Forced into payment plans that are not affordable! After all bills are paid i am left with £100 but they demanded a payment plans of £300 all they want to do is push you further into debt and as soon as you cant make that unaffordable payment you are hit with an enforcement visit at £400 extra

You keep sending my mother threatening letters saying she owes money to east riding council i can assure she doesn't as ive been in contact with them abd she doesn't owe them anything like you say she does oh by the way she's 86 year old pensioner living on her own you dont even tell her what its for so just back of from her otherwise I will take legal action Muppets
Extremely rude and arrogant phone agent
I rang them today and after being on hold for over an hour ,I spoke to a young sounding very obnoxious agent .
He obviously inputted the figures wrong that I gave him.as the system said I had £100 extra spare .
I have £80 in my bank and he wanted £76 today to set up the arrangement. It didnt happen.
I have £110 left each month and he wanted £96 .Which I know is illegal.!!
I told him it was illegal and he basically told me its not illegal and Im stupid .
We lost my mum a month ago and there is zero compassion,with this company .
They deliberately cause even more stress in an already stressful situation.

Spoken to a few agents absolutely embarrassing company no compassion or understanding of situations, been told to pay more than I even have left over at the end of the month, and when I told them I can’t afford it I was told well you will have a agent come to your door and will add more money onto my debt , having this as your job already tells me the kind of person you are anyway, disgusting company 0 help 0 understanding 0 compassion I hope they are all ashamed of themselves and never have to go through the same life struggles
BULLY BOY AND UNDERHAND TACTICS
has anyone else noticed that they write you a letter telling you that you have 7 days but the letter arrives 6/7 days after the date on the letter, so you have zero time to respond...bully boy and underhand tactics. I am reporting this to the ECB, I am not sure why they feel the need to act dodgy, I have written emails and no one responds and after reading about being on hold for a long time I refuse to ring these muppets because I will lose my head.

Would give zero bur to how I was treated. Knew I I need to pay the money but been made to pay more than I could afford and since setting the payment plan up I can consent text about the payment. They make people how are struggling feel like shit no compassion. The agent was named Mark
Absolutely criminal
Absolutely criminal. Paying £40 a month and second bailiff showed up today - same debt different year. I assumed the whole debt was covered in £40 payment. But oh no. Tried calling, in a queue for 57 mins just to be cut off. Is another agent coming next month for same debt, different year.
Long wait in queue
They solved my problem today, it was good communication and easy to understand and problem fixed but after 75 min of waiting on the phone, long queue. Chat same I was waiting long time without any agent reply. So they must improve the time of answering the phone or the chat.

Award winning ..
Award winning ... at telling porkies and not giving information, and ignoring a genuine request. Was phoned by an "agent" who claimed to put a letter in my door , this didn't happen , and company said they would look into it . Got a Blunt text back said he did put a letter in. I needed proof as I dont believe for i second he attended my property. And got charged 420£ for this pleasure.

I had a Council Tax bill for some £650…
I had a Council Tax bill for some £650 which (being an idiot) I ignored, so it was transferred to Duke's for collection.
I also ignored the polite letters through snailmail.
I finally got an email today, reminding me that I was about to get charged an extra £235 if I didn't do something about this debt.
So I took 10 minutes to log on, and go to live chat.
I was responded to by Lucy.
She was polite, pleasant, nice as pie and helped me work a payment plan which I could afford.
No drama, no lengthy series of questions, no poking into income & expenditure, just a straightforward "How about this?" and it suited just fine.
We changed due dates a little,which Lucy did immediately, and that was that.
TL;DR - Duke's have a job to do, and if you're polite and timely with them, they are as equally polite with you.

Room for Improvement
At the outset when i started using Dukes to chase my business debtors they were pretty good and all reports arrived promptly and efficiently. However, over the last year i have noticed a deterioration in their service and i have now moved to another company who seem to be able to get payment from debtors where Dukes were not able to get payment??! Settlement reports were not emailed when payment was made and i have often had to chase these. Dukes could do a lot better than their current form.
Vile company
Once again tried to arrange a payment plan with these people. Explained the situation and that I’ve been in contact with stepchange who advised a payment amount in line with my current financial situation. Spoke to Molly Dean and requested a paper copy of an incoming / outgoing form as could not download form. She said they wanted bank statements instead as I couldn’t download form. I refused as they do not have authority to request these and explained I would commence with the payment stepchange advised. The delightful ( sarcasm ) Molly Dean then responded that no payment plan has been accepted and bailiffs will call incurring further debt. She did not try to assist me in any way choosing to completely ignore my situation. These people are not interested in helping or understanding. They will not enter into payment plans that are affordable and manageable and only want the most amount of money in the least amount of time. Then they add more money onto a debt that you are already struggling to pay. There is no compassion or empathy. Instead of treating people as individuals it’s like they are all reading off the same script and will not deviate from this. I will not be bullied or intimidated into paying more than i can comfortably afford. Money is a means to an end. If I haven’t got it you can’t have it. It’s as simple as that. I would advise the company to employ AI as I feel robots would show more human understanding than the people you currently employ.

Easy worry free experience
We were given a simple route to empowering our claim in order that enforcement was successful
unfortunately they play the system…
unfortunately they play the system well. they do their very best to be awkward enough to get it to the enforcement stage. they do this by using incorrect addresses on mail and as per the dozens of other reviews, they dont answer the phone.
they sent a letter stating we owed a balance on a commercial rent. but despite having our new address they sent it to the old address, hoping we woulnt get it. thankfully we got the letter upon collecting old mail. so we called them and remained on hold for 5 minutes. when i couldnt get hold of them, i paid the original claimant in full to close the matter.
4 days later an enforcement agent (very nice guy tbf) turns up. he claims we still owe the balance. we prove that this is paid. so as he hasnt wasted his time, he changes the balance to just their first letter fee. this allowed him to not have a wasted journey and still hit us will full bailiff costs. i proved to him, we sat on hold for 5 minutes, and had no choice but to pay their client directly.
i have raised a complaint with the enforcement conduct board. but i fear they all piss in the same pot.
when i explained its not our fault if dukes wont answer the phone or send letters to incorrect addresses. he replied that 5 minutes is not long enough to wait.
for anyone agreeing with that, please hold your phone and count to 300. if dukes dont have the staff to keep up with people calling to pay, they should not be able to push on with enforcement.
i will probably lose, but i will purse this on principle to anyone that i can.
Unfortunately it becomes apparent that the last thing this company wants is a customer to call and settle. its in their interest to avoid that scenario so that they earn more. That is extremely concerning.
Polite and competent
Polite operative who listened to me before making comment. Luke was polite at all times and dealt with the situation in a calm manner. He was competent and understanding while explaining the parameters he had to work within. An amicable resolution was reached
Unlawful Harassment Despite Legal Protection – A Dangerous Company
This company has zero respect for legal process or human decency.
After submitting a TE7 and TE9 statutory declaration to the Traffic Enforcement Centre (TEC), which under Civil Procedure Rule 75.8 means all enforcement must pause. Dukes Bailiffs continued to harass me with threats to remove goods. I informed them clearly that the case was with TEC, yet they chose to ignore that and even had the audacity to say, “That’s not how we work.”
Sorry, but bailiffs don’t get to rewrite the law to suit their tactics.
They demanded personal data just to “verify” me, but ignored the legal documents I had already submitted to the court. This isn’t enforcement, it’s intimidation. And it’s happening while TEC is reviewing my case, making their actions both unlawful and unethical.
I’ve filed a complaint with CIVEA, and I would urge others to do the same if you’re being bullied or lied to by this company. Dukes Bailiffs clearly count on people not knowing their rights but don’t give them that power.
Avoid them like a virus.
EDITED: Thank you for responding, but let’s not pretend this is new. You’ve had my full name, PCN, vehicle reg, and multiple emails detailing the TE7 and TE9 statutory declaration filed with the TEC on 19 June 2025.
Your team continued to send threats of enforcement after that submission. You also ignored clear written warnings and then shut down your own email reply path and only to now suggest I contact you privately again.
Let’s not confuse the public here. The issue isn’t missing reference numbers, it’s that your company refused to follow Civil Procedure Rule 75.8, which states enforcement must be paused once a statutory declaration is submitted, not once TEC confirms it to you. Let’s be clear.
I’ve already submitted a complaint to CIVEA and will share every communication as evidence. Don’t act confused, act accountable.

Absolutely scum I've tried to set up a plan with them I missed 5 payment plans and I rang this morning to see if I can sort another plan out as spike to hull city Council and tgey said get onto dukes and tell them about your situation I did the prick on the other end off the phone wasn't no help he threatened me with the story off I be having enforcement officers at my door and getting things out my house first but got get threw my door past my bully x dog to get in they wouldn't take a offer and told them about my anxiety depression suicide thoughts ge said what do you want mebto do about it and I just ended my call they don't want to help you they just being arsholes
