Excellent and easy purchase
Excellent and easy purchase. The watch arrived carefully wrapped in an additional presentation box with store branding. Tracked delivery. There was regular email updates from purchase to packing to despatch. Really pleased and very happy with the whole experience

Enquired about a watch that was only available in there Scarborough branch (which was closing down ) ..after a brief conversation with the Sheffield branch about getting it over to look at .. they kept me informed and told me when it would arrive….and was absolutely blown away by the service at the Sheffield branch ..a very special experience not an expensive watch by there standards but was deeply impressed from start to finish .. very very professional and intimate..outstanding 👍

Felt not good enough
Saw some rings in the window, majority a price we were looking to pay.
Went in, a really good feeling, everyone smart, well turned out, the assistant seemed a little disinterested although was initially helpful, although each time the door rang (you need to buzz to get in) he looked over staring.
He asked a price and using the prices in the window as a gauge, I said that, although we could pay more if needed, I was told that was not possible (I was a little surprised, as it didn’t marry to what I had seen, however I assumed we would discuss.
On going to fetch the rings - we assumed - and price we were presented with the price only, and no rings - trying in an actual ring would have helped build an emotional bond.
We were then told to go try somewhere else.
We left and were both shocked! Actually felt like we were not good enough. Maybe how we were dressed (for the cinema). We went to somewhere else nearby who was helpful, accommodating, interested, gave time and attention, and although we have to wait a few weeks for both rings and paid more than we (even secretly) planned, it all felt so right.

Very pleased with my watch though still working out what automatic actually means on a watch since not had one before. But overall a happy customer, watch delivered on time at a good price and would recommend this company to others.

An experience never to be forgotten.
This experience deserves sharing, despite being ancient. Circa 1983 when buying my wife's Rolex Datejust and my Submariner, we both recall the utterly exemplary service we received from Mr Smith of WH Brown, Doncaster. Funereally garbed in black suit, black tie and white shirt he was courtesy personified (before, during and after we decided to make a purchase). We bought the Datejust and went back to order the Sub' some months later, following Mr Smiths question to me: "--and what about Sir? We could offer a splendid discount of 20% on a bi-metal Submariner." I ordered on the spot and the wait was six weeks. Collection lasted an hour whilst Mr Smith explained every intricacy of the watch. He even checked I'd fed the parking meter sufficiently well for a prolonged visit. Memorably excellent experience from over forty years ago. I might add. that Mr Smith and I had a long conversation about watches, where he related a story to me about a Doncaster customer who had spent some 9,000 pounds on a Patek Philippe some months previously. Mr Smith was asked in bluff Yorkshire, "Na'then if I get knocked down in't' road walking out of 'ere' will anybody know what I'm wearin' on mi wrist? To which Mr Smith replied, "Unlikely Sir, but if you were to be knocked down in Geneva, everyone would know exactly what you had on your wrist."

Engagement ring shopping

The H L Brown web site was very easy to use and the watch I ordered was delivered to my nearest branch within three days. Collecting it from there also proved trouble free the staff at the branch being very helpful. Overall the buying experience from H L Brown was very good.
