I purchase a car from Ghost Motors in March 2026 and the faults became apparent in the first 2 weeks. The dealership took the car back 3 times to fix it at Angel Tyres an none VAT registers tyre fitter who were supposed to replace the clutch and fix the engine light problem that turned out to be the Turbo. It was not fixed and I complained to the Finance Company, Blue Motor Finance, who had an independent inspection report done saying the car was unfit to drive at the time of purchase due to 3 problems, Clutch, Turbo and Timing belt totalling £3000 worth of repairs. Blue motor finance accepted responsibility but advised that the car would be collected by Ghost Motors who stopped communication with the finance company and refused it to be returned under the Consumer protection law. I took the finance company to the Financial Ombudsman to force the finance company to either fix the car or accept its return. Blue Motor Finance are now in administration and the FOS can no longer deal with the claim . I now have a Ford Focus 2018 costing £6500 that is not road worthy unless I find £3k to fix it. Ghost Motors purchase their cars from Brighouse Auctions and “flip” them without any checks on the road worthiness of the car. It is pot luck if you get a good or bad car from them hence the different reviews. I advise you no to buy a car from this dealership as reputable car finance companies like Zuto and Carmula will not touch them. If you go ahead with a purchase at the very least get an independent report from the AA or similar before you purchase any thing from this dealership or you could end up like me a pensioner with an un roadworthy car

My son travelled from barnsley to look at a car today we were met by a gentleman he was very easy to talk to he asked what car we went to see he took us to the car he got someone to move other cars so we could look at the car better he then just let my son look over the car he ask if he wanted a test drive so he brought the car round to the front off the garage he just gave my son the keys and said off you go young man so my son took the car out on his own no pressure from the guy when he got back he loved it so we did the deal straight away quality company would recommend

Very disappointed with my experience buying a car from this company.
I was told the car would be MOT'd, serviced and cleaned before I collected it. The MOT was done, but I have serious concerns about the condition of the vehicle and the service that was supposedly carried out.
I was later told that the car had been serviced, and I was even told there was an email to confirm this. However, when I had the car independently checked, I was told it had not been properly serviced for around four years. I then had to pay £708 to have the necessary work carried out.
The service also highlighted serious concerns, including both front ball joints needing replacement and incorrect bolts/nuts being fitted for the vehicle. There were also oil-related issues that needed attention.
I have emailed the company numerous times but have received very little help. The response has basically been to bring the car back and they will do the work, but after discovering these problems, I don't feel comfortable simply handing the car back to them.
My biggest concern is how the vehicle passed its MOT with these issues present. I would like a proper explanation of what checks were carried out and what work was actually done before the car was sold to me.
Overall, a very disappointing experience and £708 out of pocket after being told the car had been serviced. I would strongly recommend anyone considering buying a car from here to have it independently inspected before handing over their money. Iv loads of evidence .

Their delivery driver that dropped the car to me crashed it into my brand new Cupra!
I arranged for a ford focus to be delivered when the driver crashed it into my brand new car, since then I have had nothing but issues with both the car and Ghost motors. They are now completely ignoring my emails. The car has been in with a very reputable garage near me for inspection and has over £900 of work that needs doing, since then it has developed more problems however Ghost motors are completely ignoring me. I am now going to trading standards to have these problems fixed. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GARAGE.

I found them very helpful, maybe a little slow with some things, but on the whole above average. So far no problems with the car except for a slight rattle underneath, other than that all is well. If I am passing I will call in and say hello.

Keep away from this company at all cost, i bought a car for my granddaughter trusting it would be reliable for her,big mistake it was dangerous and could have burst into flames at any time, every thing from the electrics to the timing bolt was dangerous. Cost over £2000 to make this car reliable and safe. I now have a complaint going through with trading standards, this company needs stopping before someone gets injured or worse. Diabolical company

Bought a car from here which had subframe issues on previous MOTs. When purchasing they car they advised all issues would be fixed. And the new mot showed no issues.

5 months later subframe snapped and mechanic has confirmed massive corrosion on the subframe and it's been hidden using underseal.

All attempts to contact the company they have ignored do not trust these scammers

I'll begin this review by stating the obvious - buying a secondhand car can be like walking into a minefield. This is an uncertainty that faces both dealership and customer.

I purchased a Ford Focus Zetec from Ghost Motors in Cleckheaton on 6th April 2026. Before doing so, I checked out the reviews on Google. The majority of their customers were satisfied, but a minority of reviewers were not. However, it wasn't the complaints that grabbed my interest, it was the response from Ghost Motors as they addressed the complaints.

Like I say, there are risks when buying a car with previous owners. Unforseen problems can arise, even after a pre-sale service - Fact! Frustrating for all concerned - Fact! It's what a car dealership does to try and put any problem right that is the important factor to consider when taking into account who we might choose to buy from. After reading their replies to negative reviews, Ghost Motors came out of it looking like a dealership that would be honourable within their aftersales obligations to customers. That's what swayed me.

I fell in love with the car I bought from Ghost Motors. It was a positive experience. No pressure from the staff when looking at cars that morning. They were friendly and patient They also offered me a fair price for my old banger via a part exchange there and then, so that was one less thing for me to worry about. They even assisted me with the transferring of ownership. I drove away very happy...

Four days later the engine started over-heating due to an unexpected coolant leak. I was gutted. Ghost Motors were gutted for me. What did Ghost Motors do? They were very sympathetic and they arranged for my car to be towed from Skipton (where I live) to a Cleckheaton garage THE FOLLOWING MORNING!

I'm a self-employed singer and I need a car to transport myself and equipment to venues. I had a gig in Queensbury in Bradford whilst my car was being repaired. What did Ghost Motors do? They paid for a taxi to take me and my gear from Skipton to Queensbury... and straight after my gig they paid for another taxi to take me from Queensbury to the garage in Cleckheaton to collect my repaired car.

I should also add that Ghost Motors kept me informed of what was happening whilst my car was being repaired. The communication was open and honest. They always phoned back when they said they would.

I personally cannot identify with the negativity that a handful of disgruntled reviewers have outlined. I can only assume that their demands were unrealistic and only a dealership with a magic wand could have resolved their complaints to their lofty levels of satisfaction.

Would I buy from Ghost Motors in the future? YES I WOULD... WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION!

Would I recommend Ghost Motors to my family, friends and strangers alike? YES I WOULD... WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION!

Bought a car from this dealer and had nothing but trouble from the start! The car was sold to me with a faulty wishbone and clutch that cost just under £2000. I only had the car a matter of weeks and when I approached the dealer about this I was ignored and they did not pay for any repairs even though they had a responsibility under the consumer rights act! Like a previous review, they sold the car stating it was serviced only to find that this was another lie. I will never use this dealer again!

Bought a car from here, was lied to from the very start, got them to service the car before I bought it, only for it to not be done, air filters was years old, noise coming from the front on a test drive said they would get this sorted, apparently was a front tyre so they apparently put a new one on, they didn't. Went to get the car serviced at a specialist and they gave me a list as long as my arm wrong with the car, took it back for a refund and they advertised it the same day for an extra £500 plus all the problems! Would never buy another car from this place! all the cars are from auctions and I can guarantee they all have problems, had to give one star but they don't even deserve that!

BEWARE: Ghost Motors sold us an unsafe, defective car and then ghosted me! I usually don’t write long reviews, but people need to hear this. We bought a used Vauxhall Mokka from Ghost Motors in 2024. Within 9 months, the engine BLEW UP with no warning. That’s right – the car severely overheated and the head gasket blew, yet no dashboard warning lights ever came on. It turns out the car had a coolant leak that Ghost Motors either didn’t catch or didn’t tell us about, and the temperature/coolant warning system wasn’t functioning. This is a major red flag – it means the car was essentially sold with a hidden time-bomb under the hood.

When we bought it, Ghost Motors promised it was serviced and in great condition. Based on the lack of service stamp in the service logbook and the independent engineers report done after the event, Ghost Motors didn’t even check the car over. We had early clues: a tire pressure sensor was bad on day one (when I went to have it replaced, we discovered that there wasn’t an adaptor for the locking wheel nut… so the nut had to be cut off… of the care owned by a terminally ill 80 year old!!), fluid levels were low – things they should have fixed pre-sale. But the big one was the engine. After it failed, a month after Mum died, I tried to work with the dealership. They completely ignored me. I reached out multiple times via registered post – they never responded or offered any help. Mum spent thousands and got a pile of metal and I was left with double heartbreak (losing Mum and then discovering she’d been ripped off). My mother (the buyer) was terminally ill at the time – this was the last thing our family needed.

I’m pursuing legal action because under consumer law the car was “not of satisfactory quality” (an understatement). But I also want to warn others. If you value your money and peace of mind, do NOT buy a car from Ghost Motors LTD. In my experience, they do not thoroughly inspect their cars, they do not honour their obligations when something goes wrong, and they do not appear to care about selling an unsafe vehicle. A car with no working temperature warning is downright dangerous. I’ve reported this to Trading Standards to investigate.

There are plenty of used car dealers out there – I urge you to find another. Ghost Motors’ behaviour after the sale is non-existent (hence the name, I suppose – they “ghost” you). It’s not worth the risk. I wish I could give 0 stars. Avoid Ghost Motors LTD.”

These are conmen. I discovered so many issues with the car I have just purchased by the time I got it home. Work which was promised to be completed before collection has not been done. Speaking to the sales man, he is just a complete liar. 2k added to the purchase price for the repairs which will have to be funded by myself

Highly recommend! Honestly can’t fault them! I feel like people always leave a review when they’re disappointed but never about the good service! Got a few cars from them and have always had a positive experience! Always reccommend them to everyone!

Nice helpful guys there. Bought a great little car from them and they couldn't of been more helpful.
