⭐ 1-Star Review: Unsafe Property, False Accusations, and Deeply Unprofessional Conduct

I booked this property expecting a simple, comfortable stay, but what I experienced was completely unacceptable on every level.

The apartment was noisy at all hours due to ongoing construction work in the flat directly above — something that was never disclosed before booking. The constant drilling and banging made it impossible to rest. On top of that, the en suite had a persistent, unpleasant smell that clearly hadn’t been addressed before my arrival.

These issues alone would have been disappointing, but the situation escalated into something far more serious.

During my stay, there was a break‑in. This was frightening and left me feeling unsafe in the property. I immediately reported the incident and provided a full Spanish police report. Strangely, nothing belonging to the apartment itself was taken — only our money, tech items, and a bag. Given the host’s reaction afterwards, I genuinely found myself questioning whether this was an unfortunate coincidence or something more concerning.

Instead of offering support or taking responsibility for the security of the accommodation, the host responded with hostility, dishonesty, and behaviour that I found disgraceful. I was spoken to like a child, dismissed, and treated with a complete lack of respect. Their communication was rude, unprofessional, and at times felt frankly fraudulent.

They branded me a liar, called me a fraud, and even accused me of fabricating both the noise issues and the break‑in in an attempt to get a “free holiday.” They bombarded me with rude, aggressive messages, yet repeatedly ignored my actual questions and legitimate concerns. On the rare occasions they did respond, it was only to send more accusations rather than address anything I had asked.

They also falsely claimed that we had left urine‑soaked mattresses and sheets in an attempt to justify keeping my security deposit — an accusation that was entirely untrue and completely unsupported. After I reported the break‑in, they even threatened legal action against me, despite the fact that I had followed all proper procedures and provided official documentation from the police.

The combination of unsafe conditions, misleading information, poor communication, and false accusations turned what should have been a straightforward trip into an incredibly stressful ordeal. I’ve had to file a formal complaint and am now awaiting a resolution.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this property. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and encourages the host to take accountability, improve the safety of the accommodation, and stop making false claims against guests.

They keep your deposits

They make you walk about a mile to pick up the keys for the apartment
And then you have to drop them off at the same place at the end of your stay
Terrible service
But the worst thing was they kept our €200 deposit saying we broke the lock on the front door Which is news to us
Obviously we were in the room all week and was able to get in and out and lock the door each time with no problem
Two weeks after I got home I noticed the deposit had not been returned as promised
They told me it can take a little bit longer And nothing was mentioned about the alleged broken lock
Five weeks later I contacted them again about my deposit, which is when they told me about the lock
This has happened to a few people as it appears in these reviews
So it's obviously a scam is being had to keep deposits
I have asked to see the receipt for the damaged lock and the repair bill, they just ignore my emails now obviously because the lock was not broken and therefore did not need to be fixed
Avoid these Cowboys like the plague
You have been warned

Don't trust them

Don't trust them! Mum and me booked an apartment in advance. She booken her flight from Holland, I would go by car as I live in Spain. Two days before arrival, and in my case the night before I was leaving, I got an email saying there were problems with the apartment as they were renovating the building. That same night the apartment was canceled. There I was, car packed, flight booked and no accommodation. Incredible. I called them. They said I should claim in Booking, not with them. So far, I know nothing, it seems nobody is working at the weekend, they don't care about your holiday.

NEVER STAY HERE

Terrible service didn’t have a door handle to get back into hotel room from balcony and said to us the hot tub was new which was a bath tub outside and it was broken the radio kept going off and if you got water got in it (which it did) as it rained one day and the head rest was torn very badly and it broke slightly and tried to blame us for it and charged us £160 for a bloody head rest so they wouldn’t give us our deposit back (which was 200 euros) air bnb did resolve the issue. Check in was very late as they didn’t get the key back off previous customer and we had to wait around for ages and said they had luggage storage for our last day but they didn’t they knew somewhere that charged you loads to use it. So pretty much a lot of bad service and a lot of lying and was very rude to me over air bnb chat would stay away from them.

Insensitive and Cold

We booked a stay here and several weeks before our stay, we asked for a small date change (to keep the same stay length but push back our arrival date by one day) for my mum’s 50th birthday.

We had a small change of our arrival date due to a family matter and had seen that the apartment we booked was available the following night so thought they would be understanding enough to move our stay by one day, especially when the apartment was available and we had given several weeks’ notice, but they declined us this flexibility - rather coldly.

I think that this shows a complete insensitivity on their part and I would not trust them if they are unable to exercise some flexibility on good faith on a simple matter - they have availability, we just wanted to move our three-night stay by one day, and we gave almost 4 weeks notice to try to get this date change. Very poor.

Stayed in an apartment on Poniente…

Stayed in an apartment on Poniente beach Benidorm for 26 days over Christmas and the New Year 23/24.Apart from the website, which could be a little clearer we had a great experience. Changes of Bedding/towels was seamless, just a WhatsApp request. Apartment was very good with an excellent location (front line) and brilliant wifi. Staff in the Poniente Office were helpful and cheerful. Only major issue was the damage deposit refund. Benidorm Booking were insisting it was paid back on the 11th of Jan, but it did not show in my current account. Cutting the story short it was down to my bank. I had set up a travel wallet but not used it. As the refund was in Euros it went there. Neither the bank or I could find the funds. In reality it was not BB's fault but mine/the bank. I recommend Benidorm Booking and will use again

booked Coblanca V 15-4.Benidorm.10 sep 23 key had to be changed hard to work.Put my case under air com leaked over all my holiday stuff .2 guys came they fixed it but no safe had to hide my stuff.Then they said could more people look around appartment they want to buy it hide are stuff again.shower grid i needed clean or would have leaked .booking .com people said they would look at compansion they blanked me

I recently booked an apartment through theses for a holiday, on arrival into our room we found the air conditioning unit in the bedroom leaking so we had too keep a bucket underneath it , and in the front room the sofa bed was broken and kept collapsing at the front of , I complained too the office and they said they would send somebody out to it , we went out for the day and we came back it was still the same so i phoned the office again and they said someone had been out and fixed both problems but they clearly had , after constantly complaining and getting nowhere i gave up and we just kept a bucket under the aircon unit and put a chair underneath the front end of the sofa bed to keep it propped up , stay well clear of this company 🤬🤬

Excellent customer sevice

This was the second year running I've used Benidormbooking for holiday lets and the whole process of booking through to collecting the keys was made very easy with friendly staff who spoke excellent english. Great choice of holiday lets and both the apartments I stayed in were spotlessly clean and well equipped.
