An excellent way to get a different perspective on your newsfeed and can help provide transparency on media biases from the left to the right.

Offering different perspectives is critically important for development of human race

It's OK, but it's just mainstream sources which all really agree with each other. There is no independent media or information from other competent sources to balance out the big global players.

I went to unsubscribe, jumped through the hoops, was offered a deal which I chose not to take and got 'Error', contact customer services.

I guarantee that if I chose to stay, there would have been no 'Error'.

Contacted Customer Services... Not impressed.

I started with Ground News a month ago, and it has quickly turned into the basis of my twice-daily news scan. Finding a source like this that can help you understand the biases you might not have otherwise detected is of high value for anyone, but as an American living overseas, it has proven critical to my ability to keep a finger, from a distorting distance, on the pulse of unfolding life and events in my home country. Really excellent summaries are provided on all the headlines, and the links to original articles combined with the information offered by Ground News about those sources is essentially priceless. Highly recommended to any expat - and any American eager to be sure to hear reliably and critically from all sides on the debates driving events in our society.

It simply is made very well. Especially with the Vantage Plan (I’m subscribed to), there are a lot of functions beyond the Bias, which itself is already a lot (and very interesting). For example, the Ownership section is interesting, and I read the email I subscribed to, with the summary of the news every day. I recommend trying out the app/site yourself. You will already be convinced with the free version, but the upgrades are worth it too and really don’t cost that much if you consider that people pay more than 10$ a month just for watching series. (And to Kurzgesagt fans: Look out for the sponsor! ;) )
I really appreciate the whole idea, which seems new, original, and necessary to me!

Broaden Your Scope Without Getting into the Weeds

Up front: I believe that you get what you pay for. If you want reliable information, it is unlikely to be free, and this is especially true of news sources.

Ground News is not just a good news source but also stands out is in its ability to deliver multiple viewpoints on the same subject without having to "get your hands dirty". By this I mean that you can see a spectrum of viewpoints and quickly pick the more reliable and unsensational articles with different views, easily avoiding "Infowars" or "Occupy Democrats".

It is also good to see the blind spots on both sides to see not only where news outlets are leading people, but where they are pretending that some subjects don't even exist.

If you want to be informed, it isn't comfortable, it isn't free and it isn't simple. My motto for Ground News would be "Not for Blowhards".

Grund News is great tool look beyond one’s algorithm bubble and curate the sources for one’s areas of interest.

After several months, I can wholeheartedly recommend Ground News to any reader who is looking to find an unbiased tool for reading the news and comparing sources. There are plenty of news sources already available which make cross-referencing easy and thus giving the reader a better range to form their own opinions. It would be good to see more sources available for certain parts of the world. Although this is a time-consuming process, and it does seem like a primary concern to the team who offer great costumer service, and are more than willing to exchange e-mails over any concern regarding the platform. The subscription service is also a great bargain when compared to other platforms.

What I really don't like about other news feeds is that they are skewed left or right biased. I don't want to be in a echo chamber, but rather get both sides (and center) and come to my own conclusions. Ground News does just that, gives you all sides and lets you get the 'sense' of the news. News is already bad most of the time, why make it worse? Highly recommend.

I wouldn’t trust them, stuck in a subscription we don’t want or use. Really bad customer service, my son tried to sort it out but was met with greed and hostility.

Ground News is a great site for up-to-the-minute news from virtually all news sources! It’s highly customizable and checks sources for accuracy and political “bent” so you get more than meets the eye. It also seems to eliminate individual news sources’ paywalls. And the price is amazing! I could not get 1/20th of the news I get from Ground News if I subscribed to all these sources individually.

Ive had my ground news subscription for a full year now and i think it is a great tool. Being able to see who owns various outlets and what their biases might be has been really helpful. its also been so interesting to compare the wording of various versions of the same story across so many platforms. I love that it also links to the original articles and i dont have to go googling to find the original sources myself. there are many things i love about this software but this is just to point out a few.

In my opinion horrific company, trying to charge me for a subscription, will not let me cancel even though I asked within the time period of cancellation. Can not even access my account and they still take money...

First of all, about the service itself: Ground news works as advertised. Articles are rated from left leaning to right leaning and then grouped up so each topic has multiple articles from different points of view. Topics are also sourced globally and can be filtered by region, among other things.

Customer support is very fast and helpful. I did screw up something with my subscription cancellation and the issue got resolved within less then 4 hours on a Sunday.

I've been subscribed to ground news for a year and the surface was OK. However, when I went to unsubscribe, I found it almost impossible.

When you login to their website, they offers no way unsubscribe. So I found a video on YouTube that supposedly explained how, but the narrator spoke with an incomprehensible Indian accent.

The breakthrough came when I realized that I had subscribed to them through PayPal. But when I logged into PayPal, I couldn't find my subscription because it turned out the payment was under "Snapwise" (as if I should have to remembered that a year laetr)

In summary, I believe any auto-renewing Internet subscription should make it VERY EASY .to unsubscribe. This was not easy!

Great Concept, But Execution Falls Short

I really like the idea behind Ground News, but I found the execution lacking. If you're fine with just reading headlines and AI-generated summaries, this might work for you. However, if you're someone who wants to read the full articles and dive deeper into the news, it can feel a bit unsatisfying.

I also prefer to know more about the news sources beyond just being labeled as left, right, or center. I think there’s more to the story than that, and it’s important to understand the full context of the publication.

Additionally, I unsubscribed from their newsletter several times, but I still receive it, which has been frustrating. I paid for a full year of the service, and I’m six months in. I decided to cancel my subscription (without asking for a refund), and to their credit, they did reach out to ask why I canceled. I appreciate that—they seem committed to improving, but right now, this isn’t the service I’m looking for.

I bought a subscription a few months ago and I am disappointed. For some reason I was getting a lot of unwanted news from Canada and I couldn't figure out how to tune the app to serve me news from regions and topics I'm interested in. I used it less and less and eventually cancelled my subscription which is by default set to auto-renew!

The site is supposed to build trust but they set you up for auto-renewal & you can't undo it. This is the same, nefarious B.S. every untrustworthy subscription-based service does to (unwittingly) lock you into their site. Horrible.

They're charging now to view "articles", that they didn't even write. 5 articles free per month... who the f*** do you think you are the WSJ? Whatever brain-dead product manager thought he was clever charging people to read AI generated summaries of articles written by actual publications should be fired.

Brilliant, to see, where you are biased and what is going on in the world. Which news have been withheld.
