Bought a car from Motown Citroen ds7 22 reg black from delivery black smoke coming through ventilation system of the vehicle after payment was made needed your new windscreen full service coolant change and after investigating by Garage needs a new turbo and possible DPF waited three weeks for recall just to be confirmed by the main dealer that there was issues with this vehicle when sold from previous owner hence why the car was part exchange or sold to this dealership after more investigation turns out to be exhaust fumes that are coming into the car making the car totally unroadworthy and very dangerous reported to trading standards MOT station dealership Cost of repair would run into thousands due to possible new DPF and turbo turbo seals are leaking hence exhausts fumes are coming through vents of Car after speaking to a specialist and main dealer DPF is blocked causing turbo to leak around housing £3000 just for PARTS without any labour

I wish I could give 0 stars. Do NOT & I repeat do NOT buy from this ‘company’. Was told the car needed a new battery & they would sort before I came back for a 2nd viewing before making my decision. Reassured me it had been changed & car has had a full re check over & everything was in working order and good to go. Discovered the battery hadn’t been touched & clearly nothing checked because instead, they actually sold me a dangerous faulty car & don’t want to deal with it when I try send it back for a refund. Also BEWARE, they’re changing their name to Mak performance cars so please be vigilant on Autotrader for this name. (Something clearly dodgy about them changing their trading name)

Bought a Peugeot 3008 on 3rd August to be presented by faults in the 6th after driving it a total of approx 50 miles. Eroded wet belt which been confirmed by mechanics will have been present & known to seller before sale & the state it was in, mechanic surprised I even made it home safely in one piece.

I rely heavily on a vehicle for work & it’s now been sat for 1 month unable to drive with still no solution or communication as my number has now been blocked. I’m having to rely on other people to sort me with work so I don’t lose income & will soon have to pay out for a hire car. All have been reported to auto trader & trading standards & now about to start court proceedings. I beg you NOT to buy from this garage!!!!!!

I purchased a Ford Focus (LM70 FUO) from Motor Town Halifax on 26th August. It was driven home, sat on my drive and was taken directly to a local independent garage on 28th August, just 2 days into ownership. The garage immediately discovered a severely leaking water pump, making the vehicle completely undriveable. It has remained stationary at the garage ever since. Motor Town initially asked me to provide the mechanical evidence, which I sent over immediately. Since receiving the proof, they have completely ignored my messages and refuse to answer my telephone calls. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a vehicle must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Discovering a major leak within 48 hours means this defect was indisputably present at the point of sale. Formal legal paperwork has been served today via Royal Mail Special Delivery to both their Halifax showroom and Dewsbury registered office, giving them 7 days to cover the £260.86 repair invoice alongside my rising out-of-pocket travel expenses (£667.11 total). If communication is not restored immediately to resolve this breach of contract, this matter will escalate directly to West Yorkshire Trading Standards and a claim will be filed through the Small Claims Court on Wednesday 16th September to enforce a full vehicle rejection and refund of the £7,950.00 purchase price. It’s also worth to note that they have changed trading names multiple times to obfuscate bad reviews. They are now trading as Mak Performance Cars

For those who have had a bad experience with motortown cars and have suddenly seen your reviews disappear, this is bwcause they took themselves off autotrader to go back on as Mak Performance Cars (you notice its them as they're selling the same cars). Feel free to leave a new review if you can so that this rogue dealership can know that we wont let other customers suffer

they said the car was perfect condition and took a flight to buy it, when arrive found:
Paint spill int the boot
tyres are illegal limit
smoke coming out the front
driver seats terribly worn out
Paint doesn't match on most body panels
And he still wont give the deposit back, absolute scammers

Do not use this garage total rip off not what you expect so to save your self stress and hassle stay away from here do not buy any cars they ignore u soon as have a problem

Very poor service, was not communicating to their highest level and did not cooperate with my concerns which caused me to be entirely confound by their poor system

Absolute scam of a place. Drove down from Glasgow (over 4 hours) and when I arrived the car was damaged from several parts including the door having a big dent which wasn’t shown in photos. Began the test drive and the car started immediately making noises which seemed like something was scraping underneath the car. Sunny made up stories about it being an uneven road and the car is fine before finally admitting something was wrong. We obviously didn’t buy the car and I asked for my deposit back since the car was not fit for purpose and clearly wasn’t advertised as damaged but I was told by Sunny that he would be keeping my deposit. Absolute scam of a place and I would avoid at all costs. 70 yards down the road there is an excellent second hand garage with honest trustworthy people.

If you’re thinking of buying a car from this dealership, do your homework first.

Don’t just look at the 5-star reviews on autotrader which have clearly been left by the dealership. Scroll down and read the lower reviews as that’s where you’ll get a much better idea of other customers’ experiences. The staff are rude and unprofessional and sell cars with multiple issues.

Save yourself the headache and take your money elsewhere.

If I could give this dealership 0 stars I would. They made me wait indefinitely for the car I bought from them, with no contact unless I called several times a day to try and get an update. They eventually delivered the car about 3 weeks after the agreed date for me to receive it.

When it arrived, one wheel was the wrong colour and the delivery driver left rubbish in the door bins from the chocolate and drinks he likely consumed on the way. The customer service was incredibly poor - person on the other end of the line raised his voice multiple times and spoke in an unprofessional and dismissive tone. It was also very difficult to speak to anyone whenever I tried to contact the dealership.

However the biggest issue is that within the first 6 months of owning the vehicle, it will now no longer go into reverse gear. After taking it to my mechanic for a diagnostic, he found 2 pages worth of faults with the vehicle. Tried contacting Motor Town through their website (no reply of course). Called them up and was told to not bother them and contact my finance company.

After contacting Zuto, I discovered this dealership is now on their ‘banned’ list due to excessive complaints. If that isn’t enough to tell you to buy your car elsewhere, I don’t know what is.

I hope anyone who reads this makes the smart decision and takes their hard earned money elsewhere!

After delivery of my vehicle Mokka SH21 LRU had to contact motortown (Sunny) to complain of missing and damaged parts overall botch job !! Was promised a payment to fix problem this has never been paid!
So now have issued them a letter regarding my rights for a full refund consumer protection 2015 act ! Still no response so now have decided to contact citizens advise and escalate to trading standards with my photo evidence after taking the car to a proper mechanic to check it out !!

In May i part exchanged my car for one of their cars. After taking the new car and leaving mine with them, Motor Town took 7 weeks to settle finance on the car they had from me. so i had to pay 2 monthly payments of £327 to the finance company for a car i no longer had. The finance company sent a new settlement figure to reflect these payments which meant that Motor Town got the car for £654 less than agreed. So i am out of pocket for a car which is on their website for sale. (they also had it up for sale before settling the finance)i have emailed and phoned Motor Town but they are totally ignoring me.

Avoid this dealership. I placed a £99 deposit on a Renault Arkana after agreeing a £13k price, only to experience shocking service and total misrepresentation.
• Poor Preparation: Travelled 70 miles (£64 train fare). Arrived to find the dealer already running the car (hiding a cold start). The interior valet was incredibly poor.
• Mechanical & Cosmetic Faults: Heard an annoying passenger door rattle during the test drive. Back at the yard, a mechanic literally just smashed the inside of the door panel to "fix" it. The windscreen pillar trim was misaligned, and the rear bumper trim was a washed-out, faded grey mess.
• Wasted Time: The dealer took the car to a local spray shop to fix the trim, leaving me stuck at a nearby McDonald’s. He then abandoned me there to pick up another customer. After waiting over 2.5 hours, the car was still taped up and unready. I eventually had to demand a ride back to the train station.
• Hidden History: Only after pressing for information did I discover it was an ex-lease car with a rapid turnaround of owners (one holding it for just 2 months).
• Withholding Deposit: After pulling out of the deal due to the car's condition, the dealer refused a full refund. He tried to deduct money, claiming he spent £300 on servicing and fixing the trim—work that should have been done before I arrived. He only offered a £50 refund.
This is a classic backstreet operation lacking any professionalism. I am currently escalating this through my bank and Trading Standards to recover my deposit. Buyers beware.
