Drive took over "Honest John", an invaluable, independent, real world database of motoring feedback back on pretty much every popular production car in the last 25+ years. Real world mpg, owner feedback, faults, +/- data, every little detail you need to buy a second hand car.
All flushed down the toilet in the name of corporate greed.

Drive? Yet another bunch of sewer dwellers only focused on money.

Where's the Real MPG data gone? Single most useful bit of vehicle purchasing data in the country was the user contributed MPG figures and now that data in inaccessible. Bring it back!

Honest John was perfect .. it’s the old saying why change something when it’s not broken!!
Here’s an opportunity for real dedicated advisors like that of Honest John to start up a new site which offers everything that drivers really need!!

This “Drive” doesn’t offer anywhere near the helpful advice/information and when it’s backed by a particular car company I expect there will be no bias opinions 🙄… of course!

Ruined the best resource for car reviews. Where has the Subaru Crosstrek review gone? Why can you only search for cars for sale... not find the car you want from the reviews first.

What a pile of 💩. Bring back Honest John please 🙏

Drive have systematically and by there own strange logic completely destroyed the many benefits and truths of the “Honest John” telegraph car advice and review site . Great shame, many users relied on this site for much historical motor data from real time users not corporate clap trap . Kindly reinstate Honest John !!

This Drive one doesn't contain anywhere near the amount of reviews that Honest John had!

What have you done with Honest John? I tried to get some real world information about a Mercedes A Class. You've ruined it. Bloody terrible shame, this is just AutoTrader, I shall not be returning.

Went to the Honest John website but it is now no longer and has supposedly been merged onto Drive.
I have tried to use Drive but it just doesn’t work on my iPhone, the website isn’t loading fully and seems to lock up. I have tried it on a few days but always the same.
So goodbye Honest John, and I’m afraid Drive is not for me, so in future I will be looking for information elsewhere.

Bought a Passat via HeyCar in 2022 from an Edinburgh dealer Motorchoice. Precisely around 20-Apr-2022.
The car itself is all ok, 3 years on trying to sell it this month. Motorway did a historical mileage search and found big discrepancy.
Not sure what kind of checks HeyCar does on car saying their “HPI” checks are all clear. I am stuck with working with DVLA to correct these issue - if that’s even possible. Happy to share registration details if anyone wants to know if this is genuine.
Absolute waste of time , think I relied a little too much on these guys so could be me here proven naive.
Warning for all - do your own thorough checks or best buy approved used only for original dealers.

The relates to Heycar in Hull. I'd paid a reservation fee for a car that was still be prepared for sale. Mike called me and explained it needed a new gearbox and it wasn't worth the cost to put one in for how much they were selling it for, so the sale was cancelled. I think it shows integrity that they let me know and didn't sell me it and hope it lasted long enough for it to be out of warranty. Really appreciated them being honest and cancelling the sale instead of ripping me off.

No V5. Have to pay £25 to get a new V5, and dvla do not recommend buying a car without a V5. Have checked with RAC and car is not write-off, stolen or in debt. Also would not recommend because person I contact is on annual leave : in the past three weeks she’s been off for two of them but not continuously. She comes back, goes off… professional outfit would also have a proper checklist of things you need to be road legal - insurance Mot tax v5. Anyway. Nothing illegal or overly shady, but certainly they fall below the standards which would have people using them again and recommending.

Great communication, easy to speak to someone on the phone! The process was straightforward and I've got a great car out of it. Petya and Diogo were really helpful and friendly. Very pleased with everything :)
