As a small charity, getting the right support in a cost effective way can be challenging, but I feel we have found our sweet spot with Peninsula.

I am very disappointed with the service provided by BrightHR’s payroll software.
I raised an HMRC-related issue on 1 April 2026, and it has still not been properly investigated or resolved. Despite multiple calls and emails, I am repeatedly told that it is a “complex payroll issue” under investigation, yet no clear explanation or progress report has been provided.
In the meantime, I have received a warning from HMRC, which I have already escalated to BrightHR management. Unfortunately, the response has been limited to empty promises, with no meaningful action taken.
I only signed up for their payroll service in January 2026, and it appears the system was not set up correctly from the start. Since raising this issue, communication has been poor—emails are often ignored for days, and when I call, I am told that managers are unavailable or “busy.”
Although a manager became involved after my complaints, the level of service has not improved. It feels as though customer support significantly declined after payment was made.
This experience has been frustrating and has seriously impacted my confidence in BrightHR’s services.
I would appreciate a prompt response, a clear explanation of the issue, and an urgent resolution.

Ugomma, the customer support assistant, was very understanding of my predicatment listen to my concerns
patiently and supported me in understanding and signposted me to resolve a problem I have had with paying double for the same product, which I had requested a review for but had previously declined.

Was ready to leave Bright HR but Mark Dunn completely changed my mind. He helped me renegotiate a much better deal and included insurance cover as well. Excellent service—Mark is a credit to the team!

I had a really positive experience with Garry at BrightHR. He was knowledgeable, approachable, and took the time to clearly explain everything, ensuring all my questions were fully answered. His support was thorough and professional, and the session was genuinely helpful rather than rushed. I felt well supported throughout and would happily recommend Garry to anyone using BrightHR.

BrightHR is actually run by a company called Peninsula that keeps spamming my inbox. I have been to two of their workshops which was incorrectly advertised for Free HR and Employment law advice. It is best described as a sales workshop where they will not provide any advice or support until they have locked you in to a 2-year contract. I am fully aware nothing is free, however misleading people into getting free support but instead touting for sales, is not a good approach. They have to give me a good reason to want to join them. Looking at other reviews I can see some say it is very expensive for what you get, and you are better off paying for a course via ACAS instead. Guess this is what I will do.
Also, this company has no affiliation to BrightPay / BrightSG group. Quite possible this is the reason I keep get spammed both on socials and via email.

Abdul was absolutely brilliant throughout the setup process. Really patient, helpful and supportive, he answered all of the questions that I had and made sure that all our payroll account was setup accurately.

But was brought back to the BR by a lovely lady by the name of Layla , she completely turned me around 360 degrees after explaining to me the better use of the software that i had with the soft which i had really forgotten about. So well done to Layla 10/10 a super phone call which turned a zero into a 10 !
