Absolutely appalling experience from start to finish
I received the materials in 25 kg bags, and when the delivery arrived, the driver informed me that he couldn’t help unload them FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VAN because he had had back surgery. Fair enough — although apparently the solution was for the customer to do all the heavy lifting instead.
Things got even better when I questioned the situation. The driver very politely told me to “keep my mouth shut” and unload the materials if I wanted them, otherwise he would simply take them back. Excellent customer service — exactly what you hope for when paying for a delivery.
Since I actually needed the materials, I had no choice but to unload the entire delivery myself. I then contacted the company to make a complaint, expecting at least some sort of response or follow-up. Of course, nothing. Not even the courtesy of an update.
So, to summarise: pay for delivery, unload 25 kg bags yourself, get told to “keep your mouth shut” by the driver, then get completely ignored by the company when you complain.
Truly outstanding customer service — if the goal is to make sure customers never want to use you again.
Avoid this company as much as possible. There are plenty of businesses that actually understand what “customer service” means.

We’re very sorry to read about your experience. We would, however, like to clarify that our deliveries are kerbside only, and customers are required to have suitable manual labour available on site to assist with unloading the goods. This is communicated as part of our delivery information.
That said, the comments you have described being made by the driver are completely unacceptable and are not reflective of the standard of service we expect. Regardless of the unloading requirements, customers should always be treated politely and professionally.
We’re also sorry that you have not received the follow-up you expected after raising your complaint. We take concerns of this nature seriously and will be reviewing both the driver’s conduct and the handling of your complaint so that this can be properly investigated.
Please accept our apologies for the way this aspect of your delivery was handled.
Kind regards,
Emily

Cheapest around and quality service…
Have used Builder Depot before and they performed again
I bought the Grohe Euro Ceramic wall-hung toilet with the soft-close seat from Builder Depot, and I am very impressed. Their price was the best I could find anywhere online by a clear margin compared to other major DIY and plumbing suppliers. The ordering process was smooth, and the toilet arrived safely and promptly. The Grohe fixture itself is brilliant—the rimless design and Triple Vortex flush make it extremely quiet, powerful, and easy to keep clean. Highly recommend both the product and Builder Depot for value and service!
