Can-com is what I want in an ISP.

Can-com has the most straight forward pricing of all the providers available to me which means no more hidden fees or surprises.

I also had issues with my internet (Rogers) which Can-com needs to use and Can-com has consistently been responsive to calls emails and follow ups. They have some of the best customer support people I have ever seen and are helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend them.

Billing issues

I had a great experience with Can Com Internet until it came time to cancel.

When I moved out in October 2025, I placed my account on a three-month pause (their minimum freeze period is two months), with the intention of potentially transferring the service to the new tenant.

While my account was paused, communication seemed clear. However, when reviewing my bank statements afterward, I discovered I had been charged approximately $42 during the pause period. At no point was I informed that fees would apply while the service was frozen.

I am currently in an ongoing dispute regarding this charge. Until it is resolved, I cannot recommend the service.

Stay away from their VoIP

Their Internet is okay but the people that work there don't seem to be up to speed with the VoIP they offer. They need a lot more training to make them better with that.

Highly recommended.

Have been using Can Com at two locations for more than 4 years now. Never had any tech issues apart from when Shaw is down. Speeds are always as specified. Customer service is the best of any ISP/Telco I have ever used and costs are very competitive. Highly recommended.

Good value and service

Great company. Just understand that outages are tied to Shaw's infrastructure (at least in our area.) So Can Com may not have the most information when there's an outage, but you're experiencing the same issues as people on much more expensive plans. When we moved to a new house and upgraded to higher tier plan, we were a bit disappointed with the speeds. Working from home, I couldn't justify cheaping out on the essentials. So we did move on to a fiber plan elsewhere, but I highly recommend Can Com if you want to save some money for less demanding usage. Their customer service was always excellent - got through quickly to a person promptly each time, and when we moved, they followed up shortly after to make sure the reconnection worked out.

Incredible Internet Provider

I'll start with the negative: You must purchase your own router/networking equipment, which shouldn't take much of an expense if you can afford it. Additionally, the modem shipped to you for rental requires you to ship it back, though they cover the cost of shipping, from what I understand. The internet has had its spotty times, but that was about 0.05% of the time.

The positive? The customer service has been BEYOND incredible. Every individual that works there is clearly cherry-picked as the perfect customer service representative, including Ross and Wendy as two of the three I dealt with (and the other fellow I merely forgot his name). The internet quality is cheap for how incredibly fast we get speed (in Inglewood, Calgary), and they provide as prompt service as they can. They clearly give a **** about you as a customer, and that is worth 5-star review in my books.

They DON'T raise your price! Apparently grandfathered rates...

I got their 25 Mbps plan two years ago and it was $38. Today they charge $40 if you sign up today, bit I'm still being charged only 38 before bonuses. It appears they grandfather in your rate! Most other internet providers don't do this obviously. Huge plus.

Save an additional loyalty discount of 1 to 5% after being with them for over a year and CanCom ends up being a fantastic deal.

I work from home, and service has been very stable, 2 years ongoing from 2 different houses.

I’m the 8th review. All 8 are 5⭐️ and yet TrustPilot has CanCom @ 4.7
…confusing!
Anyways I’ve enjoyed CanCom at 2 addresses in different provinces, this is my 3rd year with them. I can’t recommend them enough; their CS is remarkable and the actual service is worth writing home about. I have internet & VOIP

Shaw internet service for less than half the price!

I was paying over $95/month for direct-from-Shaw internet service that costs around $42 with Can Com. Same download/upload speeds and no data cap (my Shaw plan had a 300 GB monthly cap).

Service has been top-tier with Can Com. Whenever I've needed to call them, they answer quickly. Contrast this to staying on hold with Shaw for up to 2 hours.

Can Com even rewards their customers with annual loyalty discounts. The discounts may be small, but even a small discount is preferable to Shaw's substantial annual increases.

The switch from Shaw was easy since Can Com uses the Shaw network. Just replace Shaw's modem with Can Com's, which is mailed to you. Your results may vary if switching from another ISP.

My only regret was overpaying for the same internet service for so many years before discovering Can Com. Check them out if you're looking to switch ISPs. If so, please use my referral code 31676 for a $10 discount off your first month.

Finally affordable internet!

I was tired of paying way too much for internet service from the big-name ISPs (Shaw, Telus, Bell etc). At first, I was skeptical about switching to Can Com because I've never heard of them before. But I'm really glad I gave it a shot!

Their internet speeds are as promised and it's a seamless switch for any Shaw internet users because they piggy-back off the Shaw network. Basically, Can Com ships you a new modem and you just replace your Shaw modem on your activation date. Done and done.

Service has been fantastic!!!

Service has been fantastic! No drops except for regular Shaw-based maintenance. Far cheaper than the big two for lower speed internet plans, and relatively stable. They supply a non-wifi cable modem so you don't have to buy one, but to have in-house wifi, I purchased a router. All in all, I'm very happy with them.

They also have a refer-a-friend program where you receive $10 off your first month. If you want to be nice and use my code, it is 26933. Hope this helps!
