Heritage Live Gold VIP, NOT WORTH IT

I would NEVER EVER attend an event or concert organised by Heritage Live or any held at Sandringham Estate again! Went to see Mariah Carey yesterday, 15th August.

The good stuff: Great to see Mariah Carey, who sang well and looked great. Nile Rodgers & Chic really got the crowd going an hour before and his singers were amazing! VIP WCs were clean throughout and pleasant to use. The Norfolk Hampers were of good quality I'd definitely buy DIRECT from them as well as book a tour of Sandringham estate DIRECT as the little we saw of the gardens on the way to pick the hampers looked great. Avoid Heritage Live to organise any of the above or event, honestly associating them in any way to Mariah, Norfolk Hampers and HRH is ...I reserve my comment but they ought to be greatly ashamed.

Onto the very bad:
No clear signage entering the estate and nothing to point to VIP parking section (never knew it even existed till we got in), nobody asks you anything of the sort. Only instructed to red gate standard parking after staff looked at the car pass. Nothing wrong with it but if you've paid for VIP parking you should get it and be met at a certain standard from start to finish. Worked out in the end for us as later staff told us not to move the car to VIP parking because they shut off the access gate through the gardens and that meant we'd avoid walking all the way round at the end of the event.

Gold VIP was under whelming and day light robbery for what was delivered. Two tickets purchased Golden Circle each £135 plus £405 each for "Gold VIP" and bought parking pass £12.50 so just shy of £1100 in total. Gold was advertised convincingly including that there'd be a great view of the stage from VIP...this was not true and only if you'd stand for hours in the Golden Circle where you'd lose you space if you needed the VIP toilets.

The stage was NOWHERE NEAR VIP SECTION AND THE VIEW WAS ABYSMAL! There was a seating area at the back of VIP, that you'd need binoculars to view the stage. VIP didn't even have its own big screen to view the stage, appalling. The other area with the wicker like seating you could just about see the screen located beside the stage. The other faux grass covered seats were angled a little better to see the screen and popular choice for first come first served. The street artists were very talented but it was so jarring and disjointed to have music blasting from the stage and have them singing and playing live instruments at the same time during intervals of waiting. Truly bizarre for the audio senses, poorly organised.

Food and drink stalls were extortionate as expected, glad we took insulated bottle prefilled with ice and refilled at the free water stations. The hamper was filled to the brim so we were pretty full and still didn't manage to finish half it.

The collection of the Northfolk hamper was dreadful, told to go here and there with no clear signage (do you sense a pattern, hint parking fiasco) and no guide or help in the sweltering sun. Kindly another pair, mother and son volunteered to show us as they couldn't finish the hamper and didn't not want to litter the garden as no bins or instructions on what to do with the box.
After being embarrassed and made to feel like a lying beggar (was never sent dietry choice email to get a collection reference) thankfully the hamper reps gave us the
hampers we'd paid for. There clearly were many others an A4 page full of people in the same boat who had to write their lastnames due to not having references.
We were never sent the Sandringham house tour booking slot either so we never had one and after the hamper embarrassing fiasco it was all too much to go through again.

As the sun went down and it got much cooler VIP didn't even have fancy outdoor heating or blankets to continue enjoying the evening. No Mariah Carey merchandise and no stall to buy from. We got nothing to mark the event, just the wrist bands, oh joy! WiFi would have been great too and charging banks. Heritage Live have a skewed view of what VIP means and I doubt know what it means. It was not planned nor executed well, very amateur. You'd expect a high standard since they organising an event with a megastar's name to attract the crowd whilst operating on HRH's land! They relied too heavily on the Sandringham Estate and hamper to set the Gold ticket holders apart from Bronze and Silver, not worth it in that respect.

I'll be making a complaint.

Edited for typos.

Terrible

Terrible. What a waste of money. Bought chairs to take in but tile we couldn’t sit on them only in certain places which is fine but please put signs up. Security too bothered about our chairs but seems it was ok for some people to piss where they wanted to and smoke weed. Suggest they get priorities right. Parking terrible. Left before main act because I knew it would take 4 hours to get home.
Only give 1 star because zero wasn’t an option

Access & egress abysmal

Access & egress abysmal, too many people, no clear signage. They invite people to bring chairs then heavy handedly prevent people sitting on them whilst ignoring people (men) openly pissing in a public area. Best avoided

What utter poor organisation

What utter poor organisation. Entry gates opened late, stage location meant viewing the acts live was virtually impossible. Food and drink prices were ridiculous. Acts were neither introduced nor informed the the next artists would be in 45 minutes or more!! The only thing that the management was bothered about is MONEY. Never again to one of their gigs !!

Sandringham Estate Concerts

Just a heads up for anyone who might attend a concert at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

I went to see Mariah Carey on 15th August 2025, we were charged £400 (each) for so called 'Bronze VIP' tickets.

The VIP section is nowhere near the stage and to the right at the back of the gardens. You get more space, but if I'm charged VIP, I expect to be closer to the stage. When I saw Gwen Stefani at Warwick Castle, I was charged £150 for VIP and was in an exclusive section IN FRONT OF the stage rather than miles back.

Meanwhile, at Sandringham, if you pay £150, you can get Golden Circle which is near the front. I won't be going back to Sandringham for a concert ever, but I would have got Golden Circle if I'd known.

The food in VIP section was also expensive and poor quality, I ordered a chicken panini and there was barely anything in it. The VIP section is also located to the right which means you have to walk all the way round the park to get to it, a longer walk than for people who bought standard tickets. Whoever organises these events at Sandringham needs to be sacked and someone else brought in, it's the worst concert in terms of view of stage and organisation I've ever seen.

On the plus side, Mariah Carey herself was excellent, so there was that silver lining. Goodness knows how 'Gold VIP' must have felt, for 'Gold VIP' you get a hamper and 'exclusive seating' which is literally right at the back of the gardens, I'm appalled they're getting away with calling this 'Gold VIP'. I was pleased with the toilets, but that was about it.

We went to see Roger Daltrey Friday night.. from the security on entrance and venders, were absolutely fantastic!! But big shout out to the security (purple parking) they were all so polite, and the guy (sorry didn't get his name) he wore black and from Sunderland, what a great team!! We will definitely be visiting again when there is an event on! The guys on the main bar were fantastic, no waiting time and again service with a smile

The beach boys were wonderful, which is good because otherwise shambolic rip off

The beach boys were wonderful -e Mike Love and Bruce Johnston can still carry a show and their enthusiasm is touching. Love’s honest and bittersweet tribute to Brian was incredibly moving - although surprised that people felt the need to pack up for the car park fairly thoughtlessly at that point. Thoughtful delegation of those high parts and belts to younger band members - who were awesome. The day was marred totally by the shambolic organisation - VIP area had been oversold - my 81 yo father unable to use it as we needed seats and even hired deckchair refused. When 2 people were sat on enormous and ugly green baize “relaxed” sofas, you wondered if it had been organised by someone’s teenager who’d just finished a hospitality course. £70 “vip” wristbands literally turned out to be money for old rope.
Maybe those packing up early during a memorial knew something I was to learn the hard way. Leaving the car park was genuinely dangerous. The inexperienced stewards and security had no clue what to do and it was lucky not to turn ugly… clearly what little cash the promoters were willing to spend was only spent on external traffic Marshalls, no doubt to adhere to the letter, if not the intent of council licensing requirements. If you plan to go to a Heritage promoted event, I’d recommend avoiding the VIP tickets if you need a seat unless you really value better toilets and easier bar access. And go by train.

VIP not worth it

We paid for VIP as my husband is not very mobile at the moment. I understand seating is available on a first come first served basis but we weren't allowed to bring in our own chairs . We had to pay £10 to hire a deck chair (another money making con). Heritage know how many VIP tickets were sold so why then charge an extra £10 per person. Bottle of cheap wine £12 more than last year. They couldn't care less once they have your money. VIP should mean VIP not rip off

Well organised but a bit disappointing

Went to see the Beach boys concert that also featured Lulu and David Essex. I was impressed with the ease of parking - no delays even though the pre-info suggested 1.5 hours.

Less impressed by the cost of food and drink and the warning NOT to take any of your own in. It seemed as if many ignored that and were still let in.

As go the acts, well LULU was amazing. David Essex was good but is an old man singing David Essex songs. The Beach Boys drummer was awesome but Mike Love has lost his high pitch voice and so it was disappointing and was why we left 15 mins early (allowing us to get out of the car park with minimal delay. There should have been some signage of rows in the car park as in the dark you do lose bearings.

My advice is to try to find out if the band you want to see is still up to scratch - instrumentally the Beach Boys were but vocally were pretty poor

We went to Ministry of Sound Classical…

We went to Ministry of Sound Classical on 18/07/25 at Englefield Estate, and I can't praise the organisers enough for how well it was run. It was a really hot day, but free drinking water available. Plenty of wardens collecting rubbish throughout the day, so very little litter. Benches and hay bales to sit on and able to bring own camping chairs and picnic blankets, which was great at such a beautiful setting. Plenty of food and drink outlets to suit all tastes - a bit pricey, but to be expected now at events like this. Organised parking wardens helped move the traffic entering and leaving, which moved pretty quickly considering the amount of cars. All in all a very enjoyable day, helped immensely by the beautiful weather ☀️

Shockingly bad customer service

Shockingly bad customer service. I attended Sandringham Robbie Williams concert August 2023 and camping facilities were extortionately priced and appalling. Portaloos were not fit for use as not emptied at all. No showers provided as advertised at £70 per night!! At the time I complained and was offered VIP tickets for another event (which is what I bought originally but would certainly not recommend either as not enough seating available so I had to sit on the wet grass). I've contacted them to ask for tickets to a Sandringham concert this year (2025) as conveniently there were no concerts held there in 2024... I have had no response. Giles Cooper has been awarded an OBE since but frankly I'm appalled. Leaving the venue was dangerous as no security stopping bottleneck occurring at in adequate exits. I was hoping for an opportunity to give Sandringham gigs another go but I'm certainly not willing to pay after my previous experience.

Excellent venue, but bad transport set up

Excellent venue, great sound, great day but was really disappointed by lack of organisation behind the bar, having to wait over an hour to get served each time. Our journey home was an absolute joke, we left just before the end of the concert to get into the queue for a taxi, but absolutely nothing arrived for over an hour, apart from the pre booked cabs. It’s a shame, no shuttle bus service provided or help to direct people home.
In the end we had to walk a mile and half in pitch black darkness along a dangerous pathway back to Audley End Station, where there was still no Cabs. Please improve your system so your guests can pick up a signal to try organise their own transport so you can help them to get home safely and retain a great memory of the day.

Concert and venue excellent, drinks expensive

Concert excellent as is venue. Drinks very expensive, carafe of rose £44 (enough for 4), £5 deposit on carafe which vendor couldn't return using card only payment method so staff member used own money to refund. We were accused of being 'horrible' women by a very angry female. Why ask for a deposit if it can't be refunded and why extortionate cost of drink..about time Heritage Live allows one small bottle of alcohol to be taken in. Ruined what was a lovely evening.

Excellent venue. Just lacking some organisation

This is a lovely venue. The setup etc is brilliant - great bands really entertaining and good chance of seeing the stage

Unfortunately for the busier nights the bars just cannot cope creating unnecessary long queues

I left slightly earlier to make my train.
I had to walk alone for a long time just to get to the entrance with no one around. No shuttle buses available to the train station means people walking nearly 2 miles in the dark.

Attended Madness Concert which was…

Attended Madness Concert which was good. Unfortunately the entire experience was ruined by truly shocking lack of control of car exit. Multiple staff standing around directly at the exit doing absolutely nothing but cars largely left to fend for themself. Very dangerous and liable to create road rage as people pushed in to queues. Amazed if no bumps/ minor accidents occurred where some lines of 6/7 widths of cars tried to merge into one. Entry fine/ exit awful and clearly the venue organisers/ staff didn’t care at all. Got your money so tough.

Awful crowd and vehicle control.

The concert was fine and the venue is beautiful. But on leaving the crowd is forced down a single narrowing exit which is very dangerous and completely unnecessary. The stewards were pretty invisible until near the exit where there were dozens of them. Those that were directing were clearly innexperienced. There is a warning that "entry and exit may take up to 90minutes" From my experience that is the average time to get out. I will not use the venue again.
