Intensive courses can involve long and demanding days, so it’s brilliant to hear that Felix paced each session so well that the four hours flew by without you losing energy or focus. Everyone at Bristol & Bath Intensive Courses is delighted to hear that, after a difficult start with another driving school, Alan was able to rebuild your daughter’s confidence and help her feel comfortable behind the wheel again. Confidence is often the key to success, and Alan has a fantastic ability to put nervous pupils at ease while giving them the skills they need to progress.

Tim will also be incredibly pleased to read your kind words. His calm, patient and supportive approach is exactly what so many learners need, particularly those who don’t find driving comes naturally. Firstly, congratulations on getting yourself to test standard. Reaching the point where both you and Alan felt you were ready is a fantastic achievement in itself, and you should be really proud of how far you’ve come.

You’re also absolutely right about the nerves. It’s something we see time and time again – even the most confident, well-prepared pupils can be completely caught off guard by just how different the driving test feels. Those nerves have a way of making even simple things seem much harder than they normally would. The important thing to remember is that a failed test doesn’t mean you can’t drive; more often than not, it simply means the pressure of the day got the better of you.

We’re delighted to hear how highly you speak of Alan. Building confidence from day one, creating a calm atmosphere, and making lessons enjoyable are exactly the qualities we look for in our instructors. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to him, as we know they’ll mean a great deal.

Firstly, we are genuinely sorry that your initial experience did not meet the standard we expect. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention at the time, as it allowed us to investigate and take action. The experience you describe with your first instructor is certainly not what we aim to provide our pupils.

We are, however, pleased that once we became aware of the issues, we were able to arrange for Felix to take over your training. It is fantastic to hear that he gave you the support, guidance and confidence you needed, ultimately helping you pass your test after just two days together. We will make sure your kind comments are passed on to him.

We also appreciate your comments regarding the overall timescale. Unfortunately, instructor availability, test availability and arranging suitable dates can sometimes extend the process beyond anyone’s preference, although we understand how frustrating that can be from a pupil’s perspective.

In relation to the test day fee, this is a separate charge agreed directly with the instructor for the use of their vehicle, insurance, time and accompanying the test. This is outlined in our terms and conditions and is not a charge that is introduced at the end of the course unexpectedly.

Thank you again for your honest feedback. Whilst we regret that your journey did not begin as it should have, we are delighted that it ended with a successful pass. We wish you many years of safe and enjoyable driving ahead.

Hi,

We’re sorry that you have been left feeling disappointed.

Your intensive course was allocated to one of our instructors and commenced on 27th April 2026. During the course, no concerns were raised with us that would have suggested there was an issue requiring our intervention.

It was only after the course had finished that you contacted us regarding the number of hours completed. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we immediately contacted both yourself and the instructor to establish the facts before making a decision. This was necessary to ensure that any refund accurately reflected the tuition that had taken place.

As part of resolving the matter, we also offered the opportunity to complete the remaining tuition with another instructor. Following further discussions, you instead chose to receive a refund for the unused hours, which we agreed to.

That refund has been authorised and is currently progressing through our normal processing procedure. It remains within our published processing timescales.

While we appreciate this has been frustrating for you, we believe we have acted fairly throughout by investigating the matter promptly, offering a practical resolution, and agreeing to refund the outstanding hours once our enquiries were complete.

We wish you every success with your future driving tuition.
