Borderline illegal marketing practices
I have never had a country door account. I get a letter in the mail saying that they are going to close my credit account, account number listed on the letter, if I don't buy something soon. I immediately think someone has opened an account in my name and I take time out of my busy day to call them to clear this up and close the fraudulant account. Guess what? There is no account, it is just their sleazy, predatory, borderline illegal marketing campaign to get people to buy something. They said there is no account, but if I ever want to buy something, they have that account ready for me. Big F Big U to country door. How many people panicked when they received this letter and had the same thoughts I did about having my identity stolen?

Horrible customer service....need more training!
My Mom ordered a quilt and pillow shams from their catalogs. The quilt was backordered for six weeks.... understandable....it could wait. In the meantime, she received the pillow shams and realizes there was a giant bird in the floral print. Whoever does the photography for the catalog knows what they are doing! They made sure to take the picture of this item at an angel where you do not notice the bird!!! Anyway, she receives the shams and hates them. She contacted Country Door who told her that it was too late to cancel the order for the quilt because it was on the way. They apparently tried to tell her how to return it the items but somehow in the communication, she thought they were going to mail return forms. A week later, she asks me to call. After trying to speak to a customer service representative, I realized that they lack the skills to provide actual customer service and didn't really understand the problem. They ASSUMED that she was asking for a free shipping return label which is NOT what she was asking for. My Mom is not tech savvy and does not do email....she still does things the "old fashion" way. I box up the return, paid $38 to mail the box and made sure to keep up with the tracking number. It took from March 11 to the 23rd for the item to get back to Country Door. I called them today (25th) and they told me they had not received the item. I asked a for a manager because I wanted to know how much longer it would take for the box to move their warehouse to be processed for the return. After about ten minutes of blowing smoke up my butt and making up excuses and telling me "it is a process"....I told him it sounded like he needed to get off of his butt and go down to the warehouse to see what was taking so long to process customer returns! I am a retail sales manager at a large department store chain. I know how long this "process" takes! You have a person who receives the package, opens it up, scans and completes the return and then you put it back in the restocking area to go back out on the shelf. I simply wanted to know if this was a two day process, three day process, etc. His answer was "it varies". Terrible customer service!!!! Needless to say, I will disown my Mom if she ever orders from Country Door again!!!!!
Pay attention to your account
I placed my first and last order in November which was a pre lit flocked Christmas tree that I returned ( nothing like the picture). This month I happened to check my checking account transactions and saw where $16.95 was taken from my account twice and called to find out why, one was my last payment and the other was for perks Membership which I knew nothing about and that had been coming out of my checking account right along with my monthly payment a total of $50.85. They had been telling me it was returned to my checking account but it wasn't. I have been going back and forth with them and finally today I spoke with someone in the credit department and they said I had a credit of$49.65 in my account and I asked that it be returned to my checking account but my options was either a check mailed to me from Country Door or a Master Card which takes 30 days. I told them my account had a zero balance and I would not be using it and to close it. You have people working for your company doing dishonest things and being deceptive about your account
Scam of a company

I was charge a subscription when I order one item. I was billed 16 a month and I told them I did not order the subscription, and they continue to bill me. I called twice and the C/S Reps assured me the subscription was cancel, low an behold I receive to calls from a collection dept that i was pass due I call and got the run around and the last person was very rude and told me I should of cancel in November and I owe this money. He had to transfer me to another dept. to pay, and I got an auto person, no one should order anything from this con artist company and they need to be shut down.

The punch line? WE DON'T HAVE A COUNTRY DOOR CREDIT ACCOUNT.
So they're just making stuff up to hook us into their crummy products, insane shipping fees, horrid customer service, and hard credit checks. Why aren't these clowns in prison?
Half my order was missing
Half my order was missing and when I called to fix the order I was told it was my fault and to get my order corrected I was told I would have to pay shipping and surcharges again from a very disappointed customer in wilkesboro I will definitely not buy anything else
Zero stars if i could
Zero stars if i could. I ordered two cabinets that required assembly. Im handy, It was impossible. 22 pieces and i got 4 together and it all fell apart. No bolts or screws, just loose pegs and some crazy plastic switch fastener that spun and pulled out, came undone. I bought metal brackets, drilled holes, glued the pegs, taped the fasteners in place. And worked on it for 3 days. i could not assemble more than 4 pieces without collapse. It s not wood, some pressed composite, nothing will hold it together, panels are warped, dont aline. Customer service refused to refund me for the second unopened cabinet, expecting me to pay return shipping, fed ex for a 74 pound package. Country Door sells cheap made in China junky inferior products and they know it, hence the poor return policy. Yes 50 apologies but No satisfaction. Im out the additional ( large item, non refundable) shipping, return shipping, handling(?) cost of additional hardware, many hours of work and frustration and the complete cost to return the second unopened cabinet.They may be ok for a rug or seasonal trinket, but do not purchase anything large and expensive. They dont test or stand behind their products and have lost me as a customer!

Long time customer appalled!!
Well I have been a customer with Country Door since 2004. I have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise. I haven’t purchased within the past 2 years because I haven’t had the need. Recently I have been looking to buy a new bedspread & curtains because we just moved to a new house & I want to make my bedroom look awesome. I probably have bought approximately 10 bedspreads within the past few years; I’m Bedspread Freak!!
However, yesterday I purchased a bedspread and curtains and the total was around $200.00. A few hours later I received my order details via email (as usual). I was appalled when I saw the actual bill! My $200.00 order was almost $300.00. Due to shipping, taxes, and a TARIFF SURCHARGE!! I’m hoping these absorbent fees will be investigated by the Attorney General or the National Banking Corporation!! These gauging
charges must be illegal. I have never paid almost $40.00 shipping for a bedspread & pair of curtains which have been packed airtight with practically no weight!! I’m not gonna stop here; I’m going to continue to make my voice heard. This impractical way to conduct business is totally unacceptable!

Not sure this is a legit business. Called them and sadly I recoded about 50 “I’m sorry” comments. Thru are most interested in filling out their complete database with all your information before providing any help. Do NOT buy from this company.
HORRIBLE unresponsive customer service
HORRIBLE unresponsive customer service. I'd give them 0 if that was an option. An account was fraudulently opened in my wife's name and CD is sending us a bill for items we didn't order. We have called 4 times and spent over two hours on hold or being transferred to people who don't care and can't do anything to resolve the issue. We simply want to get charges removed and the account closed. This is still pending and today we received a letter from them demanding a notarized form to close the account. No mention of our time and expense for resolution. Needless to say, we do not recommend this company or any of their affiliates. You can tell a lot about a company and their character when something goes wrong.

FED EX ALSO REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. YET COUNTRY DOOR SEEMS TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE I AM TO SEND ME A BILL AND REPORT MY NONEXISTENT MERCHANDISE TO THE CREDIT BUREAU. THEY AND FED EX ABSOLUTELY SUCK.

Do not shop here. I sent Christmas presents to relatives address under my account and they made an account for her and sent here the bill. Once you get someone on the telephone after an hour wait, they tell you that you have to pay for a notary saying you will pay it under your account. How can you just use someone else's name and give them an account? Fraud.....
I have been receiving country Door…
I have been receiving Country Door catalogs for years in my mail. I have always enjoyed looking through the decor and decorating ideas that they have. So this Christmas I decided to make a purchase. Only to find out, that the credit account stated in the magazine is not really a credit line. Although I have good credit they turned down my order. What a shame, if I had known they were going to do that to me I would have either used my own credit card or bought it somewhere else. It's a disappointment it was a pretty stained Glass lamp with Cardinals. I guess I'll just take my business and my good money somewhere else. I talked to the credit department and they gave me the same spiel that the CSR did. So what a let down I have loved looking at those catalogs over the years. Please use caution before ordering anything from this company. Happy New Year

Katya joy is a party INMY catalog. That's the same company sister company. They also mail you a refund checks, didn't use a method of payment, I request all you nice folks that you want to buy stuff off of them because prices look good. Actually, it's better going into Walmart without having a hassle by these companies, they tell you. Well, we try to send it back to method of payment, but they never try to send it back to Mesa payment, they just lied to you and tell you they do and then they said we had to refund you a check back people. Stop dealing with country door and GIN. EY Jenny's catalog the full s*** they tell you that your package is processing when you're trying to cancel it and it's not, it's like 21 to 24 hours for processing time, they lie to you on the telephone, people wake up, go back to Walmart. They will send you a refund check, but you need your money before Christmas. Yeah, it takes forever to get a refund check from country door or Jenny's G that's GIN NEY Jenny's catalog people. $24 was added to my receipt after I authorized a charge. I tried to cancel the order but of course that was not possible.

No Return Labels Allowed
Called customer service to request a return label only to be informed that "they do not give customers return labels". Blah, blah, blah, later the CSR tells me that they are not responsible if I ordered the wrong size! (Ordered a hat first time a "hat" didn't fit correctly). I then ask to speak with a Supervisor or Manager in which I am told that they, the supervisor/manager would only tell me the same thing she just did. I asked "what kind of company does not give you a return label? Never doing business with them ever again and I am contacting the BBB next.
