I would like to comment on the excellent service we have received from Dorset Properties.
The team are professional, hardworking, and always strive to do their very best. The level of service and attention to detail we have experienced has been exceptional. Any queries or concerns were responded to within a day, which I feel is more than reasonable, and we could not have asked for more.
I would highly recommend both the company and the team for their dedication and professionalism.
Sadly, in this day and age, it is impossible to please everyone all of the time. However, from our experience, Dorset Properties have never failed to deliver an excellent service.

Dear Mr Caines, whilst we appreciate you providing your feedback we would like to highlight that the information supplied is incorrect. Your initial email received on 21st April 2026 at 12:08pm regarding two queries relating to a property for let was responded to the same day just 20 minutes after receipt of your email. Your review therefore seems somewhat unfair as it provides false information. We are sorry to hear you feel our service wasn't adequate.

Professional and Friendly. Don't believe everything you read, it appears some people try to take it out on the agent when they are unsuccessful in their application. My experience with Dorset Property has been great. From start to finish their team has been very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend them to any Tenant or Landlord alike!

One let down after another
I was trying to find a property for renting with Dorset Property.
Their application form is shocking as they are asking "How much rent will be happy to pay for this property?" I find it very unfair that they are offering it for a price but it appears this price is just the start point for bidding amongst the other applicants. Utterly disgusting.
Moreover, when I left a voicemail to give me a call back and update me about another property, they never called back.
With another property the application went ahead, I met the landlords on Saturday, was expecting call back on Monday with yay or nay - no phone call on Monday. Tuesday morning at 7am the property was marked as "Let agreed" on Rightmove. I left it until 3pm that day to give them a chance to call me. They didn't. When I called them they said their agent was "just writing an email to let me know as the let was agree just that afternoon". I am a very trusting person but this was a clear lie. Just pick up the phone to let me know. I never received the email either.
I am utterly disgusted with their service. I haven't heard good things about this agency from my friends either.

Dear Jana, Thank you for taking the time to provide details on your experience. At Dorset Property we use a third party to carry out referencing whom also provide the pre-application forms you refer to that ask about the rent you are happy to pay. The reason for this question is not to encourage a bidding war, far from it, this is so that we have an understanding of your budget should the property you are applying for be let to another applicant. We can then successfully match you to other properties that suit your requirements. From the information you have provided I can see that you enquired about a property we begun advertising in June and the following day were contacted to provide your details and a viewing was arranged in the same phone call. We can see since your review, you sent in a further enquiry for another property we were marketing and a viewing was arranged with you. In fact, you were accepted for a tenancy at this property, once we had begun to set up the prospective tenancy, you then advised your circumstances had changed and you withdrew from the offer. If you would be happy to contact us directly regarding the other experiences from friends, we will be happy to resolve any issues.
Avoid if possible
We used Dorset Properties (Leon Gullies who was manager and is now apparently not working there, conveniently) to rent out last property Finchgate Bungalow Thornford.
What he failed to tell us is that there is no council tax banding for this property, and had some deal with the landlady. We have moved out now as the landlady wishes to sell.
We are awaiting a banding of the Annexe we rented for the last 14 months from the council and Valuation Office.
The property has so many issues with damp, and leaks, it's old and not maintained at all.
I have tried to contact Leon Directly in regards to our deposit, to which as of today I received an automated "I do not work here anymore" message.
I would give this company and him specifically a very wide birthday before signing anything.
Also video and photograph everything when you move in. If you have evidence of what you say, the Tenancy Deposit Scheme will support you. Shame it takes so long though.

We would like the opportunity to correct some factual inaccuracies contained within this review.
This property in question is an Annexe and as such, specific requirements determine if the local authority treat the accommodation separately for the purposes of Council Tax liability. This was the circumstances around this let. Dorset Property were instructed by the Landlord to find a Tenant on an Introductory service. This means the Landlord is responsible to set up utility accounts for their Tenant and liaise with the Local Authority.
Maintenance issues throughout the tenancy are the responsibility of the Landlord when managing their own property and not that of the Agent that advertised the property for let initially.
The Tenants’ Deposit was protected within a Government Scheme on behalf of the Landlord at the start of the tenancy. Any negotiations relating to dilapidation and deductions are the responsibility of the Landlord at the end of the tenancy on an Introductory service. Dorset Property were not responsible for any proposals in this specific case.
Whilst we are sorry to learn that this Tenant has had a negative experience after agreeing to rent a property through Dorset Property earlier in the year, the circumstances around the outcome are not as a direct result of specific actions taken by Leon or any other Employee of Dorset Property.
Lovely service
I have been assisted by Helena from Dorchester team to find a letting in Weymouth. She has been very helpful. As this is my first letting, I had so many queries, she handled it very swiftly.

Unprofessionalism, Misleading Information
I am deeply disappointed by the unprofessional and misleading experience I had with Dorset Property in Wimborne. When I contacted you regarding the advertised flat, I was informed that an immediate viewing couldn't be arranged due to the current occupancy. Despite my strong interest and willingness to offer a higher monthly price than advertised, I was unfairly denied the opportunity to do so. It is particularly upsetting to learn that the property was taken by someone who had already viewed it before the viewing day we would have. Their handling of the situation reflects a lack of transparency and disregard for potential tenants. I must also mention that the behaviour of their staff was exceptionally rude throughout my interactions with them.

Thank you for your feedback. Our team were correct in advising you an immediate appointment would not be possible in this situation. With tenanted/occupied properties we are contractually required to provide the Tenant with at least 24 hours written notice of an appointment at the property and access must be arranged via agreement with the Tenant. A Tenant has the right to quiet enjoyment by law and this means we cannot expect them to allow access to their home with little to no notice. We are unable to identify how you may have been misled based on the information provided.
Exceptional and Professional
My husband and I had the pleasure of working with all three ladies who are based at Blandford forum.
They were all extremely helpful, informative, honest and efficient when getting our paperwork through. Any questions we had they were quick to find an answer to. I would HIGHLY recommend using them, as we will be again.
