Housed in a beautiful building is the only positive. Staff from Reception up are really rude - hand picked for their condescending, patronising attitude - all are foreign. Expect to wait 5 hours minimum before you see any housing staff. Ironic the tax payer pays their wages yet gets treated like something they step in on the pavement and scrape off their shoe. The organisation needs an overhaul - properly trained staff not DEI imports - people who actually want the job. Staff know they can talk to the public in the most disgusting manner with total impunity safe that they will never lose their jobs.

Camden council treat their tenants with utter contempt. Impossible to speak to anyone. Since 15/7/2025
i have had a leak through bathroom ceiling from neighbours toilet. I have had urine dripping through the ceiling & down wall. The man in repairs actually asked me how i knew it was urine.? As they treat their tenants like brainless idiots this question didn't surprise me. I did think about keeping a sample because one thing you can be certain of ...Camden Council never believe their tenants. Obviously a 60yr old womens is unable to distinguish the difference between urine & water.
I was told a plumber would arrive no plumber Told on friday 18/7/2025 a
plumber would arrive No plumber then weekend All this time urine
through my ceiling. On monday21/7/2025 i rang the head of repairs, told someone would ring me that day nobody rang me.
Now 22/7/2025 No plumber has arrived but still urine.
I'm having an Angioplasty on Tuesday & should avoid stress HA
I am stressed with the obvious & wasting my time ringing, going on their WhatsApp repeating myself again & again to different agents who know nothing and writing emails that are ignored.
Impossible to speak to anyone.
My estate officer Tom Mullins attitude was confrontational, he laughed at me and said "well I'm very busy" & hung up.
This is the person you are told to go to for advice / problems etc. According to him "Its Nothing to do with me". So there we are that's labour run camden council for you Useless.

Why do we pay so much money to a service that does nothing to look after their residents?
Website doesn't work, time wasted waiting for someone to answer calls, rubbish on streets and rodent infested streets.
Why give the deal to Veolia? Who is profiting from this deal?

So Camden Council employ a company to install a shower and a workman spent most of the day going in and out to smoke. The also say the will arrive at a certain time and arrive an hour and a half later. No wonder Camden Council has no money

Worst council ever. Worse employees. They don't send letters for the council tax and then make you pay penalties for it. What's even worse is having to wait one hour on the phone to speak to someone. Then they refuse to remove the penalty even though we had already paid. The employee, named Tracy, was very agressive and even insulted me. I've never seen anything like this. And all this while we are paying huge amounts of council tax, the streets are filthy and the council tax is rising every year. This council really has no accountability and no respect for people. A disgrace.

Zero stars. My neighbours damp is causing my entire wall to crumble and I've been trying to contact camden council for help for months. They are just giving me the runaround. I can't afford to sue my neighbour, and I can't afford to fix the problem. My neighbour refuses to acknowledge the problem, despite having a surveyor's report. Camden council are the only people that can help me but wont tell me the right person to speak to. They're supposed to help support their residents but are a total con.

It's an absolute joke Gas is over 170% up charging £120 a month for one bad flat when the average UK gas price for one bad flat is £58pm, paying 12 months at the same price is a scam, and no one willing to help you, rent officer even told me you don't pay we will get you out of a property,

Camden Council does not care about residents. I have lived on the same street in Camden for 30 years and can prove in that time over 90% of the actions that Camden Council has taken have made a negative impact on the quality of life on our street and the surrounding area. Most recently I have written a detailed letter explaining how they are actually effecting health and safety of residents negatively and they refuse to make a site visit because they do not want to see this. Each department says it is not their responsibility. Their initial response was we have done everything by the book, but that does not mean it is right and is not impacting lives negatively and endangering lives. Get out from behind you desk and do the right thing and meet me and see for yourselves.

The worst service ever, I make the effort leave work to wait for repairs appointment they don’t turned up, when I call they lied no access, most unreliable service, badly managed.
If that was private renter they have a lot to say.
Useless service, unreliable no transparency.

They only thing are good at is wasting our money, they employ useless staff, contractors don’t have experience and paying lots of money for surveyors for fire safety they haven’t got a clue.

Where to start? Elderly disabled and extremely vulnerable parents in separate properties both Camden Council tenants. In same locality.
Totally failed by housing repairs team and mgrs who they have never once seen in 80 yrs of combined yrs as tenants . Despite - or because of- being enhanced tenants with additional needs the council are meant to prioritise and take phone reports but refuse because lets face it, because of disability they cant follow up so why not ignore. Doesnt matter if ceiling has collapsed or front door lock broken . Both left with no heating and hot water for months on end, our mother is targeted by conmen and loan sharks been assaulted in her own home and there has been zero support from the Camden Safety Team ( yes ,they have one). Multiple welfare checks and safeguarding reports raised by concerned emergency services - zero response by social services who tell us they STILL arent doing home assessment visits as working from home. Father has sub standard care package with zero input from social services with the 5th social worker in 5 yrs. Cant manage basic day to day things like keys, money, post, medical appts due to dementia. So everything ends in crisis inc emergency hospital admissions.
Camden have always had an appalling attitude towards disabled and vulnerable residents. So many jobs for life workforce - many in the above wkrs been there 20yrs +. Our parents deserve so much better. Never once had an apology.

Camden is a festering cesspit that stinks of urine feces and weed, the council is definitely the most incompetent bunch inept idiots placed on this planet, the council refuse to deal with anything and somehow get away with giving far below standard service while trying to bully the residents

By far the worse experience I have had in dealing with bureaucrats, the housing & allocations dept. has made my life unbearable and made me seriously unwell.

No responses to an official complaint registered because of the above.

No duty of care towards the wellbeing of its residents who are impacted by these issues.

Environmental Health / Noise Pollution teams need a serious review of how they handle and resolve residents complaints.

Deeply sinister - it's a dystopian experience trying to communicate with them.

Anti resident and anti business. The traffic is worse than ever - more and more roads are being closed which makes any travel through Camden a nightmare. One- way traffic makes Camden High Street one of the most unpleasant high streets in London to visit. People in charge of transport and traffic do not care about residents’ time or quality of life. Road works are not supervised. Consultation results are regularly ignored. They ask but it does not matter what residents think. The propisals are pushed through regardless. It is undemocratic. Making Parkway one lane. Pedestrianising Camden High Street for even more low quality tourism. The council knows best and the residents will have to live with their decisions. A socialist experiment maybe?

Camden Is A Toxic Borough Despite Being the Wealthiest in the UK It Fails to Deal With Crime! in their properties.

Despite reporting a very violent neighbour to the estate manager at the time Nigel Edwards and Lavinia Meyers, Camden failed to act and as a result the tenant was subjected to having his door kicked in regularly by a violent thug who lived below him. He also repeatedly threw urine into the tenant's open window.

Yet Camden did not lift a finger to act! They were fully aware of the abuse but failed to act.

What does that tell you about Camden estate managers? Or Camden Council in general.? The borough also has the highest crime figures in the UK while the police fail to act against violent tenants.

The tenant was subjected to twenty years of violent abuse at the hands of a psychopathic violent thug and Camden did not lift a finger to help.

Nigel Edwards ignored all reports as did the vile Lavinia Meyers who seemed to revel in a tenant's misery, eventually the pair were fired for doing nothing ignoring criminal tenants that attacked neighbours regularly while taking a salary. That was only after years of complaints from thousands of tenants over the years while this pair of vile individuals took a large salary and sat back doing nothing all day.

Camden is a very toxic borough that only cares about power self interest money profit despite being the wealthiest borough in the UK.with the highest crime.

If you live in the borough do ensure you have an excellent solicitor to defend you and hold them accountable.

Taking legal action is the only way to deal with this toxic borough.

In the same way that Labour has greatly disappointed us since being elected turning out to be a party of self interest attacking pensioners by removing the energy allowance and the travel card, Accepting freebies etc.

Camden has become the nastiest greediest borough in the UK with the highest crime figures that's run by toxic people that only cares about self interest t and high salaries which is running the borough. If you call Camden Council no one will respond it's a case of 'Press 1 press 7 press 3" and you are left on hold until you realise they are all working from home and have been since Covid lockdown and are ignoring your call.

Shame on you Camden council. You are a disgrace!.

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Camden Recycling. Despite paying a high council tax, I have yet to receive the most basic essentials—recycling bags or even a bin. I’ve been diligent about recycling, always cutting boxes neatly and rinsing plastics thoroughly, yet my recycling is never collected. The excuse? It’s not in a bin.

I ordered a bin and patiently waited for four weeks, only to be left with more uncollected recycling piling up. Now, they refuse to collect it because there’s “too much.” How is this even acceptable? The situation is beyond frustrating.

To make matters worse, every time I call, there is one specific woman who is consistently rude, even when I’m being polite. I have logged multiple complaints, yet I have received no response whatsoever. This level of service is completely unacceptable, and I’ll be attaching photos to highlight the extent of this ongoing issue. Camden Recycling, you need to do better.
