Ordered 5 bottles of Limoncello to Ireland and it arrived one day ahead of first 'predicted' delivery 👏 For me - fantastic service from ease of online ordering, communication with updates about the order, and receiving the package via DHL. Customs and duties were included as stated, so no issues there. This was my first time ordering with them - and I'll be a repeat customer for sure now! Bottega Alcolico sending and resending instructions to sign for courier receipt “With Reserve” otherwise “your responsibility” for damage? In the end there wasn’t any signature req’d as courier dropped the package at my doorstep, rang the doorbell and ran?
I understand why as issue of packaging is 100% on Bottega Alcolica as the box used has Fragile preprinted on each end but when the box was taped, the tape covered over the Fragile words on both ends - totally incompetent.
This expensive bottle of scotch comes in a presentation sleeve from the manufacturer (open front and back) and instead of using proper wrapping material like bubble wrap this was wrapped in very little crumpled waxed brown paper and set into a cardboard box that was too small to add more paper and of course the heavy bottle easily dislodged from the presentation sleeve and made a mess of the nice cardboard presentation sleeve but luckily the bottle did not break. Then it would have somehow been my fault… Again such poor packaging is total incompetence. Instead of sending many emails about what I should do when accepting the shipment you guys really need to focus on packaging properly!!! Basic stuff.
