If you’re wondering if this works, it does. But you have to understand that there is no magic bullet. You have to be ready to do the work. And changing your habits means changing your mind, and that is always the most challenging to change. I gave the program 4 stars because the information, the videos, the worksheets, everything you are given is set up well enough, but the little bit of a gamble is in which coach you get. I was incredibly blessed with a coach who fit me so perfectly and that might have just been the best luck ever for me. She did move on to find another opportunity after working with me for several months, and after that I didn’t feel quite the same satisfaction with the next coach I was paired with. Human variability, everyone has their own style. But I’m so so thankful for my luck with the perfect coach for me I had for most of the program.

Life changing

I had been gaining weight rapidly and felt out of control over the last few years. My main reason to join this program was to lose weight - I knew working on my mindset would be able to help me with this.

After 16 weeks, I feel like the changes have been life changing. I'm happier not only in general, but with my body. I exercise regularly for enjoyment. I consistently get up earlier. I sleep better and wake up refreshed. I have more energy throughout the day. I'm more focused and productive; a better worker, friend and partner. I'm never going back to where I came from.

And most importantly? I stopped gaining weight. I've even started to lose weight. This felt impossible to me before - but now I see that it's just a natural progression of all the lifestyle and mindset changes I've made.

In regards to food - the food noise has diminished, I cook more often at home and eat far more wholefoods - veg, fruit, protein etc. I would no longer call myself somebody with a "sweet tooth."

In regards to the course - I found the online modules relevant and engaging, and I really enjoyed "learning". The coaching calls with Chris were a great opportunity to get 1:1 support to overcome any obstacles I was facing.

If life can change this month in the space of 16 weeks, I can't imagine what the next 16 weeks holds!

DT was a huge financial commitment but…

DT was a huge financial commitment but so worth it as I had the most amazing Coach, Ali! She helped me to recognize a lot about myself I never realized was driving me to emotionally eat. Although I’m not 100% where I’d like to be, I’m soooo much better than I used to be. Can’t thank Ali and the program more for helping me deal with one of the most challenging things in my life!

Default Thinking has changed my life! I can’t thank Chris Dasca and Ali Dear enough for everything they have taught me and mostly for the positive encouragement they have shown me on this journey! I highly recommend Default Thinking to anyone who has struggled with their weight and emotional eating as I have for my entire life. Not only am I changing myself, but I am now an example for my family to change bad generational habits of overeating. I am so blessed that I found Chris on Instagram and took a leap of Faith! This program truly works!! And believe me, I’ve tried EVERYTHING else! Thank you so much for helping me create a beautiful life for myself again❤️🙏🏻

Changed my life for the better!

I’ll be the first to admit that I was skeptical at first because it is a bit of a financial commitment and I’ve never been a person to spend money on myself. At the end of my 4 months with the DT program (and throughout it!), I am honestly SO SO happy that I invested the time and money in myself. My coach Sue was INCREDIBLE. She was my cheerleader but also held me accountable and taught me how to adjust my mindset to achieve my goals; not just weight loss goals but overall health, wellness, perspective, and my approach to stress. I am a super busy person (mom of 2 young kids, many pets, solo practitioner veterinarian and business owner in the US), and this program helped me organize my life and learn to make choices that are in line with my goals for health and happiness. Highly recommend! Practice, practice, practice and the things you are practicing then become habit. :)

Loving the program

Loving the program. I used to emotionally eat and find the first sweets nearby. Now I am able to use different strategies and the emotional eating has decreased. I’m so glad I did this program!

One of the best decisions in my life

I was trying several things to lose weight for more than 20 years, but the results were never sustainable. DT helped me find the reasons why. I learned to establish a healthy relationship with food, stopped overeating and comfort eating. By following through Chris' concept of the program and with the outstanding and absolutely tailored help of my wonderful coach Sue, I was able to replace unhealthy habits and limiting beliefs with an empowering mindset and healthy routines. Sue is extremely empathetic, caring and inspiring and I'm grateful beyond words for her support on this amazing journey. I fully recommend it to anyone who wants to work on a meaningful change in their lifes. Having joined DT was one of the best decisions in my life!

Horrendously inflexible and will steal your money

Horrendously inflexible. Services are sold as customizable and not one size fits all. However that is not how it works in practice. Do not sign with them, especially if you are in the USA. They will keep your entire fee unreasonable even if you’ve barely used their services because they misrepresent what they do.

This is a one of a kind experience putting you in the drivers seat to take control of your eating and your body and mind's health and wellness. Kind of like drivers ed for our eating. The support is unparalleled. The methods work. After being cynical and trying everything....this was actually different and effective. And it truly works for real, for long term!!!!!

Learn how to access your subconscious to your advantage

Working with Ali Dear one of the coaches at Default Thinking has been revolutionary. I have tried so many methods in the past, but never really anything that directly tapped into my subconscious. I was surprised to discover that my subconscious us very impressionable and some of the methods she has been using with me have been transforming my thoughts, identity and mindset from the core. I am grateful that I enrolled in this program and have had the opportunity to learn from Ali and Chris. If you are feeling stuck or feel like you’ve tried everything for your overeating, I recommend this program.

Thank you Sue <3

I have spent the past 10 years yo-yo dieting, telling myself I am going to lose weight, only for the scales to keep creeping up. I thought I had all the knowledge, all the tools but lacked the discipline. However, since working with my amazing coach Sue, I came to realise that I had been conditioned by the diet industry to believe calorie counting was the only way. Although, I ate healthy what I had was set of limiting beliefs and unhealthy mindset and relationship with food. Sue has been the highlight of the past 16 weeks. I have looked forward to sharing my positive journey with her each week. She is honestly an angel! She is so knowledgeable, so compassionate, and she has changed my life for the better. She had helped me to reframe my beliefs, shift to a positive and abundance mindset and empowered me to take action. I am no longer concerned about the finish line but excited for the journey ahead! No words will ever be able to express my gratitude but from the bottom of my heart, thank you Sue.

Eye Opening & Life Changing!

DT has been such an eye opening and life changing experience, not just from a weight management perspective, but for my mental wellbeing and mindset. DT focuses on identifying the root causes of overeating instead of just implementing diet and lifestyle changes. I know all the strategies for losing weight (healthy eating and exercise of course) but I wasn’t being disciplined and was constantly battling with my own thoughts when it came to food. Food consumed a lot of my thoughts; I was always hungry and I would resort to food to comfort me in stressful times, when I was bored, and even when I was happy. Learning the reasons WHY I was snacking all the time helped me to become more aware in those situations and implement strategies to manage my emotions so that I didn’t turn to food. Aside from nutrition, I also loved all the positive mindset and state management tools that are discussed. This is my biggest takeaway from the program; how to better manage my emotions; how to maintain focus and strive to achieve my goals; and simply how to be a happier, brighter and more motivated person. I also give a huge thanks to my wonderful Coach, Sue who supported me along the way with inspiring and motivational messages, listening to all my thoughts and feelings from the week, and brainstorming strategies on how to take on the challenges I faced. I found our catch ups so uplifting and inspiring. For anyone who is feeling lost of scattered with their health and wellbeing, this is a great program to pull you into line and create a more mindful and direct path for the future.

I was discouraged and hopeless before DT

I have tried so many different "diets" and programs over the last 10 years and had gotten to a point of real discouragement and low confidence that my body was broken and I couldn't lose the 50 pounds I wanted to lose. I stumbled on default thinking and thought that I hadn't tapped into my beliefs around food and that it was worth a try. I was scared and very low confidence. Chris gives a lot of really great information that has helped me to grow and start to change my relationship with food. I think the 16 weeks is imperative because I really started seeing some BIG changes in the last few weeks. A shorter program would not have had the pay off. I am still working to lose weight, but feel confident that I have a lot of new skills to help me. I have gained a real freedom from food which has come from the brain work I have done with DT and feeling better by eating healthier. Sue, my coach was a great listener and gave me very custom amazing advice that helped so much! The price was painful, but I do feel like I received a lot of "counseling" and emotional help which would have cost me more than this program. Thank you to DT for teaching me how to go about these food issues in a different way and really getting to the root of my relationship with food!

Game Changer!

The DT Method is so different than all the other programs out there. It actually does when it says it will do, and targets the root causes of the issues so you can make permanent changes. It’s personalised to your specific needs and there’s so much support available. I couldn’t recommend it anymore.

DT has changed my life for the better. Before starting the program, I struggled with emotional eating and overeating. I would lose weight but could never keep it off. No more cycling through fad diets!

As a serial yo-yo dieter, I was drawn to the DT program for the way it tackles the psychological relationship with food. My issues weren’t with understanding health and nutrition – I could follow a diet and lose weight. But I’d always fall into old habits and traps and put the weight back on. Reaching ultimate frustration with myself, the DT program was a lifeline. I was pretty skeptical in the beginning (knowing myself all too well), but I immersed myself in the program and put effort into the activities that really unpacked emotional eating and what it would mean for me if I didn’t master it. Soon enough, I understood why my brain was channeling food for the wrong reasons and I was able to shift my mindset, stop reaching for habitual snacks and start making better choices. Chris is passionately devoted to the DT program and his mission to help people take control of their relationship with food, with a key focus on a realistic approach for long-term sustainability. I highly recommend Default Thinking to anyone that has the drive to change their habits but is feeling like they can’t beat their impulses for emotional eating – Chris will empower you to win back control!

The DT program can help changing your life

I've joined the DT program after a great call with Chris. I knew I've needed help to overcome my overeating, emotional eating and binge eating habits. I've tried to manage to lose weight alone before but I always gained back the weight I've lost. I was so frustrated and depressed about it. Chris had a similar bad relationship with food in the past like me and was able to overcome these obstacles and I had the feeling that Chris was understanding what I was talking about. So I've decided to give it a try and see what happens and we were really a good fit. I needed a bit more than 10-15mins a day to go through the program and use the tools and techniques in the right way for my success but it was totally worth it. So far I have lost 8 kilogram and I'm really proud about it. I really recommend this program to everyone who wants to lose weight and improve his relationship with food. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help.

Life changing

After over 15 years of weighing food and counting calories with limited success, I've finally been able to free myself to eat mindfully and intuitively. I've lost ten kilograms to date, and the end goal no longer seems unattainable. I no longer crave takeaway and processed foods. I still have them from time to time and I enjoy them. But it stops at the end of the meal and I'm right back on track. No longer does one slip up or 'bad meal' trigger a binge cycle.
This program takes time and dedication. You really do need to leave your ego at the door and dive in whole heartedly. You have to commit and do the tasks, you're not going to just wing your way through it. And at the end, you're going to be so glad you took the plunge. The sense of pride and achievement is unreal, the fact that I can sit and cross my legs comfortably is amazing. I move faster in my day to day life. I get up more easily, I smile more and I want people to notice me, to see me and to comment on my weight loss because it really is noticeable and I'm so bloody proud! This is only my first chapter and I'm so glad I committed to this journey. Sign up. Do the work. Love yourself sick in your new body!
