free of charge. It’s not that the one plate was too high. My problem was that one was high and the other low so that you get a 3.5 lb imbalance from just 2 plates loaded on the bar. If they guarantee that each pair of plates sold will be within 4% weight of each other it might work out better. Fewer issues and fewer factory rejects which might lower costs.

Everything was good until part of my order was lost in transit. I spent a considerable amount of money on this order, and FedEx lost one piece of it. Okay---understandable. It happens. I contacted them, and they said to wait. A couple days goes by, they filed a claim with FedEx. Over a week goes by....no update.

If FedEx hasn't found your package after a week, they lost it. Then the customer service personnel tell me that they will refuse to do anything until FedEx closes their claim.

So i'm supposed to wait God knows how long, for the carrier that THEY chose, to refund them. Meanwhile i'm sitting here waiting and waiting for my product that should have been delivered over a week ago. And instead of sending new plates & telling FedEx to return the product to them IF they find it, Barbell Standard refuses to do anything.

Oh and on top of that, they implied that i was trying to scam them out of merchandise and were pretty unprofessional in their responses. They can tell FedEx to return the product to the sender IF it is found, which is highly unlikely; but God forbid, i get an extra pair of 25 lb plates. OH NO, THE HORROR!

You would a reputable company would send you your product, and deal with the carrier on their end. But no, i get punished as the consumer because FedEx messed up. And in the end, i'm basically told to kick rocks.

I cannot in good faith recommend this company to anyone i know, and will not be purchasing anything from them again.

Quality of plates are worthy of praise. Unfortunately order processing seems rather slow, and FedEx of course held true to their typically embarrassing standards. Should be able to expect a little more when paying such a high cost for shipping. Good product however.

Just received my pair of 45 lb plates. Excellent quality, affordable, and delivered quickly considering the Pandemic. Will definitely order from Barbell Standard again. 👍💪
