Evie Taupe Herringbone Jumper Shrunk After First Wash

I’ve been a loyal Fairfax & Favor customer for over five years, both online and in-store, and have always admired the brand’s style and quality, until now.

I bought the Evie Taupe Herringbone Jumper and followed the care instructions exactly: a gentle wool cycle at 30°C using a specialist detergent. Despite this, the jumper shrank dramatically after the first wash and is now completely unwearable. I even tried reshaping it while damp, but it made no difference.

As someone who lives on a farm and does around eight loads of washing a day, I’m a seasoned washer of clothes; this certainly isn’t my first rodeo with wool. The suggestion that the fault lies with me is insulting and disappointing.

The customer service representative was polite but refused to accept any responsibility, despite clear photos and a detailed explanation. I’ve now escalated this matter twice and specifically requested that it be reviewed by a senior member of the team, yet the outcome remains the same. After years of loyalty, I’ll sadly no longer be purchasing from Fairfax & Favor and will be advising friends and others to think twice before spending their money here.

As part of my birthday we visited Bakewell fairfax and Favor, I couldn’t have asked for better service. I had wanted a bag but wasn’t sure what to buy, the customer service was exceptional and then we discussed shoes as I have a wider foot I didn’t think I could get any but with excellent advice I found a lovely pair of shoes to go with my handbag. I would like to thank the team for excellent service.

Fairfax & Favor are absolute leaders in Customer Service. Any concerns or problems - which are very rare, they are super helpful. The very best of British!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The customer service and moreover care provided was so exceptional, especially when dealing with international returns. And while the boots didn't fit me (a function of my height not comfort)...i would not hesitate from shopping with them again!

I was disappointed when the handle on the doggie poo bag I loved & used daily broke. Fairfax & Favor replaced it having found a fault on it.

The service was brilliant. I purchased some boots which were lovely quality. Unfortunately they did not fit and I returned the boots. From receiving to returning, it was all very smooth. I would consider using the company again.

Brilliant company and so are the shops, they also give BLUE CARD a discount for NHS Thank you every little helps. Quick delivery no issues super happy with them. Quality goods that will last a lifetime.

I bought the Explorer boots and they are absolutely beautiful. Great quality, beautiful leather . The service in the Bawtry store was fabulous too and the staff could not have been more helpful, offering advice and made you feel under no rush at all. Unfortunately I had to return them as they were just slightly too tall for my very short little legs. If only I could grow a cm taller!

Fairfax and Favour is one of the nicest companies to deal with, whether it be in one of their lovely stores or online, nothing is too much trouble, I love shopping with them.

Beautifully made products and fantastic customer service, both in store and via email and telephone. I sadly had to return one item on occasion which was uncharacteristically faulty - this was dealt with promptly and fairly. They are transparent and courteous and look after their customers 😊

Bought Regina Boots for the wife. She loved the quality but found her usual size 7 a little tight. A quick and easy exchange for the next half size up and they are perfect.
Everyone who assisted us in the exchange assisted promptly and kept us updated. From initial order, delivery, return and re-delivery just 7 days...

We arrived yesterday and Linda was really welcoming and made sure we had everything we need. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were really comftable. We had the nicest breakfast before we went out this morning. I haven't got a bad word to say about this place and we are already discussing our next stay. As for people moaning about dogs barking this is a dog friendly hotel and there are also other dogs next door so that can't be helped this shouldn't reflect on this place.

I’ve bought from Fairfax & Favor before and always believed the higher price meant better quality and customer care. Sadly, this time really let me down.

I bought boots in August and wore them for the first time in October. After just one wear, the suede on the heel was damaged. When I contacted customer service, the issue was dismissed straight away from photos and I was told it was “external damage.” I also asked for help choosing the correct repair option, but the replies felt very unhelpful and repetitive.

After pushing to escalate, they eventually offered for me to send the boots in for review — but by that point it felt like the decision had already been made and there was no real willingness to help.

For the price, I expected better product durability and much better customer care. I’ve always considered this a premium brand, but the experience has changed that for me. Unfortunately, I won’t be purchasing from them again.

The Olivia waxed jacket was really beautiful and well made, however I returned the jacket because the size was too big.

Customer service was so helpful..I ordered a beautiful pair of tall, narrow calf boots in a 9.5 USA size - they were gorgeous and fit my calves perfectly but were uncomfortable at the ankle, so sadly had to return them. I will definitley shop at Fairfax and Porter again, the quality of their products is outstanding.

Excellent quality products, gorgeous range and exciting collection. Lovely welcome in store and on line. New favourite brand for quality, style and fabulous service.

Cannot wait for Fairfax and Favor to open stores across America too!
