I ordered the "Malmö"-Rucksack in light grey. When it came and I opened the several layers of plastic, I was quite surprised that the colour was slightly different, more of a dark grey/greenish colour.
I opted to keep the Rucksack, as its design is still phantastic and the quality of both the leather and the canvas is very impressive. It is a piece of beauty, and I'm confident it'll grow old with me!
The only thing that irks me a little, is that it is produced in China. On the Eiken website they promise that
the manufacturer is adhering to human rights and ecological production standards - still I would prefer for all of their goods to be made in Europe. Maybe it's only me though...
Summary: you are looking for a gorgeous Rucksack that'll last probably forever: the Eiken Malmö is the way to go!

Excellent service après-vente. Clémence répond aux emails avec beaucoup de réactivité. J'ai pu retourner mon sac, qui était trop petit, et bénéficier de précieux conseils pour le remplacer.

J’ai rencontré un problème lors de ma livraison : le livreur est reparti avec mon colis et celui-ci a ensuite circulé d’agence en agence.
Heureusement, j’ai pu compter sur le professionnalisme du service client, et tout particulièrement sur Clémence. Elle a fait preuve d’une réactivité remarquable, aussi bien dans ses réponses que dans ses actions.
Je la remercie sincèrement pour la confiance qu’elle m’a accordée et pour son efficacité. Sans son intervention, j’aurais certainement stressé jusqu’à la réception de mon colis.
De nos jours, un service client aussi accessible et humain est précieux. Pas de répondeur interminable, pas de “tapez 1, tapez 2”… une vraie écoute et une réponse rapide.
Qui répond encore dans l’heure en 2026 ? Eux.
Je recommande vivement ce site, très sérieux.

J'avais un soucis d'attache sur mon sac et elle a fait l'intermédiaire avec la marque et ma trouvé une solution rapide ! Merci encore pour tout, je n'hésiterai pas à recommander le site Eiken autour de moi et à commander à nouveau chez eux. Merci Clémence aussi pour les échanges de mail. ça fait tellement du bien d'avoir un contact humain et attentionné.

Eiken replaced my backpack under warranty after the zipper broke: no hassle, fast shipping, and friendly maintenance tips. Very happy with both the product and the service.
Tips: don't hesitate to rub and brush hard soap on the metallic zipper from time to time, it helps greases the mechanism and prevent tension that might lead to problems.

Super expérience. Je cherchais un sac à dos Patagonia particulier pour une randonnée et l’équipe d’Eiken Shop a été très très sympa. Ils m’ont donné des très bons conseils, j’ai commandé dans la foulée et la commande est arrivé deux jours plus tard bien emballé. Super service, je recommande les yeux fermés.

Super service après vente : bien au delà de la garantie, Eiken (Clémence) m'a répondu sans délai, adressé un tuto pour résoudre le souci rencontré, et finalement m'a envoyé une petite pièce de rechange pour que je la monte sur mon sac. Merci Eiken Team, et bravo pour le soin apporté à la relation client.

I bought an Are backpack some time ago and only recently started using it. After two weeks of use, one of the shoulder straps broke. After I asked customer service for a repair option, they sent me a new rucksack straight away at no extra cost. This is exceptional customer service that I have not experienced with so many companies! The rucksack itself looks great and the inside is well made. I am really looking forward to using my new rucksack!

I currently have the Calgary backpack and it has been amazing - definitely the best bag I have ever bought. It is extremely well made and durable, and also looks amazing - from my experience this is hard to find. I have had a lot of compliments from friends about this bag and I always point them to the Eiken shop. I'd recommend this bag to anyone, and all of their other bags look amazing too - I can't wait to buy another

My son found this company when he couldn't find the perfect bag he was searching for in Australia. He wanted an old school, made to last bag with character, a classic, and he found exactly that with Eiken! Not only is the bag exactly as we hoped, well made, sturdy, a complete "looker" but the customer service has been excellent. I made a mistake with our order and Clemence moved mountains to get us the correct one here in Australia for a very special birthday milestone. If you want a classic bag that will never go out of style, this is the company!

Prends, prends, prends. J'ai eu mon sac et j'en suis ravie. Elle est belle, elle est fiable, elle est robuste. Si vous touchez le tissu, vous ne pouvez pas croire que c'est le sac parfait pour vous. Les connaisseurs de ce style apprécieront, et pour les débutants, c'est une excellente découverte. La société est digne de confiance, ainsi qu'une réactivité agréable. I received an Eiken backpack as a Christmas present 2023. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with the product. Firstly its not waterproof, which I need. Secondly the canvas has what appears to be water marks all over the material. Thirdly is when I contacted the customer service, I was told that I could not exchange it as it was outside the returns policy. Most companies that I have shoppedwith allow for time over the Christmas period. Considering how expensive these products are, they are of very poor quality & sub standard. I would definitely not recommend this company for any of their products. When you pay alot of money for a product, you would expect that you would receive a high quality product & support from the customer service. Certainly Irish companies would be honorable!
