We thought this performance of The Tempest was so dire that we left at half time, feeling angry and disappointed.
The company took away all the magic of The Tempest and added stupid gimmicks which added nothing to the play whatsoever. I am not against different interpretations and presentations of Shakespeare but this production mangled the text, altered the personalities of the main characters and robbed the play of its most powerful and magical elements.
This play should not open with a domestic scene comprising characters I could barely recognise with the exception of Miranda, who did her best to rescue the situation. Comedy was provided by seeming members of the audience scrambling over people to become part of the action on stage but this device soon wore thin. The monster Caliban, a rather tragic character in the play had no charisma whatsoever and the ethereal Ariel was a frumpy rather truculent woman. The notes on the production talked about blurring the difference between audience and players on stage, but the price was too high; the result was a tedious confusing production which was not worth watching. An expensive mistake on my part not to read reviews before booking .

From the helpful courteous staff, to the beauty of the theatre and the truly mesmerising performance of Mayerling my experience was perfect. I would truly recommend the Royal Opera House it's staff and company to anyone and everyone. Thank you for an awesome visit which I appreciated even more as I was a lone patron and still felt completely comfortable.

Great show. Not what I expected but I loved it. Modern twist to an old story. Highly recommend.

Truly excellent show - great for all the family!

A great little theatre. We had amazing seats. Its fantastic how this show has lasted. All the clues are there, if you can decipher them! Would definitely recommend.

Back to the Future is a really brilliant show. Music, scene changes, storyline, vitality of the show was excellent.

The music and movement/hip-hop was brilliant. Superb choreography. Wonderful costumes and a very clever set. But we simply could not understand / get ‘the story’ as the diction of most of the singers was poor and we simply could not comprehend the words they were singing. They need to articulate their words more clearly and when holding a microphone not to hold it so close to their mouths - the words tumble out as a poetic jumble.

Amazing show which followed the story but with the addition of talented actors, singers and dancers. We enjoyed every minute of the show and so pleased we saw it.

Booking, travel and access was easy. An enjoyable and new experience watching a murder mystery.

The Play That Goes Wrong is Excellent.
So much laughter & enjoyment for the whole performance.
A brilliant night out.

Absolutely enjoyed Back To The Future (The Musical)! The acting was brilliant and the cast were really good. The ending was amazing. Certainly would recommend people to go and see this show before it disappears

Amazing venue and the ballet performance itself was out of this world. A truly wonderful evening. The one thing that stopped me giving 5 stars was the ballet goers - so rude, pushing past with no awareness of others. No one smiled at you or made you feel as special as the night warranted.
However being in Covent Garden and the Royal Opera House to see Giselle was an experience to be had

Great show highly recommend if your a strictly fan

This was such a fun, witty, cheeky musical. The cast were all superb: exceptional dancers, actors taking multiple roles, showing great talent in each of them, and a happy, contagious energy. Songs were cute too. For a while I was taken right out of myself. Thank you x

Back to the future was a brilliant show, brilliant and funny actors. Lots of dancing, colour and relavent to 1955 and 1985
Brilliant props and a fab ending!! A must see before end of April.
