Usual insurance company happy to take your money when they feel they cant lose 🙄 will try anything to worm out of a claim.all in the t&c exclusions. Premium put up for anything they feel as risk to an almost unbelievable amount. Waste of money. All a con. Very disappointed how I've been treated after 5 years paying these scammers.

Fantastic support

Holloway Friendly have been fantastically supportive to me after an injury meant I could no longer continue in my job. Everybody I have spoken to in their claims team over the last 2 years has been extremely friendly and helpful.
I am so grateful that I took out a self employed sickness policy with them several years ago. They have given me financial support as well as physiotherapy to help me recover. I have no hesitation in recommending Holloway Friendly to anybody who is self employed.

Everything about my claim from day one…

Everything about my claim from day one was brilliant. I had an issue early on in my claim and it was dealt with swiftly and professionally.
There was absolutely no issues throughout the process and I would/have recommend to friends and family who would benefit from this service.

Was diagnosed with having spinal stenosis, had to under go bilateral discectomy surgery and wasn’t able to return to my line of work as a hgv mechanic, from start to finish Holloway were absolutely fantastic. No issues what so ever, I was off work for a good while. I’m now back in a different role. The team were great checking up with me, offering different things from physio to doctors. Thanks again Holloway for all the help and support through a difficult time.

I am a financial adviser and would like to comment on the service I have had with the company.

Tracey, Senior Underwriter - 5* service!

I have been speaking with Tracey over the last week in relation to a client that has had a range of medical disclosures. Tracey took charge of the application for me after having a pre-sale call and explaining the complexity of the case. Tracey received the application by 7pm on an evening and I had terms the following morning by 10am! Since receiving terms, I have sent over numerous additional disclosures for the client which Tracey has assessed within a couple of hours at most! 5* service and this has given me the confidence to use Holloway Friendly for my clients as much as possible.

Don’t purchase it’s no help when not working

So when you pay for an insurance to cover you when off work you expect it to pay when not working , well this one took weeks to start paying then when it did pay money it wasn’t close to your actual wage you earned . Not just that at end of the time when back at work the company asks for money back . Don’t purchase this insurance it’s no help to loyal working people that just want cover when unable to work !!

Thanks for your feedback. Our plans are sold to members to cover them when they are not able to work because of an illness or accident. They'll have received financial advice about their individual circumstances before they choose the benefit amount and wait periods before the claim can be paid.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service, can’t be contacted by phone, and when eventually got through had to wait for a callback that never came. Like other reviews should have done my research beforehand, terrible experience and difficult to deal with, avoid these guys, never heard of them before dealing with them and now I know why

They offer several ways for you to contact them, yet it seems the staff used for answering the phone are on a permanent holiday and the email service is always ignored….might aswell burn the hundreds of pounds policy money or alternatively go to a more reputable company!…8 years and all they have done is increase my outgoings.

Do not waste your time or money

This company is happy to collect monthly payments, but if you need to use the policy, they do everything only pay out. Everything is made extremely difficult, and hurdle after hurdle set in front of you, and different stories from different employees when you contact them. Got all my information to do a financial assessment, to calculate my weekly payment and sent email confirming a figure, then months later a senior advisor looking more information to do it over again, complete time wasters.I eventually cancelled my payments and cut my losses after almost 5 months of nothing, as I could no longer afford to keep paying. They are happy to take your money to continue paying their negligent staff. A quick review search on google will confirm this. With hindsight, i should have done my due diligence before taking out the policy early 2023. Money down the drain, and no income in the lead up to Christmas. Avoid at all cost

Do not use this company

Do not use this company, absolutely useless, took my money for 4 years & didn’t pay out when I had a genuine injury along with doctors notes & tax returns. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Everyone we dealt with was very kind

Everyone we dealt with was very kind, helpful and supportive throughout the claim period and payments were made promptly. Starting the claim was easy through the website. Great communication either by phone or email.
We never thought we would have to make a claim when we took out the insurance but we are so glad we did as the money helped us through a difficult time.

Worse company to deal with

Worse company to deal with. We were paying them since more then a year and now we put a claim they rejected it. They don’t consider a DR/GP sick note. Worse claim adviser name Helen. She loves her voice and doesn’t let you speak. We are chasing them since a month now. DONT GO TO THIS COMPANY THRY WILL TAKE UR MONEY AND WILL NEVER APPROVE ANY Claim.

Very intrusive I feel I’ve been treated…

Very intrusive I feel I’ve been treated very poorly I’ve been asked many questions financial details quite in-depth and for access to my medical files very private information I’ve had a complete hip replacement and return to work just after 6 weeks for some reason they made the decision I have not suffered a financial loss because I could still draw a wage from my business account

Holloway wage protection insurance
To pay £750. When I am off ill with genuine illness
I presented all details needed 2 times now
( Waiting 10 weeks)
Still no verification
Still no wages
No mortgage paid as I had to spend a lot of money to help me get back to work
I've resigned work and need to wait until 18.8.25 for my wages ?

This seems to be very unworthy
Too many people involved with my claim
Passed around
No one has any factual.info as required
I need to hand to legal authorities & ombudsman if required
My monthly payment increased also after 2 months of subscription ??

Not very impressed !

Terrible experience with this company. Had to wait for almost 3months and endless emails and asking for updates. Ended up doing most of their work myself. Threatened legal action before they decided to act. Please make sure you do not have any company property ie company car…
