Drove into a pothole on returning home from a Christmas day meal sustaining a flat tyre. Called this company who informed me that driving into a pothole is classed as a collision, so would have to pay over £200 before a recovery vehicle would respond! Had to agree as no other option open to me. Then took over 2 hours for them to send a vehicle although there was a company no more than 30 minutes away able to reach us much sooner. Do not give this company your business.

Avoid this company. They sold me the policy as roadside assist and home recovery. When I had a breakdown they then changed what they told me originally saying I couldn’t have both. I picked roadside assist but ended up needing home recovery, where upon they said they wouldn’t honour the recovery.
Will be cancelling policy straight away.

Terrible service our car broke down the next road from our house we have the policy for attending breakdowns from our house we managed to slowly drive our car back onto our drive the power steering had gone on our further inspection when we opened the bonnet could see the fan & cam belts had split hence no power steering we rang breakdown assist & told them what had happened they said our policy didn't warrant them to come out as the car still had power ! If we had broken down on the motorway ,at night ,or in the country side ? The car would of not been safe to drive hence needing a break down truck to drive us to a garage & place of safety Thier policy is non existent it's worthless !!!! I'm disabled & my partner is nearly 70 surly if your power steering goes it's dangerous and will cause damage to the car when driven ,they argued & said if you can drive the car in a straight line it's mobile & so refused to come out to our car !!!! We have since rang green flag & AA whom said that our car was unsafe to drive & would of come out & taken to a garage they use green flag went onto say even if our wipers broke they would come out as the car would be dangerous to drive not having a clear windscreen please avoid breakdown assist they are a company that simply doesn't care & your paying for a policy which we thought we were covered & clearly not ,they are leaving motorists in danger a car may have power & may have sterring but if power steering goes it's dangerous to drive & you could further damage your car ! Our local garage is fixing our car thank heavens it didn't happen on a motorway I dread to think how we would get to safety shame on this money grabbing company !!!!! Disgusted with you!!!!

Have used these guys for five years but when I actually tried to call them for a rescue twice this year, both times nobody answered and I ended up having to pay a local garage. No point have a cheap policy if it doesn't work.

Call Breakdown assist and you will not get a reply.
In June this year, my tyre was flat and I called them about 5 times including calls by my wife. Even after over 3 hours of continuous calling, i was on wait. Finally, i tried to do it myself. Then car jack broke and my car damaged. I then called nearest garage who helped me and charged through nose.

Avoid like plague.

This company used to be excellent....now they are terrible....not sure what has happened.
Took 25 minutes to have call answered. Half an hour for call taker to take details which she got totally wrong. She did not have a clue what she was doing. Over 4 hour wait for recovery. Will be cancelling renewal after many years with them.

Absolutely terrible company. We broke down in Scotland miles from home. We were told to take the car to the nearest garage even tho it was overheating, no offer of a tow!! We took the car to a garage and the radiator cap was broke, the mechanic ordered one filled the car with water and coolant and told us to pick it up in the morning.
The next morning my husband was about to set off to get the radiator cap but the car started to overheat again when he checked under the bonnet the water pump was spraying out water.
I rang breakdown assist and told them, they point blank refused to send anybody out to us, saying it was the same problem as the day before.
I rang the AA and paid a premium price the very nice man came out and checked the cooling system and said the water pump was leaking which was completely different to the problem the day before.

DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY they left us stranded 30 miles from the nearest town and couldn’t care less.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

I recently had the pleasure of availing roadside assistance from Breakdown Assist. The technician who arrived at the scene was not only skilled but also extremely friendly and approachable. The level of expertise and quality of service provided by the company was exceptional.

The customer service was impeccable. Thanks for sending such professional and polite crew member. WOW!!

There was somthing wrong with my vehicle and it was sunday morning. Glad to see your team arrived immediately and fixed it professionally.

Fantastic service - got a puncture going to Bluewater - called Breakdown Assist at 10.00 the recovery guy got to me 20 mins later.

Shocking service tried calling on the day no answer left it until the following morning eventually when they picked up they cut me off then couldn’t find my policy number and finally when they did they confirmed as the breakdown was over 6hrs we were not covered. The operator took great delight in stating read the small print. We had a previous bad experience when they left our van in a lay by for over 24hrs then offering a gesture of goodwill I would you rather just do your job pick up the phones on time and help people! Do not use this company!

I had very quick response on the phone when down. I left my side lights on and managed to flatten my battery. Thankfully i was rescued quickly and efficiently.

Left stranded on the A1 blocking a lane , cars screaming past ,no hard shoulder. This was a Sunday night 9.00pm. I had to phone the police to get rescued. I am 73 year old and I was a hundred miles from my home.
Had to sort the problems out myself next day.The bill ( not the police) came to £440 . Breakdown Assist said not our problem , offered £40 as a goodwill gesture. The 5 star reviews on their site are mainly from people who have never used them. They gave them 5 stras for taking their money.

I had help with a very dead battery James Smith was prompt, efficient and thorough. Unfortunately because my car had been immobile for approx 6 weeks the tyres needed checking and i was surprised to hear that he didn’t carry anything to do that with.

Hard to gauge star rating. My car didn't start this morning and I looked for breakdown assistance. Website directed me to report breakdown via their Web site. This I did, only to be told at end, its not available at moment, please phone. So phone I did, via mobile, waiting ages, so used home phone with a differet number. Both had same message'your call is important, etc'. Eventually, my call was answered after 36 mins. The actions from the advisor was good and no complaints there. She sent text saying breakdown would be there in less than 60 mins. Breakdown truck arrived in 15mins. So again, great work. The breakdown element seems to work very well, but the website reporting and phone connections are very poor. I was in the comfort of my lounge, warm and dry with 2 phones trying to get through. Heaven help those in dark, wet conditions if they have to wait 30-45 mins to get through.

Couldn't fault the service provided by Breakdown Assist. Very professional and reliable.

Been with Breakdown Assist for 11 and a half months, my renewal quote came through via email so I called their number to renew my policy. There are 3 options on the auto answering machine so I chose option 2 "Renewal", it rang and rang and rang ... no answer. I called again and tried option 3 "Anything else", it rang and rang and rang and again no answer so I tried the 3rd and final option 1 "Purchase" it rang and rang and rang and again no answer.
Now if I had broken down wouldn't they be of fantastic use to me!!!
Needless to say I let my cover lapse and went with the RAC who answered the phone quickly!

I have just been trying on the phone for the past 40 mins, trying to get through. I tried all 3 lines, and no one is answering them. The line stops ringing after 6 minutes of being on the phone, and asks to leave a message. Its 10:30 in the morning on a Wednesday!
How can I trust that you will help me with my policy, if you can't even answer the helpline when I have a few questions.
