Keep well away from hairs and sons since the new owner took over she's completely unprofessional made my in-laws move out even though they be living there for 23 years.

DO NOT USE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT!!
Hair & Son Property Management signed a contract with a private car parking management company without consent of ALL landowners. They claim they are allowed to do this as they act on behalf of the Directors of the Association. I have pointed out that this is incorrect, only two out of three directors own part of the freehold out of 18 flats. This is causing many problems to residents (some elderly and vaunerable). The lease does not state the parking area is managed or that permits need to be displayed.
Currently, between them, they are profiting from land they do not own (although this is being denied).
Despite numerous emails and calls to Peter and Marie they still insist on this intrusive behaviour.
Furthermore the Secretary of the Association works alongside H&S for a company called Purco Ltd. The MD specialises in right to manage. It seems to be all about profit rather than what is right or wrong.

There seems to be a bit of a theme here - if Hair & Son are making money out of you, you might get a good service. However, if you are unfortunate enough to be a leaseholder for a property they manage, you can expect to be ignored and treated like a second class citizen. The management team do not answer the phone, return calls when messages are left, or respond to emails in a timely manner. The only communication you can count on are demands for money.

Reading the previous review, I see a pattern here. Hair and son are the managing agent for my property and I have had multiple issues with them not following up or owning issues of late. They consistently wash their hands of duties and going through the complaints procedure seems to be an utter waste of time. The complaint manager does not respond to emails, ignores phone calls and six weeks after lodging formal complaints has not even responded or addressed the complaints yet (while ignoring phone calls and voice mails).

Would steer clear. Waste of space.

Hair and Son did a horrendous Job of managing my property. I raised multiple issues throughout last year of which none were dealt with. One which could have resulted in serious injury and/or hospitalisation. I chased them for months before anything was done. Even then, they completed a short term fix rather than repairing the damage. Their complaints handler (funnily enough - partner in the company) was just as incompetent, non-responsive to emails/phone calls and frankly rude. I am still dealing with issues to my property due to their incompetence in property management.

We have just used Hair & Son to lease our shop . Diane Tait was the person who we dealt with and she could not nave been more helpful. It was not straight forward and she really worked hard for us. I would recommend them to anyone. The whole team are so helpful .

I loved this firm's approach to their clients. It is not often you would find yourself using the words `honest' and `helpful' to describe an estate agent(!) but I have nothing but praise for this firm who stand head & shoulders above their Southchurch/Thorpe Bay counterparts. Back in 2012 I registered with a number of estate agents (inc. Hair & Sons) and viewed around 25 properties before making a purchase in 2013 through Blackshaw Homes. Hair & Son carried out their viewings in a helpful non-pushy fashion and were the ONLY estate agent who wished me well with my new purchase. If I ever decide to put my current home on the market I would not consider any other firm to take on the marketing other than Hair & Son.
