A stranger dug deeply into the ground of my grandfather who died in 1928. The gravestone is sunk halfway into the ground. A woman requested to see what was written on my grandfather's gravestone. She pretends to be a related family member to me, not related, won't answer to whom she is related to when questioned Made up false information about my family, wouldn't transfer my grandmother's memorial, posted flowers on my family memorials. This "grave digging was done at her request, she called it an "archeological dig." The pictures of the dug grave were posted on her Ancestry Tree. I was sickened by this action by these two. Apparently they violated Find A Grave guidelines concerning a non relative's grave, or so I was told. What is the penalty for doing this I asked, the were told not to do that and follow the guidelines. I don't know if the photographer restored the grave to its former state. I contacted the cemetery about what had happened, I hope they fix the damage. I learned my lesson not to speak to anyone stranger on Ancestry or Find A grave, some of these people are not trustworthy, beware.

I’ve been with Find A Grave for 14 years. In my own genealogical work, it used to be helpful. I don’t know what has happened but the last 2-3 years, it’s become a nightmare. Granted these people who manage memorials for the most part are sincere and we must remember they do this voluntarily. But there are some who are very territorial - if you are a family member and want to manage your own family, they never respond.

Also if you manage you should always check what edits, people are submitting. Many are completely wrong listing a completely different family which throws off the algorithm on Ancestry and everybody who doesn’t check sources, keeps perpetuating a falsehood on a deceased family member. There needs to be more checks and balances.

It’s a shame really, how it’s become such a mess with so many mistakes, misinformation, wrong photos attributed to the deceased.

I know now that if u want your privacy upon death you better have it in your will. It is totally disgusting how people can just go on and exploited the dead. Some people are private during their life and want to stay that way in death. It’s about what the deceased wishes are, not what the selfish living survivors what. Shameful. Find a grave does not care about the deceased.

doesn't and didn't even know my family posted grave photos. i been trying to get my family off there find a grave for years now. someone took photos of MY FAMILIES GRAVES!!! and posted them on find a grave refuse to remove them the poster and the site YOU PEOPLE ARE SICK GHOULS. even a cemetery is not a safe space anymore with such trolls who have no character, morals or ethics to post someones families grave they dont even know. the cemetery was outraged and in no way agrees with this behavior for anyone wondering? findagrave.com, they are owned by ancestry.com. remember anyone can be found on the internet but that cuts both ways. just fyi and nothing stops heartless cruel subhumans from doing this. she apparently gets some kind of charge out of doing this to people opening their wounds, how pathetic. im about to have all headstones removed thats where im at, seek therapy and God in your life

There are these massive Bullies & Grave Thieves & Identity Thieves on Find a Grave, like Tombstone Finder & dare2dream & Amy, Sean Kilian & their Bully Followers who make “new” “Duplicates” of your actual blood Relatives older already made by you Memorial & then they get your “older Memorial” Reported as a Duplicate that they Copied from you then these Bullies get your Family Merged to their Memorial or their Grave Buddies Memorials but in the Process they send you like tons of or like 60 Edits at a time for you to write in what they want as they have a Duplicate sitting with another of their Grave Buddies then your Memorials match then get Merged in their Care with all their wrong Information added but then they change their Information to other off things that they add or write but none of them can read what they add because it is wrong. I check on EVERYTHING these Gravers add to my Family & none of it is Accurate. Because these Bullies jack up your Family Memorials through Mergers then treat you like you can’t make a Memorial. But these Gravers & Find a Grave also yell at you & are Mean & Abusive towards you then Act like the Victim to Find a Grave or Outside Officials. Find a Grave lets these Gravers make Duplicates & yell at you because these Gravers perfect their Graves as they throw in Anyone who Fits their Grave Marker even if it is NOT the right Deceased Person which brings in money for Find a Grave for getting Ancestors in a Grave. Find a Grave throw their Policies at you but none of their Top Contributors abide by the Rules but Find a Grave kicks you around or off their Site if you’re not their Favorite. Their Customer Service is non Existent & it is a Jacked up Site. It is Voluntary on your end. All your Work in a Memorial is a Waste because these Awful Gravers mess up everything you write. Very Abusive Site for trying to Honor your Loved ones!!!! Oh if you Accidentally make a Duplicate you get yelled at but if like dare2dream makes Duplicates they are like oh well. These Gravers have 0 Life as they Stalk you closely then keep all your Graves Information on File as they admit as they need to reach a quota. I do NOT Trust those Gravers with my Loved ones. So Sad because all I wanted was Tributes made for my Family

FAR too many pop-up ads - they really get in the way; didn't used to be like this - now spoiled as far as ease of use is concerned.

All these posts from Findagrave contributors going on about how hard they work harvesting graves makes my French butt tired. These people live on Findagrave because they r addicted. There is also a certain sense of satisfaction sticking their noses in other peoples business. What they really need is professional help and a long vacation from Findagrave.

There are some managers on Find a Grave that graciously transfer your family memorials quickly and without a problem and that is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately there seem to be a lot of memorial collectors who refuse to release a memorial with a family connection like they are supposed to. These memorial managers go so far as to post erroneous information, control their version of history, pull information from real researchers and post it to memorials as they see fit and lie to admins when they are called out on their bad behavior. Myself and family members have experienced every one of the bad experiences identified in reviews on trust pilot. There is no accountability and on line support is incapable in many cases to do anything.

Requested a memorial transfer for great-grandfathers brother - the memorial maker has the wrong information - tired to get him to change the info and he would not - he is not related to my great-grandfathers brother or any of the 85 K that he manages - he will not transfer to me - support at find a grave said no too - I am ticked - 24 yrs a member of Ancestry and almost 16 yrs on Find a Grave -

Zero stars. Everything I've read in these reviews is something I've experienced multiple times. Horrible staff, vindictive people who hoard memorials and set out to be ruthless with their agendas. You can't trust the information to be correct either. This site should be shut down. 70% + give it one star. THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES!!!!

There's a memorial I have tried to get Lucy Adelia Rhea,she married her first husband John James camren/Cameron,Lucy children was Bert .he was my mother lulu Louise camren grandfather,,Bert son was Herbert,my mother birth father,Herbert had 1 daughter my mother,,I have tried to get Lucy memorial ,Marcia created the memorial,I have tried for 2 months to get it,I have camren blood thru my mother,find a grave won't take it from Marcia to give to me,Marcia is not blood kin,I am my mother was,,I have asked on behalf of my mother for Lucy memorial,,find a grave will not tell me why I can't have it,,I have offer to send proof to them,no reply,I have posted proof on Lucy memorial,and Marcia knows it true,Marcia and don Camren,who was a cousin to my mother. ,don and Marcia build a website .when I started asking for Lucy memorial was about 2 months maybe 3 months ago.find a grave won't give to me,Marcia is not blood kin,I am thru my mother

If you can't find a grave, you should not offer this service.

I recently submitted a correction for a memorial on Find A Grave. The contributor responded in a hostile manner and told me to stop contacting him. When I told him I was going to send a message to find a grave to let them know that this contributor was providing incorrect information and would not research and correct it on their website, I was threatened by the contributor. I have closed my account.
This website is very unreliable.

A contributor assumed it was ok to change our father's information, based on a document which is based on a lie. If someone is doing research, you need to follow through all they way. When we found this lie, we traced it and it was for a complete different person.

I am closing all my accounts and have stopped genealogy.

Great idea that is a great source of grave information, but I have never succeeded in joining Find A Grave and getting interactive, sadly. I am a regular user of Ancestry and a computer literate person. Now after my umpteenth time of trying I am giving up and posting this review, in the hope that someone will accept that this side of their operation needs further work

Who would have thought that there would be trolls and generally nasty people on Find a Grave. Such as the likes you find on Facebook or Twitter.
There is no help from support when there is genuine harrasment and I have sent many emails reporting abuse of terms and conditions, violation of intellectual property and nothing is said or done. A member can put incorrect information about a relative and refuse to correct it when suggested, they steal original photos and edit them and upload them as their own. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw such gross abuse on a volunteer website especially when it is about genealogy. A serious dedicated support team is required if Find a Grave thinks it has a place. Really shows Ancestry.com in such a bad light. If only I had read all the complaints about Find a Grave, I don't think I would have joined.

They simply refuse to correct inaccurate information. Some stranger who has entered thousands of profiles made typos and apparently has poor eyesight to say something was not clear when in fact it is very clear to read about my grandmother. I submitted corrections but they refused them saying it didn’t add anything. Hello, it was to SUBTRACT erroneous information that was evidently made by a stranger rushing through things to post thousands of profiles. An actual relative who has accurate info is ignored. In what world does that make sense? I think in an insensitive dictatorship. No wonder there’s so many one star reviews.

For years I’ve been requesting administrative to correct significant error on my family’s information. No response.

So I am back. I said I would be if my words on my moms memorial on find a grave were not taken down. Which I am sure is still there. Can’t get in to see. The site is very confusing and not easy to navigate. They allowed my sister who most of our family does not talk to to take over my mothers profile that I set up. Stealing my words, my photos etc. I told find a grave if it was not taken down I would be writing this review again. I would never recommend them to anyone. They steal copyrighted material and pass it to just about anyone and then kicks you off the site and makes it so you can’t get back on.
No Star for them.
