Super helpful people with a great website :)
They filled out the forms with everything looking right, I had alot of questions and they answered them all. Frugalflyer.ca ITIN service did 2 really important things in my life, they helped me save time and energy. please keep on putting more helpful information out there on the web, its hard to find websites with people behind it that cares about their services and content. Decently fast ITIN service help but broken process, ITIN denied.
Decently fast ITIN service help, but denied because the process they outline includes documents (certified copy of Canadian passport) that aren't valid as per the IRS. I was provided with a blog post to steps I could try to get it done, which was not helpful. No refund or anything, for a process that simply won't work anymore. Can not recommend, they may want to stop doing this service altogether for Canadians citizens, as they are selling a service that's simply broken and is not working anymore, so please be aware.

Our process no longer recommends CTC for Canadians (note that CTC still work fine for non-Canadian passports). Instead we recommend, as outlined in the post we referred you to, one of 1) send in original passport, 2) send in original drivers license and birth certificate, 3) send in duplicate/CTC of drivers + birth certificate, 4) visit a Taxpayer Assistance Center, or 5) apply via a Certifying Acceptance Agent. The service does indeed still work, I even used it myself for a family member recently without issue and we have many customers continuing to have successful applications.
To be clear, the ITIN service is only a form preparation service. We are not responsible for how to choose to verify your identity to the IRS. Still, for those who purchased our service before it became clear that Canadian CTC were no longer accepted and are unable to make use of alternative methods, we have been granting refunds on request.
