I have eaten HyVee Spring Salad for 50+ years. It was better than hot apple pie. Back in the day it was made with large macaroni shells that were cooked to perfection. There were thin slices of radishes and cucumbers but a nice amount, small amount of carrots and celery with a very good mayo dressing.
I moved to Colo and always ask visitors to bring me some. Fast forward to today, I moved back to Iowa and threw away $9.99 or 3 lb tube, it was horrible. The pasta was small shells not cooked, (if you cook pasta for 8 minutes this was cooked for 5), no radishes, 1 sliver of cucumber with only the green skin, carrot slivers for color, celery pieces and horrible dressing which was runny, sour and not a good mayo dressing at all. I’m not sure I will continue to shop at HyVee based on their destruction of a landmark product..

I use the Hy Vee in Altoona

I use the Hy Vee in Altoona, IA. Everyone is so helpful and kind. The stop what they are doing to help me find what I’m looking for. We also love having breakfast there after Church.

The store Director and HR Manager were…

The store Director and HR Manager were horrific to say the least. I slipped and fell on ice in the parking lot breaking 4 ribs, suffered a concussion, cuts and scrapes and injured my back. Spoke with the director for several days wanting to do an incident report and was blown off. Finally, I was told to see HR about it and when I did, I was told this was something we weren't going to discuss this any further. I come from many years of being in upper management and our number one priority was the safety of our employees. When someone was injured, we did a full investigation on what caused the accident and took whatever preventive steps possible to prevent it from happening again. We would do an RCA with a panel of managers to make sure nothing was left out and to prevent getting a recordable injury and to stay compliant with OSHA regulations not to mention keeping our number one asset (Our Employees) safe and free of injury. My situation was completely ignored and swept under the rug leaving me to seek medical attention on my own several weeks later.
Another disappointment was when I was hanging Price Compare signs realizing that on more than half of the prices I scanned not only didn’t match the compare prices but didn’t even match the price on the tag. When I brought my findings up to the director and another manger I was told “Oh, those were supposed to be hung up 3 weeks ago”. I was then told to continue hanging up the compare signs and not to worry about the price. I felt very uncomfortable doing this because it was misleading and deceitful to our customer.
I also felt ashamed the way all the other managers and employees would argue with the customers and not coming away with a very customer friendly resolution to their concerns. Regular employees would often belittle and disrespect management and when it was brought up to the director, I was told that those were their people and they would decide if the employee was acting out of line. Then at the same time some employees would get written up or even fired for the same exact things other employees were doing without any repercussions.
The long and short of it is you would think that a company of this caliber would be held to a hire standard and would have some sort of control over their stores from a corporate level.
Corporate needs to be more involved in making sure rules, policies and procedures are held up to a higher standard and people are held accountable for their actions. Instead, management from a store level are allowed to run amuck.

Worst Eggs

We just bought these 18 Hy-Vee Free Range Brown Eggs 2 days ago. Do not buy these eggs. They are terrible. Eggs are supposed to be firm and hold their shape in the frying pan. The last egg I put in the frying pan was all liquid, like water. This was the second watery egg out of 11 so far.

I have always heard that when you buy…

I have always heard that when you buy with their in store coupons, you have to watch them. Limit 4 so you buy 4 and they only scan the coupon once. Instead of getting 4 dollars off as stated, you get one dollar off. That adds up when you use their ads to buy their specials.
That happened to me today. I was not happy when I got home. The store is awesome but with prices the way they are, I won’t be going back there. Not worth the aggravation. I shouldn’t have to double check every item. There are stores that offer better pricing with the same quality.

Rip off

Rip off, over priced greed mongers who represent all that’s wrong with humanity. Walking out with two small bags of ordinary groceries: $40!!! This place needs to take a long walk off a short pier. NEVER going back.

Got an apron and a potholder as a gift…

Got an apron and a potholder as a gift that I will never use did not have a receipt they would not return it. Still have the tags on it. gave one star otherwise I couldn't report poor customer service. I don't think I'll ever shop there.

Ordered ham dinner for two for Xmas

Ordered ham dinner for two for Xmas. Food was very good but green bean casserole was so bad, I threw it away, had a chemical taste. Called store, told them about it. They were very gracious and made it right.Will order again next year and hopefully they will be more prepared,got there to pick up my order and they had no record of it! They prepared one for me, I can't complain anymore. See you next year!

Ordered the thanksgiving dinner with a spiral ham and a few side dishes plus dessert and this was the third year in a row I’ve done so but apparently greed once again has got ahold of the corporate elite in this company as I’m not surprised! The last two times the food wasn’t that bad this year on the other hand that changed! Portions got smaller prices got bigger and the food was horrible! Green bean casserole was extremely bland and watery and the sage dressing tasted like salt and the cranberry relish tasted like anise oil! The only positive part of the meal was the ham and I think that would be hard to mess up! But for the money that was paid for this meal and like everything else at hy vee the money paid and the prices are and we’re extreme! No more holiday meals from hy vee!

I like HyVee, but

I like HyVee, but the app is terrible. You can’t cancel or change an order. You can add items on the website, but you can’t remove items. They use instacart, but give no way add a tip except beforehand. I never tip personal shoppers until after, because only some of them do a good job.

Expiration dates

Everytime I turn an order for a product with an expiration date, the product usually expires within 2-3 days. Even though I put in the notes to make expiration dates as far out as possible. I'm about ready to take my $400 plus a month to Price Chopper if it happens again! The date is an estimate.

Awful..

Awful... no wonder HyVee is failing ordered some groceries online for delivery. Apparently, at the time I ordered, they had no potatoes, no mushrooms, not beef broth, every kind of Bleu cheese was missing. no ground black pepper and I needed to pay extra for bananas and grapes.

Incorrect weight

Well, just bought some $1.99 a pound chicken wings. Package states 5.01 pounds. Awesome. Get home and I start weighting and packaging the wings into one pound bags. I only have 4.25 pounds of chicken. When I weighted the yellow tray and that soggy cloth that captures moisture under the meat I get, you guessed it, 5.01 pounds. That seems a bit dishonest .

Customer service was so horrible

Customer service was so horrible, I'll never go back. Very rude and was almost yelled at. There are enough grocery stores out there that I don't need hyvee and it's obvious they don't need me. Or anyone I tell of my experience.
