Failed to Complete Paid Upon Services
In March 2024, we hired Docyt for catch-up bookkeeping services for 2023 and to address 2022 legacy bookkeeping errors. Despite paying $2,800 in five installments, Docyt failed to complete the 2023 work, claiming they needed an opening balance, which required their help with 2022’s books. They acknowledged receipt of the necessary documentation but did not initiate the 2022 work or clarify the need for an additional contract until the situation escalated.
Additionally, discrepancies in 2024 1099 forms, if uncorrected, could have led to overpaying $160,000 in taxes. Docyt attributed these issues to "report configuration" instead of acknowledging misclassifications. No changes were made until the discrepancies were manually flagged.
Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issues—such as requesting updates, providing documentation, and setting a deadline—Docyt ignored requests, did not provide a written resolution, and refused to communicate in writing. This experience has caused financial uncertainty, stress, wasted time, and potential legal repercussions due to inaccurate tax reporting.
We are filing this complaint to warn other consumers of Docyt’s unprofessionalism, failure to deliver services, and deceptive communication practices.
