Standardized test that's not so standard

The college board and their customer service representatives are absolutely and positively incompetent. I'm still a little confused why it takes from September 2025 to January 2026 and over 25 phone calls to have the date changed from a Saturday to a Sunday. Everytime I call they tell me i need to wait 5-7 business days for a response and then when I call back.... that request was closed because its been 5 days. You cannot make this up.

Extremly horrible and insensitive…

Extremly horrible and insensitive company. Having technical issues daily. I can never login to AP Classroom seamlessly in one shot! I also took an SAT test and they messed up my score saying there was a technical glitch 6 months AFTER the test. That's how long they took to communicated. Then even they did not refund my score of $60 as it had been a waste of a grade. Did not give any discounts or anything either so I went with ACT which is much more user friendly.

Employees Are Disposable Here

This organization treats its employees poorly. When they need you, they expect excessive overtime, discourage taking time off, and require you to support other teams, all under the guise of “One College Board.” When they no longer need you, they let you go immediately without hesitation. I would avoid this place.

My child's result cancelled without any actual reason given. After many phone calls and several "case numbers" lodged, still nothing. The phone enquiry service seems to be located in the Phillipines, as all operators I have dealt with have had a Phillipines accent and there is always a "delay" in the conversation. After submitting 3 different online explanation forms they supplied by email, on my last call they said the case was closed. Still no answer and no explanation. Starting to think the Colledge Board SAT is a giant scam.

If I could give 0 Stars I would

If I could give 0 Stars I would. Long story short my son submitted an Early Acceptance Admissions app and his SAT scores have been sitting "PENDING" on their website since 10/21/25. The day the scores came in, I requested for them to be sent to the university. Here we are 11/10/25 and the scores are still "PENDING". I have called 5 times, had two escalated cases created. The first I was supposed to receive a call back within two hours last week. No call. When I called back today I was put on hold for 45 minutes then hung up and called back. I'm pretty certain it was the same lady and she put me on hold this time 35 minutes only to come back and say the other case was never escalated and was closed. Meanwhile, the documentation deadline for the university is 11/15/25. I asked if she could manually send the scores. No. I asked to speak to a supervisor. None available because they're all on the phone. I asked if I just paid to have them sent when would the university receive the scores. Five to 10 business days. That's after the documentation deadline of 11/15/25. I have no control over these scores or they would have been sent the same day. These people literally are paid for one job which is to administer tests and send said test scores to the colleges you request. This is crazy --- and I work at the university I'm trying to have the scores sent to. Wild!!!

College Board is the WORST

College Board is the WORST! I don't even want to give them 1 star! Our daughter signed up, followed all the instructions and then on test day after an hour she was told she could not take it because her Chromebook wouldn't work. It took weeks of calls and emails to get a refund. It was such a hassle that we decided to forgo the SAT all together. Absolute scam!

College Board Sucks

It's just absolutely horrid. If you forget your password? You basically have to call, because god forbid they ever email or text you. They have the worst hours for the customer service center, and the report email that advertises as "around the clock," gets back to you in "3-5" business days, even if you can't afford that

A huge organization that is not closely monitored by the government. As a result, they just don’t care. For example, I guess it is your own reponsibility to connect the College Board to the local testing center to let the testing center know that the College Board has approved your child to have extra testing time? Better make sure that you read the small print of your child’s approval letter or you’ll get a big surprise when you show up on test day! Our child can login to his College Board account to see that he has been approved for extra time, but somehow this information does not get to the testing centre unless the parent does it.

College Board should be terminated

College Board is the perfect example of how a bloated, outdated system fails the very students it claims to serve. I tried uploading a simple photo to retake the SAT — followed every single rule they listed — and guess what? “We can’t upload your photo.” No reason, no fix, no help. Just broken trash.

It’s honestly embarrassing how bad their site is. For an organization that profits off students' futures, they can’t even get basic tech to work. You’d think they were running this thing from a fax machine.

They treat students like numbers, not humans. Every interaction feels like a wall — not a process. This system is a roadblock, not a pathway. College Board isn’t helping kids succeed — they’re one of the reasons the system is failing.

Shame on them.

Why I hate College Board with a burning passion *(rant)*

I would give zero stars if I could. The lengths that College Board is willing to go through to milk every last cent that they can out of high school students is utterly unfathomable to me. They aren't even necessarily honest about how much they'll charge you, either. Case in point, they advertise that you can send AP test scores to colleges for free, just so long as you do it before - in this year - the 20th of June. Yet, when I went to actually go through the process of sending these test scores, it turns out that College Board had thrown on a $15 "delivery" fee for sending these scores, lacking any explanation as to why this would be the case. This incident is just the latest in a parade of headaches that the College Board has presented me with. Mostly out of spite and rage, I will detail these other such gripes below.
-They charge you an exorbitant fee to take the SAT and AP exams, despite these being a staple part of many a student's high school cirriculum, especially if going to college is a goal. Having to spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on this is something that the College Board has always done, but that I find deeply offensive. It becomes even more ridiculous when you note the fact that College Board has moved most of their tests to being digital-only, so they can pocket more money out of innocent high school students.
-Their website is hell to use, and I had to set my computer clock back an hour so I could use, for no clear reason.
-Turns out that the College Board takes funding from private companies to run their exams, which leads to a conflict of interest in some cases. For example, the largest sponsor of AP Environmental Science is BP Oil, who does not care about the environment, and does this so they can greenwash their reputation, while censoring information with regards to the oil refinement process and similar activities - the knowledge of which would underscore some of the ways that the petroleum industry is harmful. This is a clear conflict of interest in a class that is, at it's core, designed to be about the environment and environmental sustainability.
I could come up with more gripes if I wanted to, but these are the ones that come to mind quickest. I'm really just using this rant to articulate how much I hate College Board. If you work for College Board and are reading this, I hope you feel like a horrible person. I have no sympathy for any part of this organization at this point.

Scheduling SAT test is more complicated, and you get asked more questions than when you apply for work at NASA. I truly hope that Duolingo pushes them to bankruptcy and they cease to exist.

I loathe College Board with a passion

It's a scam industry who takes advantage of young high school kids by enforcing high fees all for little value in the results. You would think, like any other computer program, that results or test score pop up instantly after taking the test. This apparently is not the case. College Board has a terrible reputation and is a shady $2 billion, "non-profit," "charitable" organization. I don't like college board, never have, never will. I will forever be College Board's number one Opp.

The wait for results is ridiculous

The wait for results is ridiculous. My children took the test, on a computer, nearly 1 month ago and still no results! Results should have been available instantaneously, yet here we are a month later wondering what the results are. Waiting for the sake of waiting is totally pointless and shows very poor management. Very disappointed.

Horrible tech management, horrible administration

I paid $70 to take the SAT. FYI During the exam the entire app SHUT DOWN in the middle of the test, but thankfully I was able to finish. On March 21, when all scores were supposed to come out, I did not receive my score. I did not get any follow-up emails or further information on why my score got delayed, and neither did many people who got their scores delayed who had the same tech issues and took the test in the same school as me. Then, I decided to contact customer service by email. And guess what? No response. Zero. I called their national customer service and got told to wait 15 DAYS to receive FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT MY SCORE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME I PAID 70 BUCKS FOR THIS DOG WATER OF A TEST JUST TO BE LEFT IN THE DARK ABOUT MY SCORE? Absolutely horrible technology management, absolutely horrible customer service, absolutely horrible administration.

My son with accommodations was Not allowed to test today

Kevin Escobar, the attendant at the site at Fontana High school today March 8th 2025.
Last testing room started at 8:30am. 9:10am was the last start time and he would not let my so in for testing. Showed no care and no willing to help. Kevin Escobar obviously going off on a power trip and should not be allowed to work for the College Board. He claimed that the digital ID given by the school district was not valid for my son at this Fontana facility. He did not accept the digital ID. I informed him, my daughter was currently testing at the Riverside Convention center and used the same type digital form of ID. This has placed my son at a huge disadvantage for acceptance into the Universities he applied for. He has placed a dent in my son's career and as a child with disabilities this is the last thing he needed, place more barriers on his future and at a disadvantage. We explained this to Kevin Escobar but without interest or care he said he was fallowing rules. I would like to know these rules he talks about because none of this makes sense and my son should have been allowed to test today.
