The courteous bus driver
The bus driver, host and tour guide, Kenny. He gave new meaning to the words, friendly and courteously. He also seemed very knowledgeable about the many tidbits of info he shared about Edinburgh, the history of Scotland and Scots in general and especially the epic movie starring Mel Gibson, Brave Heart (a fine movie for Hollywood). I enjoyed just about everything on the tour except maybe the lunch at the Oak Tree Inn, where I literally froze my assistance off, for a little while anyway. Then I finally began thinking for myself and asked why can't I just go inside where it's nice and warm and enjoy a nice lunch without shivering. I just should have informed our tour guide before going inside, which I never would have done if not for the instance of my companion, Ginger. The lunch turned out to be quite lovely and warm for that matter. Thank you Kaptain Kirk for your understanding and for being a wonderful tour guide and bus driver. And thank you especially for not leaving me behind at any of our stops. Best of luck with your upcoming marriage to Lindsey. All the best. Regards, David

Amazing time with Highland Experience Tours
I had an amazing tour with Highland Experience Tours! The booking process was smooth and my trip was true to the description with plenty of time to explore each stop. Jamie was my guide and he went above and beyond! He was professional, but also warm and friendly. I felt like I was with a friend instead of a stranger. He has a gift for storytelling and I could listen to his voice for the rest of my life and never get bored. He provided the perfect combination of history, perfectly timed music, and jokes. This was my first tour, and I can’t imagine I’ll ever get a better tour guide than Jamie. I’ll rebook with Highland Experience when I come back to Scotland!

The best time during our two day tour
We had te best time during our two day tour (jacobite steam train and the great glen). Amazing views and storytelling by our driver/tourguide Ben about the history and context of our surroundings. It was amazing! Everything, including accomodation, was perfectly organised and Ben was super enthousiastic, professional and relaxed. Defenetely recommended to participate in a tour!!

Hyland Experience Tours should be Ashamed of themselves
When I signed up for his tour through Get Your Guide, it explained a tour that would fill us with the rich 5000 year history of the Highlands The first thing our guide Craig did was apologize for not knowing anything about the history of the places we were going or about the Highlands. The day before was the first time he'd driven the route as a recon mission, and we were his first five day tour. He'd never even done an overnight before. I was in the front seat, and before we left, the bus started making a weird noise. When Craig asked his supervisor about it, he said he'd get him a new bus at our next stop. That never happened. Instead, we had to endure five days of a loose fan belt, which sounded like an electric drill. When that wasn't happening, there was a swoshing sound like an ocean machine was on. This made it difficult to understand the already heavy Scotland accent of our driver. Two of the place we were supposed to visit did not allow large buses. Craig sweet talked one of them into letting us stop because he was new. Our accommodations were spread out all over the areas we stopped with some not within walking distance to restaraunts for dinner. I called Get Your Guide, whom I booked the tour through and explained all of this, requesting a refund. Hyland Experience lied, saying all their drivers are well seasoned and knowledgable. Craig isn't even on thier website, he's so new. I love Get Your Guide as they respectfully refunded a part of the tour when Hyland Experience refused to acknowledge the problem and discontent customer.

We are very sorry to read your negative feedback regarding your 5-Day Scottish Choice Tour and regret that your experience did not meet expectations. However, we must clarify several points in your review.
As explained in detail in the email correspondence sent to you, your tour departure did operate as scheduled, with all key elements of the itinerary covered to the best extent possible under the day’s conditions. The driver will always attempt to make a stop at the Glenfinnan monument itself, but unfortunately on this day the carpark was full, and the staff on site were not accepting any buses. We do reserve the right to alter our itineraries, and we are glad you were still able to experience the beautiful surrounding scenery and drive much of the route of the Jacobite Steam Train.
We are shocked to read your feedback regarding your expert driver guide. All our guides, including new members of the team, undergo extensive training and route familiarization before leading any multi-day tour. While Craig was newer to leading extended tours, he is a fully licensed and qualified guide who met all required standards before departure. Only a small handful of drivers are highlighted at any given time on our website and we have a large team of professional guides and drivers. Our quality records and passenger feedback from other customers do not reflect your comments. While regional accents can occasionally present challenges for some visitors, this does not reflect a lack of knowledge or effort on the guide’s part. We encourage passengers to voice such concerns during the tour so that accommodations can be made in real time. We can understand that a joke poking fun about not knowing some of the locations was not appreciated out of context and this feedback has been passed to our transport management.
Regarding the vehicle, it was fully inspected before departure and cleared for service. Our fleet is maintained to high standards, and we would not knowingly send out a vehicle that is not fully fit for purpose. Our vehicles are checked every morning and evening to ensure that everything is functioning properly, but unfortunately issues can occur whilst on tour. A minor noise was reported and monitored throughout the trip and did not pose a safety risk. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused regarding the noise on the bus and we have taken your feedback on board.
We welcome all feedback that helps us improve, but we must also defend our guides and company and we are confident that your driver guide went above and beyond to try to give you a wonderful experience on tour. We remain committed to providing authentic, high-quality Highland experiences to every passenger but we regret that we were unable to match your expectations this time.

Great small tour out to Loch Ness and Glencoe this week. Took my mum and 3 year old son. Was worried how he would go, but he was brilliant and so was our driver and guide Alex, who had a huge amount of knowledge and some jokes too. Many thanks for a great experience, my mum especially loved it.

Amazing tour and guide
We were very happy with our tour with driver, guide and friend Hugh. He is an amazing guide who took very good care of everybody, facilitated lots of stories and kept us in a happy and good mood on the whole tour. He should be given at least 6 of 5 stars.
The reason we don't give 5 stars has nothing to do with the driver, guide and friend, Bed and Breakfast or stops on the tour. We were told that the tour was limited to 16 persons. But we were 24 in a larger bus for 32. The trouble here is that the communication with the tour guide naturally will be restricted and one way mostly. Also it takes more time to get in and out of the bus. Furthermore a larger bus cannot park at the same spots as a smaller van can. This is a minor thing, but we feel it should be mentioned in an honest feedback.

Knowledgable guide and packed itinerary!
Our guide Alex was really knowledgable and took great care of us. He really put a lot of effort into making our experience a great one.
We booked on the late side and we did not have very many choices for hotels. The hotel that the tour company picked was not very nice. I would have preferred to pay some extra money and stay somewhere nicer.
There was a lot packed into the 3 days. We saw a lot of sites! We left every morning at 8am and returned at 8pm. I think i would have preferred to make fewer stops, enjoy fewer things and stay longer at each one.

Beautiful country, great guides, delightful fellow travelers
Beautiful country, great tour guides and delightful fellow travelers made for a wonderful 8 day trip in the Highlands of Scotland. Isle of Skye was rugged and magical. Orkney was lush and beautiful. Chris, our guide for the first 4 days was charismatic and entertaining. Kenny, our guide for last 4 days was incredibly nice, informative and shared his passion for Scottish history and culture. While very different in styles, both were excellent guides and drivers. All the B&Bs we stayed in were lovely and comfortable with friendly hosts.

Long and perfect day…
Tourguide Terry told interesting historical stories. She did evrything by heart with humor and a very vivid positivity.
A perfect balance between information, Scottish music and silence!!!
On top of that Chris(Irish Robby) performed not only as a very proffesional super driver, but contributed almost as a comedian.
The chemystry between them, the beautiful Highlands, just a few drops of rain, nice guests in the bus......i had a perfect day!!!!!

The trip I booked was great
The trip I booked was great, the option to have them book the accommodations made it super easy. A minor issue arose and they quickly responded to me and kept me informed. The guide Jamie was funny, engaging and super informative. All the areas we stopped were beautiful. I would definitely book a trip with them again. My accommodations were booked at the Gleninver Guest House, the property was super cute and comfortable and the host was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay again.

Very long day with no food or coffee
Did not have time to eat or have coffee. It was a choice between seeing the sight or eating. We were there for the sights, so grabbed something on the go, not always very good.
The guide was too chatty and talked too much about herself. She did not sound to like someone whose information you would trust. For instance, she mentioned the unicorns on Stirling Castle's tapestry, made it sound like a weird thing, but did not explain the why there would be unicorns.
The driver was excellent.

They took care of all our worries
They took care of all our worries. It was so stress free. Jacqueline, our guide, was flexible, fun and knowledgeable. If you want to do a trip where you don’t have to drive or worry about things, book with Highland Experience! I can’t imagine a more perfect private tour of the Highlands.

The Best Tour Guide for Outlander Fans!
My daughter and I went on the 2 day Outlander Trail Small Group Tour and it was undoubtedly the best tour we’ve ever taken!
There were 4 things that made this tour unforgettable- the weather was fantastic! the number of Outlander linked sites we visited and the fact that there were only 5 people in the tour making it seem more like a family outing.
However; the most important feature of this tour that made it fantastic was Kenny (Capt.) Kirk. He is absolutely the best guide ever! We got to know him personally and professionally, that’s why I say this felt like a family outing. On our next visit, we won’t book a tour we find interesting, we’ll simply find out which tour Kenny will be guiding (apologies to the other great guides!)
I absolutely recommend this tour and Kenny.
