Inferior product can't get parts

My front load washing machine is less than two years old and the water pump broke. I haven't had a washing machine for over two months because GE doesn't have the part and don't know when they will!!! We live in the country so it's over an hour round trip just to go to a laundrymat. I will never buy another GE product!

Cooker this was fitted yesterday by a gas fitter it is a dual fuel electrics went off rang the shop sorted right away sending engineer out customer service brilliant 100% recommend this company

I purchased a dishwasher from LOWES

I purchased a dishwasher from LOWES. Immediately after having it hooked up, it didnt function properly, I thought it was the settings I had it on. After 2 months of rewashing by hand, I finally called Lowes, to turn around and call GE, to be put on hold 30 minutes to an hour, everytime you call, GE scheduled me a repair service. No show. I called GE back, to be told I have to schedule with the repair people. After 1 diagnostic visit, 4 other visits and 2 replacing the same parts, it still doesn't work. Tried to return it to Lowes, they had to Jane a number from GE, GE said they didn't give the number to the consumer they give it to the retailer. I finally explained to GE the situation, they called the repair people, only to be told the repair guy had to come back out and call a GE tech. Which resulted in him being at my house for 1 and 1/2 hours in hold for GE Tech to be told he had to order all the parts and change them out again. Today had been 2 weeks. Finally I call the repair people, supposedly, my parts are out for delivery, which means repair guy won't show up until maybe Tuesday. I absolutely do not recommend GE, and I would also recommend to read and know the return policy for whomever you purchase your appliances. Repair guy is super nice, but I think even he got aggravated. I know I would. I also know there are 3 or 4 other of this dishwasher in my immediate area having the same problems, my next move is to report to better business bureau

I purchased a GE dishwasher from Home…

I purchased a GE dishwasher from Home Depot in 2021. My trusty 17 year old Whirlpool had finally died. The new GE unit leaked from the left bottom of the door right from the start. It took GE 6 months to get a service tech took look at it. The poor guy made 6 trips to my home to try and resolve the problem before GE agreed to replace the unit with another GE model. Fast forward to 2024. The replacement unit has totally died and is now outside the warranty period. I will never ever purchase a GE appliance for as long as I live. Whirlpool rules. I have 5 different Whirlpools over 20+ years still going strong.

I bought all GE appliances!

I bought GE washer, dryer, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator 8 years ago. After 2 years I had to replace the dryer, after 3 years my $4000 gas range& recently I had to replace washer and dishwasher. Tonight my second $4000 range handle fell off! Just waiting for the refrigerator to fail! GE could care less! My first oven locked up & not able to get unlocked the day before Thanksgiving! Took a month to get a new one plus I paid an extra $1000.
GE WAS a wonderful company but no longer. Made in CHINA?
Very disappointed plus their service people are expensive and have little knowledge of the problems. Replacing one by one with better quality!

GE Refrig is user unfriendly

My expensive GE Refrigerator GFE28GYNFS purchased in May 2023 is very user unfriendly and the ice cube maker doesn't work as advertised. I have had this refrigerator for a year, and consistently the ice cubes freeze together in large clumps that have to be manually removed. This problem with the ice maker appears to owe a design flaw, as the ice maker is in the door to the refrigerator where it is subjected to warmer temperatures. The dealer who sold us the appliance said that we'd just have to live with the problem...or remember every day to dispense ice cubes.

In addition, since our water to the refrigerator is on a reverse osmosis system, we don't need a GE water filter. The bypass for the water filter didn't wasn't included in the $2343 price (on "sale"), so I had to order it from the PartsDr.com. Even after the bypass was installed the change filter warning light would episodically come on, and the GE instruction manual was worthless. Eventually I found my way back to the very helpful PartsDr u-tube video, where other customers had complained the same issues with GE. I learned that I had to press the "WATER" button for 5 seconds to shut off the anomalous filter warning....go figure!!!

In addition, all my "older" refrigerators had temperature displays and easily operable controls. In this one the temperature of the refrigerator and freezer are unknown.

The irony is that I specifically chose the GE brand over less expensive models because my preference was to buy a USA product. GE used to have a good reputation. No longer! I will go out of my way to AVOID products made by GE.

I was unloading my two year-old…

I was unloading my two year-old dishwasher today and noticed all of these burn spots on the dishwasher rack both top and bottom. What kind of product does this after only two years of inconsistent use. We use our dishwasher maybe 2 to 3 times a week maximum. These dishwashing racks are already rusting.

Don’t buy GE Appliances

Don’t buy GE Appliances. My oven door exploded over a week ago and they still have not gotten anyone to look at it. I have been told one thing then another. We have no oven and have had to either eat out or use a family members oven to cook as we were working through this. I had to ask multiple times and wait 2 days before a manager would even talk to me and then proceeded today to offer me a whopping $75 so that we could buy a toaster oven or hot plate to use until they could get someone to deal with it. I’m beyond disgusted with how they have handled this and one of us could have been hurt. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but I don’t anticipate much coming of it. At this point it is what it is and we will buy a new one but it will NOT be a GE product.

I am beyond frustrated and upset with…

I am beyond frustrated and upset with GE'S Customer service and products. I purchased a new oven in Nov 2023 and loved it. Suddenly it stopped working. I contacted GE about it and they sent a contractor who informed me it would take 7-10 days to get the part. That was May 20th and to date I am still without an oven. As a household of 5, I rely on the oven to cool meals which I can't do. We've had to spend an excessive amount of money for take away or microwave dinners and it's awful. Mckayla and Trish B were very sweet and felt bad and even sent a comp check for $50.00 which was nice but I just want a working oven, the rest of customer service has been awful. They lack empathy, seemed annoyed, and just don't care. This is the worst CE I've ever experienced. I'll never purchase their products again and won't recommend them to even my worst enemy. case/incident # 13170798

To make matters worse I have family coming into town on the 14th and I'll still be without a working oven as it seems.

Purchased a GE washer dryer combo in…

Purchased a GE washer dryer combo in May 2023. In March of 2024 (still under one year warranty) dryer portion stopped fully dying clothes. GE sent repair company out who decided by running the machine (while they were here) and testing the heat temperature on the outside of the machine that it was working as expected. I explained I do not dry my clothes on the outside of the machine I put them inside to dry it doesn’t matter that the outside is hot. GE sent another repair company out as the first on would not reply back to them. The second company did the same thing by this point the dryer was not drying anything I put one wet sock in and ran the dryer cycle for 8 hours, sock was still wet. Now in June of 2024 and still no response from GE just continue to say we have to hear from the repair company. Have filed a BBB complaint against GE they have not even responded to the BBB. Don’t waste your hard earned money and time on GE products!

GE Dryer form low’s Home Improvement…

I purchased a GE Dryer form low’s Home store 16 months ago and the heater went out on the the dryer right after the warranty went out. Then when I look on line a see that Quantity sales is more important then quality sales. To pay five hundred dollars for something to only last 4 months after the warranty is Ridiculous.I love this low’s makes money and GE makes money and the Consumer takes the hit. This is a Warning to all be aware of GE. When I called the manufacturer and I called Lowe’s they said no extended warranty no help.

Purchased a GE dryer on May 20, 2023 today is June 4, 2024 and it has died and of course it’s 15 days out of the warranty.. A dryer or any appliance should last longer than one year and 15 days totally ridiculous!

It was one of the worst customer…

It was one of the worst customer service experiences I ever had. I bought some water filters on their website. The order was supposed to get to my house between 3 to 5 business days. I never received any updates, tracking or anything similar. After the 10th day, I called them and they said they had a delay and I couldn't cancel them because they were already shipped, but that the filters would arrive two days after our conversation. I never received them. I called again, and after a long wait of almost 1 hour and three phone calls, two unprofessional agents named Alisha and Keven told me that the shipping company wasn't able to access my house, and the front of my house has direct access to the street, no fence, no a thing that can prevent anyone for leaving me a delivery. They transferred me for a refund that it took another hour just to pick up the phone, and that lady didn't even apologize for the trouble. This is so unprofessional. I will never recommend anyone to buy anything on the website.

GE Cafe Appliances Aren’t Worth the Cash

We special ordered Cafe Appliances double wall oven with French doors on February 8th, 2024. Delivery was TBA. After thinking more, beginning of March I special ordered the matching refrigerator. We received the fridge on April 4th. All good, it matched the dishwasher, hood exhaust and microwave. FINALLY May 13th, our ovens arrived. After installation and removing the plastic film, shocked to find the ovens didn’t match anything! To top it off, there is a palm print between the glass on the upper oven door!!
I’ve been in contact with cafe appliances and they dispatched a GE service person to remove and clean the glass. They can’t figure out how to do it! Also have made contact with Cafe Appliances regarding the lack of match. They just keep putting me off.
Don’t get me wrong, these ovens are to die for with options, but I’m not prepared to have a mismatched kitchen!
On HGTV they all match! lol

I was given an unfixable GE…

I was given an unfixable GE refrigerator. Quality control issue. A hole was drilled into refrigerant line. Nobody will come to replace it so GE is mailing me a refund and told me to get rid of the refrigerator myself. 50 bucks is what that is going to cost me for them sending me a defective refrigerator. First repair guy was a no show. 2nd repair guy was professional. I’ve been without a refrigerator for almost 3 weeks and now left to find another refrigerator on my own. Delivery for a new refrigerator that I have found will now take another 3 weeks. No compensation for getting rid of the refrigerator or all the trouble having no fridge. I wasn’t even asked where the refund should be mailed too. I’m guessing they just assume it’s the same address where the refrigerator was delivered too. I don’t even know how long it’s going to be before I get my money back. Horrible service with GE. I was on the phone with several operators taking over an hour of my time in all. Some helpful, some not. I’ll be surprised If I don’t need to call them back to find where my refund is after a couple of weeks. Time will tell.

"Fly by Night" Repair Company

Bought new GE dishwasher in Nov 23. About 3 weeks ago had problems with even coming on and called for warranty service. Tech from a GE contractor came out (company name started with a "B"). Unit actually came on 3 times when here...similar to our experience last 3 weeks. Took kick plate off and saw insects. Immediately said insects had gotten into electronics and fried the control board. Didnt look at boards to confirm. Said would be over $700 to repair. Not covered by warranty. Unit only cost $450. Today I pulled unit out and it completed the cycle I last punched in. So, I tightened the power connections , pushed back in and ran a longer cycle. Moral of story. Tech did not even troubleshoot the most basic thing. Check the wiring. So what he said and "diagnosed" was complete and total BS.

Bait, Switch and Confuse

Dear Customer Service,

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the misleading warranty practices associated with my GE Cafe refrigerator. As stated in the warranty documentation provided at the time of purchase, the refrigerator comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty that covers the refrigeration system. However, upon seeking service for a malfunctioning ice maker, I was informed by GE customer service that the ice maker is not considered part of the refrigeration system and therefore is not covered under this warranty.

This interpretation of the warranty is both disingenuous and unfair to consumers. To a layman, the term “refrigeration system” logically includes all components that are integral to the process of refrigeration, including the ice maker. The ice maker relies on the cooling capabilities of the refrigerator to produce ice, and without proper refrigeration, the ice maker cannot function. Hence, excluding the ice maker from the refrigeration system coverage seems like a deliberate attempt to limit warranty liabilities and can be construed as a bait-and-switch tactic.

This kind of semantics-driven exclusion undermines the trust consumers place in GE Appliances. When I purchased this refrigerator, I did so with the understanding that I was securing a product backed by a comprehensive warranty. The exclusion of the ice maker, an essential feature for which many consumers opt for this model, from the “refrigeration system” warranty is misleading and suggests an attempt to deceive customers.

I urge GE Appliances to honor the 5-year warranty in good faith by including the ice maker as part of the refrigeration system. This would not only rectify the current issue but also restore confidence in your brand’s commitment to customer satisfaction and product integrity.

I expect a prompt resolution to this matter and look forward to your response. Should this complaint not be addressed satisfactorily, I will have no choice but to escalate it to relevant consumer protection authorities and consider alternative legal remedies.

This washing machine is a total lemon and a piece of junk.

This washing machine is a total lemon. I have had it for two years and it's a piece of junk with a super bad design. I have been washing clothes for 40 years and I have never ever had a washing machine do this. When the repair man came out two months ago to clean the disgusting putrid gunk out of the bottom of the machine and I was told by him it's going to be an ongoing issue even though I am using high efficiency laundry soap I am still having the same issue. I am getting black sludge building up again that smells like raw sewage and ruins my laundry. I cannot believe I spent $1700.00 on a brand new washing machine with an "extended warranty" that they will no longer honour as according to them it's my problem and not the extended warranty company. The machine a a joke and badly designed. So I now have to cut my financial losses and take it to recycling as no one wants this "lemon". I had to buy a used washing machine today as it's all I can afford that actually works. I can't tell you how furious I am. Fuller Watson the company I bought it from in Maple Ridge BC has gone out of business and could not care as they got my money and the extended warranty company will not honour my extended warranty any further so I am totally left with a washing machine that's not useable or sellable! I will never ever by any GE appliances ever again.
