This is the worst goddamn website ever. The teacher sucks and just drones on, the quizzes are hard, the writing has flagged me for AI 6 times and I’m only halfway through the class. I have never procrastinated in my life, until now. This website is going to be the end of me. It’s impossible to learn, the material is outdated, and you are forced to do like three days of work a day just to stay on track. And then when you’re even slightly behind, it lowers your grade by like 8 percent and makes you feel bad about yourself. I am a 3.9 GPA student and have never had this kind of trouble with a class. I am not one to cheat, but I have been forced to google almost every single question in this class, because I don’t learn anything. PLEASE GOD, DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE UNLESS YOU HATE YOUR LIFE AND WANT TO MAKE IT A LIVING HELL.

It only gives you the bare minimum of the education students need to pass and it doesn't explain questions nor problems correctly and the tutors give false information almost all the time with attitude of a 12 year old. inaccurate percents and grades are also a problem. i mean 28 percent for 1 question wrong out of 25 is insane.

Edgenuity has to be one of if not the worst programs I've been forced to use in the last few years. I'm also writing this for my buds as well since we've been dealing with Edgenuity together.

First off, the grading system:
The grading system in Edgenuity is complete dogshit, and it's especially horrid for pretests since if you want to skip a lesson, you have to get at least 80 percent. 80 PERCENT. Not 70, not 60, 80. But for Unit Tests it's a different story as you can get 70 or higher and pass, so why not have it match the pretests? Not to mention the fact that if you get 70 percent on a pretests, then a whole new can of worms gets opened.

The Lessons:
The Lessons in edgenuity are awful, just awful. If classwork had filler content, this would be it. Most of the videos are minutes long which may not sound too bad, until they feel soulless to the point where it feels like an eternity until the video is over. And I have to mention the quality of the videos, they can be absolutely horrid to the point where I question if I misheard something or if I was going crazy. Also, some videos just straight up don't have subtitles, like how? If every other video has subtitles, even those that are seconds long, then all of the videos should have subtitles. If you're able to get through the videos, which you are forced to, you cannot speed up the video, can't slow it down, nothing, you have the 'Assignments' which are just filler busy work, some of it not even matching up with prior videos. And don't get me started on the essays, I don't mind writing, but it gets to a point where I can easily skip them or just type a few keywords and it'll think I did an entire essay. It's stupid, cause someone could write multiple paragraphs and have it counted as wrong, while someone else can just write a few simple words and pass on by.

The Teachers:
The teachers themselves probably aren't bad people but it is obvious that most if not all of them are doing these 'lessons' just so they can get paid. There is no life in the videos, no way to keep the audience interested, nothing. Just pure lectures that will bore the hell outta you. Worse part being that there is no way to speed things up or skip certain parts of their lectures, making things take longer.

Other Things:
Some other things on the site that are awful is the fact that they haven't updated information that should be updated. This results in times where an answer SHOULD be correct, but turns out, it's something else that is entirely incorrect in the current day. Another thing is how choppy the site is being held up, there are many times where I've seen people's tab just break without any effort, from being logged out randomly while doing a lesson, to crashing out of nowhere, to taking forever to load things up while being timed, yeah, it's not fun. Not to mention the fact that courses are inconsistent, one lesson may take about a week, maybe less, then another takes multiple weeks up to a month because the progress bar takes an eternity to move. Honestly, I hope Edgenuity fails in the next upcoming years, I know it sounds harsh but it's the truth. It has done nothing in the current day except making people despise it every waking day by students all over, myself included. If there are any higher ups in ANY schools that plan to use Edgenuity, don't. It's better for both you, and your students to not deal with the hell that is Edgenuity.

Our school uses edgenuity...and I can say that I'd rather use IXL than edgenuity because I swear to everything good in this world that I am not learning anything from the videos even when I take carefully,detailed,and informed notes. I literally stayed up late for 5 days straight. Edgenuity also gives less assignment which is why I'm stuck in the same percentage rate than how high my teacher expects it to be and they're pressuring me everyday into getting it up.

It makes learning unnecessarily stressful by just piling lots of work on you, and once you get behind it's basically impossible to catch up without spending all day working.

The actual videos are Incredibly boring and I just can't bring myself to give a crap about them.

In my experience as a high school student, I felt program had extremely unfair grading. To start, the countless amount of monotonous videos were oftentimes useless and had nothing to do with the following writing prompt or quiz. Other times, however, the quiz would ask for extremely specific details of the sometimes over 20 minutes worth of videos that one would be lucky to remember. The videos also felt repetitive, extending a video that could be 2-3 minutes long to a 10 minute video. With that being said, the option to “speed” up the video was unnoticeable. Next, the writing prompt assignments after the video were buggy and very demanding. The system that grades the writing looks for “key words” in the writing rather than writing quality or simply a correct answer. A student who genuinely tries and writes a well formatted response and still receive a 0% if the key words are not included.
These assignments can greatly lower one’s grade. Finally, the quizzes felt unfair. There were multiple instances of opinion questions in multiple choice for a grade. Furthermore, before the quiz is taken, it says that you have 2 attempts to get the grade you want. However, this is only true for grades 70% or lower. An 80% grade can bring someone’s grade down by an entire letter grade and leave students unsatisfied. Aside from the unfairness of the program, I felt that I learned little to nothing valuable let alone anything I would use. Overall, the program seems like a waste of time for students, only causing frustration and boredom.

Terrible, that’s about it, restarts videos if it glitches out and barely teaches you anything so you fail, also super outdated and uses 20 year old videos which the quality is terrible.

This program is just. not. good. From the outdated information, to the unenthusiastic and deadpan instructional videos. They aren't trying to get you to enjoy learning, nor are they trying to get you to learn at all... and you know what? Let me list every problem I've had with Edgenuity since 2022 (2025 was the earliest I could go.):

Constant errors. From the videos just flat out never loading, to the site itself just freezing. (Not to mention when you try to progress to the next section, it can just straight up not function and freeze.)

Mountains of work. They will supply you with piles, and piles of work. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about doing work in the first place, I'm complaining about the absolutely unrealistic amounts they give you. You WILL have to rush your work half the time.

Pointless Projects. My best guess for these is that they tried to replicate projects you'd do IN school, science experiments for example. But it just. DOESN'T. WORK. Most of the time these projects don't even do ANYTHING for your grade, I haven't even gotten into how you literally NEED to rush the projects to not fall behind. Instead of a proper deadline, take a guess at how much time they give you to complete each project... I'll tell you... IT'S ONE DAY. FOR EVERY PROJECT.

Outdated information. Some of these instructional videos are from 2013, some are even older. Let that give you a perspective on how OLD AND OUTDATED EVERYTHING IS...

Deadpan instructional videos. I'm sure the people talking in the videos are great people... but they make every video so. utterly. disengaging... you can tell they do not care half the time.

Soul-crushing. From the deadlines, the copious amounts of work, the outdated info, the terrible instructions... it all culminates into being utterly soul-crushing. I have lost years of my life to a program that is, in short, a big F you to education and learning in general.

They do not want you to learn.

They do not wish to make learning engaging.

Nor do they want you to feel happy about yourself.

Death to Edgenuity.
Do not use this terrible "learning" program.

So I'm indepentent study(ISP) and genuinely have always been an A+ student and 4.0 achiever all the time. I am also Neurodivergent with Autism, it's been a STRUGGLE to keep my grades at an A+ because edgenuity brought my grades from A+ down to a D-. I have to use edgenuity and it assigns me work ON WEEKENDS. WEEKENDS! Thats my downtime! Now I have to do summer school and I want out from edgenuity. I'm doing edgenuity as I'm writing this because I am 10 HOURS BEHIND thanks to everything assigned to me. Its horrible and im genuinely about to go full time, because being told to kms is better than this torture. I hope edgenuity gets shut down or something bc not even my dad, who is the super intendent of my school district, thinks its bad and has to sit with me some days and help me because IT NEVER SAVES MY PROGRESS OR LETS ME ADVANCE TO THE NEXT LESSON! My teacher also returns my work saying its all AI, like, its not??? I'm HEAVILY against AI, and she says it flags my essays as AI. I'm so done with this platform.

This is the most soul-crushing experience I have ever had while having to earn credits to move to tenth grade.

Edgenuity is so overbearing, so unforgiving and so passive that I often find myself better off learning the material with my own research. Never in my life have I had to deal with such an Atlas' sky of a weight on my shoulders while being constantly pushed to trudge through what I can only describe as moldy, stagnating swamp water filled with nothing but misinformation, contradictions and information so bafflingly outdated it's almost like they're telling people to stop using it. The instructors are incompetent at best and plain stupid at worst. Not only do the topics explained by them make so little sense that I feel as if my knowledge is regressing rather than progressing every time I have to sit through an unskippable 7-minute lecture that might just decide to repeat itself from the beginning because I clicked the next button too fast.

If you have to deal with this program, blast some tunes and mute the site. It's the least I can do, anyways.

Absolute abysmal dogshit with an extremelt stricy grading system that ofthen times make no sense as some passing grades are noe not passing its extreme amount of tedious busy work that with my time with it is stuff i know how go do just i didnt get to do it wrll first time around cant skip any lessons when they are super obvious it kills wanting to learn and causes resenment towards learning at all if all its gonna do is busy work that dosent teach you anything

Edgenuity is so slow, they probably barely are holding up. And it isn't my device. I'm on Arch Linux at home, and it is slow there, even when I have milliseconds of ping according to my beautiful Ping command. On top of that, it is super super long, it probably takes 100+ hours to get through 1 year long class. Now on top of that, we have labs and projects and essays, and now our time has been pushed to 200+. Now, do that for 3 classes that length. 600+ hours. More time than we have in a semester.

As someone who is pretty good but not exactly a 4.0 student, it's absolutely insane.
-The videos are unskippable, however you can skip them in about the last 5 seconds.
-It constantly breaks. Sometimes it lags while you click an answer so you fail BOTH attempts, or doesn't show the video.
-Sometimes your grades go UP after doing WORSE on a retake.
-You get locked out and a quiz gets automatically submitted if you leave it.
-On english quizzes, you have to keep asking for retakes until you get at least 70%.

It sucks.

I hate how boring lessons are and there not fun like too learn in general it’s incredibly easy to cheat like if i told you how many ppl just use google lens in summer school you wouldn’t believe me if they fix the learning part not being incredibly boring then i wouldn't mind using edgenuity.

The worst thing ever. I'm a senior and I'm having to use it to make up an credit I need to graduate. The videos are so long and so boring. Half the time it's way too easy or way too hard. I've made up an english credit, a health credit, and a science credit, as well as currently making up a math credit. The previous three were so easy to do, and the math is taking forever. It's taking me an entire school year to finish this math class! Do not recommend!!!!

Incredibly boring with terrible pacing. The teachers in the videos aren't too bad and they do know what they're talking about, but the pacing set is so incredibly exhausting how boring it actually is. The problem is less with the teachers in the videos, but inherently just how the system of the site is laid out. You get too busy with other stuff for one day and then you lose focus, bam 4 or 5 terribly paced assignments dragging your grade into the mud. I already hate the idea of online school and this exacerbates every issue I have with it. Plus the TTS. If I have questions right, I don't need to have it shoved down my throat when I already understand the question at hand enough to answer correctly, TTS after answering question goes off for at least 30 seconds when talking abt something that can be explained in 5. I have to do these classes to make up a science credit and because of how horrifically authoritarian the site map is set up against students, I've been stressing this semester just to even get ahead. Terrible app. If they fix it and actually start caring about the students who use it + don't have terrible pacing that makes them feel stupid, then maybe one day it'll get more than 1 star. Maybe 2.
