Hoping for a better year in 2023. Since my first buy in May '21 I have bought 6 stocks recommended by Motley Fool and all are in the red bar one, in it is only marginally in the green. I invested about $5000 in each stock and I am down about $10000 over all. Not a great 'return' in 18 months. However, I am in it for the long term so I am hopeful of a better result in 2023.
Love Motley Fool, so easy to use and very helpful with investment advice. Will definitely use again.
these reviews cant be real. I have been in extreme opportunities for 2 years and lost 70% of money on this junk. Its so far below market performance its a joke. In hiondsights i should have done mroe research on the ëxperts". A failed BOQ banker is no expert !
Was gifted a subscription through Amex and got a deal on extreme opportunities. Neither have increased my wealth!! with all the picks I have purchased now well into negative territory. They say it is for the long term but even so, its going to take a long term for some gains to be clawed back. The user interface, especially regarding your account is poor as there is no 'button' to turn off auto renewals so you have to email to cancel subscriptions. The weekly bombardment of marketing emails offering other services, and the services you already have!!! is annoying.
I started reading the news letters at the beginning of the year and using some advice bought shares that are doing well. After a few months work got busy and I stopped everything to do with shares.
After finding out that I had paid for another subscription for the next year I emailed the team to explain I wasn't going to be using the service for some time they kindly refunded me the fee.
So when I get back into stocks again I will definitely be using Motley Fool again for information.
They have really good service.
Cheers Fools

Have been a member of Share Advisor for many years. While it may seem like a cheap service compared to others with their monthly recommendation, the ongoing information on previous recommendations is disgraceful. Especially when the performance (losses) of most of the previous recommendations over the past few years has been atrocious. I understand that some investments will drop in value, but when recommendations are down by more than half, you would expect that there would be some feedback from MF on the reasons for such bad performance (they are very quick to promote the ones that have performed, which of late are few & far between). You do get bombarded with offers to join special new services which are very expensive. My opinion is that Share Adviser is a low cost option of getting good information on share investing, but the ongoing commentary on previous recommendations, well, it is shocking & you get what you pay for.
My renewal was seamless and I like the ‘Fool’ product however I do not like the auto renewal payment system and it should be abandoned.
Easy method of capturing ongoing membership but not a great way of doing business in my opinion.
Also it is too hard to speak to a representative when you need to.

I was subscribed for a 2 year period but decided it wasn't worth the money so I cancelled my subscription as per the instructions on their website, 2 weeks before the renewal date. I even received an email saying they're sorry to see me go and to contact them if I change my mind, so I was very surprised to see the renewal fee deducted from my account 2 weeks later. I immediately emailed their customer service department only to be told they're looking into it and sorry for the inconvenience. Several days later I followed up as I had not had my money returned nor had any communication from them. This time they suggested I "dispute the transaction as we are unable to take any further action at this time". As far as I'm concerned they took money from my account without my permission which is theft and they should return it as a matter of urgency. Absolutely disgusted with my experience.
Educational and Entertaining - joined at the start in 2011, cancelling now in 2022 due to changing needs no longer being met by MF. Made use of the vast knowledge on offer in establishing my SMSF and have grown this using both MF AU and US recommendations obviously applying my own personal filter to stock picks. There are issues with excessive cross marketing and over zealous subscription processing but the real problem is an inability to engage customers to deliver what they desire. All MFA issues are customer service issues, their products are fine, although possibly too many, and too similar. Stock picks, education and entertainment has been five star.
So easy to do business - I'm in it because of the frequent, comprehensive realistic advice - always the first source I access as it is so trustworthy.
I’m a regular subscriber to MF and have a range of services over the years. When I neglected to cancel one of the services I wasn’t using before it automatically renewed, I emailed and it was refunded supporting the client needs rather than standing firm on contract.
Much appreciated.
Useful and informative service. Timely information. No padding.
Have been with Motley fool for some years now. We have made good returns over the years even though at the moment valuations of current investments are down we must just follow the underlying principals. Diversity of share investments and do not sell companies with good underlying fundamentals are probably most important at this time.
With regard to membership issues we have always been dealt with fairly and in a timely fashion.

I chose a subscription that was supposed to highlight opportunities for extreme growth in the market. Every recommendation that I was given had apparently already passed its period of extreme growth and all the companies were in what I would call fringe industries with no apparent demand to drive massive expansion. Each stock price got a small bump by weight of this group buying in on recommendation but that was the entire upside during my time. I made this observation to the support team who were dismissive in the extreme. I bought the is service twice as I was unaware of being signed up to a subscription. When I tried to cancel my subscription I had to email more than once due to aggressive tactics attempting to deflect my explicit instructions.
I find the content informative and useful in administering my own portfolio. Just rewed for year 2.
My experience with the Motley Fool staff has been 1st class. During the last 18 months I have been hospitalised twice. During recovery I did not see an email advising that my renewals would be due shortly. Consequently they were debited to my credit card. This caused me considerable concern financially. I explained my situation to the Support team and within 48 hours my concerns were resolved. I am grateful Motley Fool's staff understood and handled my position so quickly .
This is a great source of investment reference.
My credit card was still being debited despite emailing TWICE to cancel the Motley Fool Share Advisor subscription well before its renewal. They didn't provide any response to both emails sent to cancel membership. Now having had to email their "member support" mailing address again to request them to reverse the charge back to my credit card. Sent another reminder email today (31/08/2022) asking them to action my request, still not getting any response/action from Motley Fool. They're so quick to charge without my consent but silent so far on returning the money to me. Very frustrating experience!
Great content, and great service.
Cancellation isn't automatic, you do have to connect with their customer service who will offer a great incentive to continue, but on polite request they will certainly cancel any annual renewals quickly.
This is the matter of principle, The Motley Fool has withdrawn $299 from my personal bank account without my consent. Two years ago, I especially asked for invoice to pay the fee into Motley Fool bank account, i would like to try to see whether it will help me for share market trading. Also i didn’t sign the Authorization form for direct debit either. I even didn’t pay it by credit card which The Motley Fool asked for in two years ago. I had joined two years membership with Motley Fool at that time. We lost so much money after we follow the Motley Fool report. However finally the membership had finished this year and i didn't want to renew, i even don't know how can this company had withdrawn the renew fee from my bank account without authorization. It is illegal.
