We would like to clarify the process for future travelers reading this review.

Your case was a B1 / Visa on Arrival extension for a visa purchased at the airport. After we received your documents, Indonesian address and payment, the extension was submitted based on the Bali address you provided. For this type of extension, the immigration office and biometric/photo invitation are linked to the address used in the submission. After submission, the agency cannot freely move the biometric appointment to another island such as Lombok or Flores, because the process is already connected to the local immigration office.

This is why we always remind travelers: if you start a visa extension in Bali, please do not plan to leave Bali before the biometric/photo step is completed. In practice, “doing an extension” means you should stay available for the immigration invitation until the process is finished.

In your period, the timing was also affected by Indonesian public holidays and internal delays at local immigration offices. Public holidays are visible on our extension page and must always be considered before starting any Indonesian visa extension:

There were also broader operational delays at some immigration offices during that period, including internal checks and changes in local immigration management. Unfortunately, a visa agency cannot force immigration to schedule biometrics faster once the application is already submitted. In this case, we assisted with an urgent C1 Tourist Visa for Indonesia. The applicant was traveling with a British Overseas Citizen passport. Based on the official visa eligibility logic used for Indonesian entry and eVOA / VOA eligibility, British Overseas Citizen is not always treated the same as a regular United Kingdom citizen passport.

The official eligible country list may include United Kingdom, but this does not automatically mean that every British-related travel document or overseas status is treated the same way for Visa on Arrival. British Overseas Citizen, British National Overseas, British Subject, British Protected Person, emergency passports, certificates of identity, and other non-standard travel documents may require separate checking and different handling.

If an immigration officer at the counter says that a traveler “could have obtained VOA,” that may be the officer’s interpretation at that moment. However, final admission, approval, or refusal at the border always depends on the officer, the document type, airline acceptance, system eligibility, and current immigration rules. For a traveler who already has flights and hotels booked, relying only on verbal assumptions can be risky.

Our responsibility as a visa agency is to follow the safer official route and reduce the risk for the client. That is why we recommended and processed a C1 Tourist Visa in advance. The visa was issued successfully within 5 working days, and the client could travel with a proper visa already approved before arrival.
