Absolutely delighted with my recent experience purchasing online from Basecamp. I was trying to track down a Montbell down jacket for my son and came across Basecamp's website. At first I wasn't sure if it was genuine as a lot of product descriptions are populated with "we haven't yet decided what we think of this item", however I checked out reviews and got the reassurance I needed to go ahead. Pricing was good but the customer journey from purchase was even better. I ordered on a Sunday and my item was dispatched via Royal Mail Tracked 48 the next day (given this was following Black Friday sales, an extremely impressive achievement!) My item should have arrived on Wednesday so on Thursday I dropped the team an email to see if they could provide an update on shipping. Rob went over and above, phoning Royal Mail multiple times to try and get an update and keeping me informed every step of the way. The coat has now arrived and my son absolutely loves it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this highly efficient company who have been a pleasure to deal with.

I ordered an outdoor jacket that would ordinarily be in the upper price segment, but was heavily discounted at Basecampgear. 60% off, or so, even more when comparing to Swiss prices. I even thought maybe I'm beeing fooled somehow. But nope. I got the tracking details really quick, and 4 days later the jacket arrived in Switzerland, nicely packed. Could not be happier with the whole process.

Paid £400 for two jackets....these were passed off as current collection but labels inside show the items are 4 years old from 2018 stock...if they are legitimate items that is as quality rather poor compared to originals. First time using this company, really poor experience. Have advised they will refund but not postage..have yet to see what will happen! Postage expensive as costly items. I would not have wasted my time had the items been as described. Please do not make the same mistake..I cannot unfortunately recommend this company.

A company that believes the customer is always wrong.

Purchased an item from this company only to be hit with additional customs and import charges on delivery. The company admitted that they failed to notify customers of this on their website. The excuse being that they run two website and the customer information was incorrect on one of them.

It's up to the customer to accept the additional costs and delays. This obviously goes against trading standards. Customer service from Lois was shocking.

Avoid buying from these dishonest people.
