I’ve worked with Experience Chile and its director Charles several times dating back to as far as 2011. Last trip we had was February 2026.

We have arranged multiple tours in Patagonia, Santiago, wine country, Atacama desert and Easter Island over these years.

What we could always count on was prompt replies, timely bookings, nice accommodation, transport and knowledgeable caring English-speaking guides.

Experience Chile is the most reliable and client-oriented tour operator in Chile that I know. I definitely recommend working with them whether you are a travel agency looking for a local tour operator or an independent traveller planning a holiday in Chile.

Charles was very efficient at getting back to me to answer questions, and booked great accommodation for us that we had been unable to book for ourselves. It took some of the angst out of free-lancing the W Trek with day hikes.

Booking refugios for the W trek is a bit complicated since they are not all owned by the same company. Experience Chile took care of that for us making it easy. They customized to our specific needs and were dependable and responsive. We had other adventures we wanted to do while there and those were also arranged by Experience Chile. If you want to do the W in Patagonia I would highly recommend getting experience Chile to help you out.

Charles at Experience Chile did a fantastic job of recommending and booking a custom Torres del Paine O-Circuit itinerary for my group of 12.

He booked our huts, coordinated a private guided hike in the park, recommended and reserved our lovely accommodations in Puerto Natales, and arranged all of our transportation between Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine in a private shuttle.

I organize 3-4 international trips a year for my hiking club, so I'm very picky when it comes to outfitters and guide services. Charles at Experience Chile is absolutely awesome.

My wife and I worked with Charles and the Experience Chile team in 2025, and it was genuinely one of the best travel experiences of our lives. We had limited time and wanted to cover both Argentine and Chilean Patagonia, and Charles made it happen seamlessly — from private transportation between El Calafate and Torres del Paine to a border crossing into Chile that could have been stressful but was handled with total professionalism by our driver. The highlight of El Calafate was hiking Glaciar Perito Moreno and drinking water straight from the glacier — we even had a glass of Scotch on the rocks with glacier ice, which is something I will never forget. Torres del Paine itself was magical, and the estancia Charles arranged, Estancia Cerro Paine, delivered everything from hikes to Lago Torres to horsemanship displays to incredible all-inclusive food and drinks. Charles and his team treated us with genuine respect from start to finish, and with over 30 years of experience, it shows in every detail. If you are considering a trip to Patagonia, Experience Chile is the only call you need to make.

We worked with Daniela to do all of our Torres Del Paine trip arrangements. She was awesome! She communicated well and answered any questions. When we got to Puerto Natales everything she set up went just like she arranged. We even went by the office and met Daniela to give her a small gift of our appreciation, she really did make the trip a journey of a lifetime!

My wife and I booked a month long trip in Argentina and Chili. Experiencechile made all of our bookings and travel arrangements including for a multiday hike through Torres Del Paine ( the 'O' route). They did an excellent job. The accommodations they booked were just what we wanted and the transportation arrangements went amazingly smooth despite our complex route that included car rental, flights and other car, (and boat!) transports.

The trip was excellent and to top off the service experiencechili provided, my wife left her Ipad in a rental car in Santiago just before heading home. They successfully located it and got it returned to us in Montana, USA, and didn't even charge us!

We had a great holiday in Chile. Everything went smoothly.
Started the process the year before since we wanted to do the W Trek and stay in the refugios.
Emailed Chile Experience with a rough itinerary of where we wanted to go, what we wanted to see in Chile and then left it to them to book the tours, hotels and transfers. We did book our own flights.
We were very happy with the hotels.
Overall I would recommend Chile Experience.

We spent a month travelling through Chile. Since the W Trek in Patagonia can get very crowded, we asked Charles to organise all the logistics for us, and everything worked out perfectly. For the middle part of our trip through Chile, Charles also arranged the hotel bookings, and he made very good choices.
One small remark: we are quite independent travellers, and because everything was booked in advance, we sometimes missed having a bit more flexibility. Of course, this is not something Charles could really change, but it is worth keeping in mind when planning ahead — fixed bookings can mean losing some spontaneity during the trip.

My wife and I recently spent two incredible weeks backpacking through Patagonia — her very first hiking experience. I had my concerns, but Charles Hallifax at Experience Chile put them to rest from day one. He handled every reservation seamlessly from El Calafate to Puerto Natales, and even arranged backup transportation bookings where cancellations were a risk — a thoughtful touch we truly appreciated. When an issue arose, he resolved it swiftly. His regular check-ins throughout the trip made us feel genuinely cared for. We had an amazing adventure in Chile thanks to Charles! He was patient in working with us to create a trip that would work with our limited time in the region. He created an itinerary that was seamless and smooth. Our hotels were beautiful, our transportation was on time, friendly, and smooth. He provided clear instructions and responded to all of my questions. He clearly knows the region well and created an adventure for us that we could never have done on our own!!

I was a bit hesitant to book a tour in Chile through a company that was local… rather than US based. However, in the end, our experience could not have been better. We booked fairly late to hike the W, and after we booked half of our party of four had to cancel. All of this was accommodated with no additional fees. Drivers, lodgings, meals, were all as promised and better than expected. I appreciated having direct contact with Charles and reassurances when I was hesitant.

Where do I start? experiencechile.org and my contact, Charles could not have been a better partner for our trip to Chile. Not only did he put up with a million emails and messages from me ahead of time but he was incredibly helpful during the trip. We had a person not make their flight and he helped get her to us in time for our W Trek hike. We also needed to take a day off hiking and at 5 pm the night before, he helped arrange transportation and a ferry for us within 30 minutes time. Lastly, someone in our group lost their passport and he was a great resource on what to do to get him back to Santiago and home to the USA. I can't imagine doing the trip without him and his team and will be recommending him for many years to come.

Experience Chile made our long and complicated itinerary easy to organise and a dream to live.

It was certainly no easy task for them to coordinate things for us, with the family arriving from three different locations and at different times.

We were hugely grateful for the fluid and candid communication between us from the very first moment. Their team gave us guidance and recommendations where we asked for it, and also when they felt it important to share their opinions on trip ideas that we had already formed for ourselves. I had previously lived in Chile in the late 90s, but obviously things change a lot over such a period. Having the Experience Chile team on the ground to explain what to expect, and to recommend the very latest options depending on their experience with many other customers was simply irreplaceable. I know we could have spent days trailing over review sites on the internet and garnered some input, but really the immediacy of their experience is just so superior.

The local guides and the local transfer operators that they arranged for us well all top notch. They were very knowledgeable, always timely and extremely friendly. Having them there for us made such a difference to the fluidity and the authenticity of our vacation.

I have to say also that the value Experience Chile offers in their service is tremendous. As you’d expect in today’s day and age, it was a simple thing for us to check accommodation prices relative to those that they had quoted for us, and I was really surprised to see that in almost every circumstance their rates met or bettered those online. I guess that is because of the long history Experience Chile has of working with these venues, but whatever the reason it was certainly a lesson learned for me - by booking through a local travel expert we simplified the whole process, saved some money on occasion, and most importantly we had someone local who could step in and advocate for us if we ever had any issues. Fortunately we didn’t experience the need to call them, but it was great comfort knowing that we had the Experience Chile team just a call away if we had got stuck.

We also appreciated that they were straightforward about areas where it would be best for us to book things directly, rather than through Experience Chile, such as local flights. Some might have wanted to keep that activity in-house to earn a margin, but these guys were entirely honest about where they could add value, and where it might be simpler to book direct.

Finally, thanks for the gentle check-ins with us along the route and throughout our stay. They were frequent enough to let us feel cared for and looked after, without being intrusive - I guess that is the key to what one might call “Butler Service” : expertise, close attention, but discretion and the understanding of when to slip into the background.

We would most heartily endorse Experience Chile to anyone considering a trip to Chile, particularly one that is longer and more bespoke.

My wife and I had little time to plan a vacation in Patagonia. We were joining our daughter who was studying there and we were not informed of the exact dates of her holiday break until about three weeks beforehand. Experience Chile worked with us diligently and thoroughly to identify hotels in Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas, and then Patagonia Camp (Torres Del Paine) for the bulk of our stay. The logistics were flawless, every detail was covered and all our lodgings were first class. And, of course the food was outstanding. We want to thank Experience Chile and Charles for creating a travel experience as magnificent as Patagonia itself.
