Suck up, company. Does whatever the orange guy says to do, yet doesn't have the courage or conviction to make these dumb name changes global across Google Maps.. just for the American audience that uses Google. So much brown-nosing from a company that one used the motto 'dont be evil'. lol.

I deleted Google Maps and will be using MapQuest. They at least have a spine unlike Google. Shameful to rename bodies of water because of a deranged man’s whim. Boo Google Maps!

I am very disappointed that Google Maps have made the decision to rename Lake Ontario and for that matter the Gulf of Mexico. Can we really trust a company that doesn't stand up to a bully?

What good is a map company that relabels lakes for the whim of a crybaby king? Nope. That is too low.

I will no longer use Google Maps after their renaming Lake Ontario. People need to stand up to this deranged dictator.

Google is misidentifying Lake Ontario as Lake America. It's been late Ontario for over 400 years and it is the indigenous name for that body of water. For Google to submit to one demented individual's demand that the lakes name should be changed is ridiculous!

Actually, I’ve not had a bad experience with Google Maps. Just sooo disappointed with renaming Lake Ontario - why? Capitulating to the orange egomaniac dictator?

It is a disgrace that a world leading company bows to the whim of a childish president. You can't just change a geographical name just because one individual says so no matter who they are. I will do my utmost to avoid anything Google until you stop this madness.

Unilaterally altering standard geographic data to reflect a contentious executive directive—especially one not recognized internationally or by other mapping standards—undermines the accuracy, utility, and neutrality that users rely on Google Maps to provide. Competitors like Apple Maps and MapQuest have maintained geographic integrity by refusing this designation. By contrast, Google's adoption of "Lake America" distorts navigation, ignores centuries of regional heritage, and compromises trust in your platform. Google, please review this decision and restore the accurate, globally recognized designation: Lake Ontario.

Changing Lake Ontario to Lake America. Stupid and ai will no longer use Google Maps since there are so many other options that have not changed the name

I can't trust a company that changes a map to appease a mentally ill man, regardless of his office. They can say they are just following the US governmental board of Geographic names, but they are changing the names of the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario on a world-wide mapping system. Yay to Mapquest for refusing to bow down to a malignant narcissist. I am switching to Mapquest.

Google has fallen to the whim of a manipulative leader's efforts to stir up trouble by "re-naming" Lake Ontario to Lake America. This follows on a ridiculous move that changed the name of Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America. I choose to use programs and apps that are historically accurate and don't succumb to political pressure.

Falsifying actual geographical place names just to appease a truculent toddler. How can I as a user trust Google Maps to get me to my destination when they are randomly changing information on a whim? Very unprofessional and suspect. Zero business ethics. And yes, it is STILL the Gulf of Mexico. Geez, at least get a major border right!

Google - get your head out of djt a$$ and correct “the lake of America” back to the correct name Lake Ontario. No one can trust your maps if you are so easily manipulated. I would of given you a -100000000 stars if possible.

Google Maps cannot be trusted. They label places according to the whims of an idiot. First it was mislabeling the Gulf of Mexico. Now it is Lake Ontario. They manipulate geography.

Got completely lost with it. You have to update you directions. Had to do 15km detour because I took wrong lane.
