Really disappointed with this shop today and certainly will not be coming back to the Thames Ditton branch!

I read the good reviews and decided to travel here as I have a number of items I wanted to have valued and sell perhaps.

Another customer entered the shop before myself and my sister so we took a seat whilst he was attended by the member of staff (tall chap with brown hair)

I was more than happy to wait with my sister as I understand these type of businesses need to take time with each customer. So we were happy to sit, chat and wait until it was our turn to be seen.

An older couple came into the shop and stood next to us. Immediately the shop assistant greeted them and asked how he could help.

I was perplexed as he had not greeted us but I assumed this had been as he was already serving someone else. My sister looked at me and stood up to leave. I said he had just completely ignored us and let the couple jump ahead of us. We had been waiting probably about 6-7 minutes.

This was not right, so I asked why he had ignored us and he said it was because he was serving the first customer.

This made no sense as why serve the couple if he was busy with the first person into the shop.

Had he really not seen 2 very tall black women come into his shop, take a seat and wait for several minutes for him to serve us? Why would we come into a shop and sit down? Perhaps we were invisible in Hamilton Gold Company.

The whole thing made no sense!

I’m not sure if this was skin colour related but there is no need to ignore people sitting down and patiently waiting and then rush to serve customers that had just entered the store!

Why are some people given better service than others? Some can be ignored for an unknown amount of time. Whilst some people should be seen and served almost instantly!

One thing is for sure I won’t be back.

Lame excuses were given for bad behaviour. If he’d said sorry I completely hold my hands up, please wait and I’ll see you after I’ve seen this person. There would have been no issue.

A person quick to rectify an issue is always quickly forgiven and respected as oppose to someone that lies to cover a micro aggression.

I over heard him saying that his colleague, ‘Jack’ was not in that day. So why not just tell everyone to wait and he will see us all as soon as possible? It’s such a sleepy location no one would have been upset.

But as usual the person made an excuse and made us the ones in the wrong.

Never mind there’s plenty of other shops we can take our items to.

Instead, after the transaction completed, the investment value immediately dropped to $142,000 (a decline of nearly 30%), even as the market was climbing.
