Betfair used to be a sound ethical betting exchange but my recent experience is shocking - I had a bet matched and even photographed the evidence 5 minutes after the race finished as I was concerned I had not been paid out.....but they still refuse to payout with lots of different excuses/reasons (Which they keep changing) The support is very poor and wholly designed so you cannot get help with such issues and they refuse to email or accept emails - their complaints procedure is designed to make you give up as there is layer after layer of hurdles to cross - I will be reporting them to the betting ombudsman as well as making a claim through the small courts - my days with this dreadful company are sadly over - they are nothing but a bunch of crooks- they don't deserve custom they are scammers of the highest order - Punters beware

Pathetic.. qualified for free bets all week long, but CANNOT actually use em.. an absolute rip off..stay away from betfair they always find a way to screw people over! Always under pay, winming bets disappear from betting history, and they dont pay out. Don’t use this site. Be warned.

Betfair is an excellent platform to place bets on. I had used the platform mainly to place lay bets. Depositing and withdrawing funds is simple and straightforward. As is placing bets.
I cannot understand the negative comments about the site. I had a £10,000-£30,000 account and no problems depositing/withdrawing/placing bets and was never "gubbed"

Sadly Betfair today is a very poor shadow of the sportsbook it once was in its pre-Paddy Power days. I was "gubbed" very quickly for winning too much (from a betting exchange!!), and the Customer Support is a waste of time. If you do manage to locate the well-hidden Live Chat and successfully bypass the chatbot, the sole purpose of which seems to be to deter clients from pursuing legitimate enquiries, the actual human reps there keep you waiting for ages in the hope that you will log off and then become rude and unhelpful when you don't.

At 5% commission there are better exchanges around - Betdaq, Smarkets and Matchbook to name just three. Don't bother with it other than perhaps as an emergency back-up to get you out of a situation, bearing in mind the liquidity is still probably better than that of other exchanges. But I can only see Betfair heading in one direction unless it can recapture its former appeal, and it seems most uninterested in even trying to do so.

Contact a company called Resolver about the betfair scam.

They will happily take your first deposit but then suspend your account. Compliance....., I understand but when you send in the right documents that they say are not acceptable(but other companies say are fine) they don't let you know and leave you hanging for weeks. Its been 3 weeks trying to get my money out. Rubbish customer service. Use a good company and stay away from these thieving low lifes.

After winning around £4000 GBP I've been targeted, account restricted - awful experience. Customer service is useless !!! They won't bother about you if you loose money, but they definitely will restrict you from playing simply because you are winning.

Betfair was my favourite app for betting for many years. However my experience today with online help confirmed my belief it is going downhill on Customer support. The Help Desk wanted info I did not have for a free spins win which was ridiculous. I have closed my account!!

I've been with Betfair for 10-15 years. I find the site to be excellent. But I'm moved to post a review about the Spa Grand Prix, which for all intents and purposes never took place. They have settled my bets as "lost" hiding behind the F1 classification of a "race" and a podium for a 4 lap procession. You really could not make this stuff up. No contest whatsoever. Its tantamount to give Man Utd the win after a warm up before kick off just before the match is abandoned. The usual large organisations pocketing the profits and ignoring the principles that I actually thought Betfair had until this afternoon. I'll be closing my account forthwith.

After 1 and a half hours in chat they have awarded me a £15 bet. Which covers the loss. However, this still does not address the losses that other punters have placed in good faith. FIA are a disgrace as are the decision makers at the top of Betfair.

Signed up for promotion, verified my account, let me deposit and done my bet which won but was waiting for it to settle, then my account has been deleted, had to go on live chat to see what the heck went on. They said
Betfair and paddy are now merged together and I apparently have been banned from paddy despite not using them for years as I moved to sky bet, as this is the case Betfair deleted my account and told me not to bother with them or paddy and took my money. Never even had a Betfair account before either and will never advise people to use them after this, absolute cons! They let everyone sign up no matter what just to take your money then delete you later on!

bonus didnt appear from sign up, no option to claim it. customer service advised i didnt opt in but i checked promotions and there was no claim button. just a ploy to get you to sign up!

Worst customer service, no follow up emails or confirmations on requests to delete the account, their proof of identity requests are perversely intrusive and ask for too much information pushing the line of identity theft. They allowwed me to make a bet before my account was suspended and I have been unable to unlock my account as I have serious concerns about the legality and SECURITY of the information being asked of me to provide. Strongly advise against these people.

Blocked me out of their promotions on Sportsbook, no reasoning, live chat informed me this can not be reviewed or challenged. Disgusting customer care. Avoid at all costs.

Been betting with Betfair for years, betting and laying, making a steady profit year on year. Get a call today restricting my deposit limit to a ridiculously small amount, pretty much stopping me doing what I’ve being doing for years. Semi retired with a good pension and loads of savings, but £15,000 a year for part time work isn’t enough for Betfair to let me bet to a decent level on there site. Gutted, looks like it’s back to Smarkets.

I’ve been betting with Betfair for years and never had a single problem. I love the exchanges for sports betting, it’s the best betting platform by a million miles.
I see so many bad reviews here but my experience has only been positive.

I am giving 4 stars just for the exchange site. Sportsbook is good but so is any other sportsbooks. I dont do much Casino. They have best odds and have the most number of events for the exchange than any other sites. And exchanges are very exciting ways to play in its own right. Not as many markets in exchange as in their fixed odds but still plenty enough to find your odds. Also their sportsbook, its more feature rich than most others out there. Over the usual built builder they have lots on. accumulator options . I like the Acca Edge feature which I hope is there to stay. I bet for recreational purposes only as this platform is decent.

Scumbags! Let you sign up, deposit, bet and then suspend your account. Verified me when I signed up and said I’m fully verified, then win £5 on a bet and accounts suspended and need to produce documentation I don’t have. Awful company, same as paddy power. Thieves
