THIS IS A SCAM !!!
Daylight robbery!!! I had never heard of Ensign Advisory until HMRC sent me a message via their portal telling me they had sent a cheque for £938 for married allowance tax return to them, I found a contact number and rang them I was told they had not received a cheque, I continued to question the fact that they were my nominee and was told that I had signed up online, I asked for proof of this and was told this would be sent, this never arrived. I received another HMRC message stating there was a payment of £938 pending, I rang HMRC claiming payment, I was told that the payment had to be sent to my nominee as they had requested payment back in 2021 on my behalf (something I never requested) I asked for the cheque be sent to me but they insisted it had to be sent to Ensign Advisory. After 3/4 weeks I rang Ensign and was told a cheque had been received and I would receive a payment in a few weeks, I again asked for proof of my registration, "NO REPLY" a cheque arrived the next day for £444.03, they had kept almost £500 for work I never requested, and I had to contact HMRC and authorise payment. What a joke!

Absolute nightmare company
Absolute nightmare company, applied for my tax rebate/relief in Oct 2022 and today I am still waiting for it although HMRC inform me they paid out months ago to Ensign Advisory.
Do not use this company - I believe they are obtaining money and keeping it.
Following a call from Roxanne today 1/8/23 regarding my cheque I am hopeful it will arrive in a few days - thanks to this person sorting it

Claimed tax refund kept majority of it without being asked, I didn't point them as my tax agent and despite being asked multiple times to desist, they have done it again, this is a con! Avoid like the plaque!

Tax fraud
I don’t know who you are. I received a letter with self assessment tax penalty. When I called HMRC, they mentioned this company tried to claim something on my behalf. I have never been self employed in my life and who gave you authority to do this without my permission? What should I call you scammer or fraud?
