Long dispatch, excellent items

I was concerned when reading a number of the reviews on Trustpilot for British Chemist after I’d placed an order. However, the website does clearly state in a number of places that dispatch times can be up to 10 working days. I received regular updates and communication and despite taking a while to be dispatched, I received my items and they were sent tracked 24 hours. Very happy with my purchase - if you’re willing to wait for well priced items, I’d definitely recommend! The experience was no different to what I expected based on clear lead times.

Whats your order number before you decide to leave a bad review. Have you tried to contact us or you just want to join the negative reviewers? Thanks for your review anyway. We have over 100k products and most of our customer's are happy.

Leaving a review alone does not provide us with sufficient information to resolve the issue. We kindly ask that you communicate with us so we can assist effectively—there is a strong possibility that a refund may have already been processed.

Bad company

Took 3 weeks to cancel the order and then no refund. Order number #416183. It was a payment of £36.36 that they have still not refunded.

Thank you for being polite. Please send your order number and we can sort this out. Please read before ordering as our none medical items clearly say they take up to 10 working days as they are centrally stocked and occasionally they are cancelled. Most of our negative reviews are because people are not reading before ordering. We are the only pharmacy in the UK to stock over 100,000 items on its website. Please send your order details privately and we are happy to sort out and explain what's gone wrong if something has gone wrong. Have a lovely rest of your weekend.

This is an absolutely ridiculous accusation. We process thousands of orders, yet only the negative instances are being highlighted. We do not steal—we are a legitimate business, and whenever an order is cancelled, a full refund is always issued.

Please share your order number and we will be happy to review this for you. Our responsiveness is reflected in how quickly we reply to negative reviews.

We do occasionally cancel orders, particularly as we are still expanding into household goods. Some of these items are centrally stocked, and in certain cases our suppliers cancel orders, which unfortunately leaves us with no option but to cancel and issue a full refund. This is clearly stated in our information, where it explains that orders may sometimes be cancelled.

Terrible company had bulbs orders for 12 days to be cancelled on me. Should not be taking orders if you can fulfil them!

How they have got 2 stars is beyond me, terrible experience please trust me and just don’t order from them, ridiculous wait, told dispatched and then told can’t fulfill the order as can’t get the stuff, well how can it be dispatched! Honestly just avoid!!

We feel this is unfair, as our website clearly states that non-medical items are centrally stocked, may take up to two weeks for delivery, and in some cases may need to be cancelled and refunded. This information is clearly displayed on the product page prior to purchase.
Nevertheless, as a professional organisation, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. For context, we are currently the only pharmacy in the UK offering a catalogue of over 100,000 products.
We also respond promptly to all feedback and criticism, which we welcome, as it helps us continue to improve our service. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Three-week delay on essential medication (Order #407716)

I placed order #407716 on 10 December 2025 for cardiologist-recommended VegaOmega Plus and Brulidine Cream. Despite the time-sensitive nature of these products, they were not dispatched for nearly three weeks.
Communication was non-existent; I received only automated updates. My request for a cancellation on 24 December was initially ignored, and a refund was only processed after significant delay. This failure to deliver prevented me from sourcing these essential items elsewhere in a timely manner, which impacted my health management. I have shared this experience with Trading Standards and the MHRA to highlight the risks of such delays for patients.

I wish I'd looked on Trust Pilot before…

I wish I'd looked on Trust Pilot before I ordered from this company on the 3rd Jan. They took my money on the same day but all I've had since then is a string of emails saying the order is processing. Now the 17th Jan and nothing. Perhaps a referral to Trading Standards or the Financial Conduct Authority might buck their ideas up.

I have replied to this company privately and the order has now been cancelled and a refund is in progress. However I don't accept my original comments were unfair. Each email I received indicated a progression of the order in the heading but nothing happened.

That is an unfair comment.
Please contact us by email and share your order details so we can look into this for you. We are primarily a pharmacy, and all non-pharmaceutical items are clearly marked as centrally stocked and ordered on demand. These items can take up to 10 working days to dispatch and, in rare cases, may need to be cancelled.
We do not take customers’ money unfairly. We are a legitimate business, and refunds are always available if requested. If you are not satisfied for any reason, please let us know and we will issue a full refund.
We ship thousands of orders, and the majority of our customers are happy with our service. Please provide your order number and we will arrange an immediate refund. Thank you for updating your comment. Just to make you aware refunds take up to 5 working days and already left our account so it's just a matter of the banks. Furthermore our emails are all automated and not meant as deception but thank you for your feedback nethertheless.

Send what they feel like rather than what you order

They sent a different item and I had ordered what I wanted from them specifically as they said that had it, which they hadn't, and sent an inferior alternative. I asked for my money back and I would return the incorrect item but they have never responded. I think they are shysters and will certainly never order from them again.

Bunch of jokers

This chemist used to be very good, usually order in the morning and delivered the next day but the last couple of times I've used them it's taken an age to even be looked at, the last order I did with them spent 3 weeks on their system I had several automated emails giving me weekly updates then I get an email saying order rejected and cancelled, yea ok so you make me wait 3 weeks send out numerous emails apologizing then go and cancel it, great costumer service I certainty won't be using them again and will make sure I can spread the word so others don't get caught up with this company, they have a 2 star rating for a reason because they are bloody awful.

Dear Mr James. We apologise for the experience you have received. If you can privide an order number we can look into this for you (send it by email). Just to make you aware we are a multi seller platform, we are like Amazon for pharmacies so you will get different experiences with different sellers. We are also one of the main sellers so if you can give us the details we can check this for you. Please do email us and we will happily give you a discount voucher for your next order from us. Once again we do apologise and happy to look into what went wrong as you have every right to be annoyed if it was cancelled after 3 weeks and this is not the service we expect from anyone selling on our platform.

No delivery after 3 weeks

Ordered nearly 3 weeks ago, and still not received my order. After constant messaging on live chats and phoning almost daily, finally got them to dispatch part of my order. The other items they keep saying are coming, but now I have asked for a refund but still not heard anything back. I was told 2 weeks ago that one item was out of stock, so I asked for a refund but still haven't received anything. At this point, I just want the refund for the missing items, but looks like I'm gonna need to do a chargeback.

Hi. We have emailed you a number of times and you have not replied and you seem to have a number of emails you are emailing from but not replying to. You have ordered 5 packs of an item and our pharmacist from the pharmacy you ordered from is asking why you need 5 packs. We are a multi seller platform and you did not order from us directly but our third party seller and they told us without a reply they cannot send out so please explain why you have ordered 5 packs. Also give us a correct email address as without correct details we cannot contact you. Also your phone number does not work either. If you do not reply we will cancel and refund and not sell to you again unfortunately, as all details provided have to be accurate.

Scammers, kept money for weeks, couldn’t supply product

Same story as others, kept my money for weeks, then refunded as “they didn’t want to keep me waiting any longer”. Although I was refunded after a few weeks, i lost significantlyon the FX as ordering from overseas. Scammers for sure. They couldn’t source my product but it’s still for sale on the website. When I threatened to post this review if they didn’t remove the product, they said “actually we can source it now, just reorder” and never followed up with the payment link they promised. Do not risk it.
It was a product I hadn’t been able to find that I needed for my son’s medication. I should have known it was too good to be true. Do not trust these people

Thank you for your message and feedback, though we must clarify that the concerns raised are not accurate. A scammer does not issue refunds — the fact that we refunded your payment demonstrates our legitimacy and commitment to our customers.

The product is currently in stock, and we would be happy for you to place a new order and receive it. Unfortunately, we have recently experienced issues with Royal Mail returning some international parcels, so we have temporarily suspended international shipping until we can identify why certain items are not reaching their destination.

As stated on our website, international orders are placed at the customer’s own risk with regard to customs clearance. However, we have found that despite agreeing to this at the time of purchase, some customers are unhappy when delays or returns occur and still request refunds.

I would order again from them - a sincere team

I give this team 5* for sincerity and their valiant attempts to get the product I ordered to me on time - with success at last. I marked down 1 star just because it took so long. They responded very well to a phone call, and explained why the product was delayed, offering me a chance to cancel. I hung in there because we communicated on the phone well. The product arrived later than hoped but just in time for our project. I would definitely order again from them, but maybe not something I needed right away, as I suspect for some things they don't hold a lot of stock and can be let down by their suppliers.

Shocking company

Ordered on 21st July . No sign of order just automated emails . Messaged them on website several days ago no response . Replied to the last automated email several days ago again no response . None existent customer service . Now faced with having to put a claim into my credit card company for a refund as no goods and no refund despite requesting one in writing twice Avoid this company at all costs . ( order no 404106)
