Reduced our CAC by 24%

I'm now on my 3rd month with Icon and I'll keep renewing! I work with them for UGC content creation, static assets, VEO assets, and ad management and honestly I've been happy with all of the above. Their team is extremely responsive and really thinks outside of the box when it comes to content. Results are also pretty clear, since they've taken over our account with creative and management, they've reduced our CAC by 24% and we're seeing incremental lift. They continue to improve their platform and add new features as well. Worth it imo.

Great Experience

We have been using icon for over a month now and have had a great experience with their UGC creators. There has been some minor inconveniences because of website and flow updates, but their team has always been responsive and fixed any issues we have had. Overall, I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews other than it was a new company trying to work some kinks out. For us, right now, icon has been great.

Auto upgraded my plan to $249/month!

I didn't like that it prompted me to invite someone to my account and then when I did it auto upgraded me from $39 to a team plan for $249/month. Not cool. Never logged in again.

Hey Dashiel - super sorry for this. This is a terrible experience and not how billing changes should work.

The processes at the time lacked a confirmation step and didn't make it clear that inviting a user would trigger a plan change. We've since reworked the invite flow to require explicit confirmation before any plan change and we've made the pricing impact clear up front.

I signed up for a 3-day free trial and…

I signed up for a 3-day free trial and was offered a 4-week extension when I tried to cancel. Despite this agreement, they charged my card in full 3 weeks before the extension was set to end. This is a direct breach of their own offer. To make matters worse, there is no way to reach a human representative; their customer service is non-existent. This feels like a predatory "subscription trap." Avoid this service if you value your time and money.

Long story short, a backend bug prevented your extension from applying to your account. We have since fixed this bug and audited our processes to ensure it never happens again. We also recognize how difficult it was to get in touch with us, and it’s not the standard of service we aim to provide to our customers.

Hey Joanna, we apologize for the frustrating experience with the platform.

To be honest, the AI toolset we built in 2025 wasn't capable of consistently meeting quality standards. We now work with real human creators with human review in each step throughout the creative process and the output quality has drastically changed.

The cancellation process was also annoying. Making you email support instead of letting you cancel on your own was a terrible friction point and we apologize for wasting your time. We've finally built self-serve cancellation directly into the dashboard so it's just a single click.

dreadful

dreadful - total scam. I signed up for the three day trial, then couldn't even access my account once they had my credit card details to cancel it. Like other reviewers here - this is a total sham operation - avoid at all costs

Our deepest apologies for this. Getting locked out of your account is a terrible experience and should not have happened.

Long story short, we had a serious bug during the trial-to-paid transition where some users couldn't get back in to manage their subscriptions. The access issue has since been fixed and we’ve added a clear, self-serve cancellation path so that cancellation will never be an issue.

To be honest, the AI tools we offered in 2025 simply weren't delivering the quality we promised. Since then, we've completely shifted away from the AI ad model. We now work with real human creators with human review throughout the creative process and the output has vastly improved.

Régis, we are sincerely sorry for the disappointing experience. I can completely understand why you/team felt like this was a scam.

To put it simply, our early billing flow failed to require explicit confirmation and our cancellation process itself was buggy.

This is now fixed: we’ve added clearer billing confirmations before any charges and self-serve cancellation in the dashboard. We now make sure that our customers are fully aware of any plan changes + of their cancellation options.

None of that undoes your bad experience and it's totally fair for you to be skeptical until we earn your trust back. If we owe you a refund, please reach out to help@icon.com :-)

Tried it because my boss asked me to…

Tried it because my boss asked me to and it was a total fail. Nothing worked as they said it should. You can't edit any of the ads. Half the time they don't even load. I messaged support and they said "it was a known issue and they'll pass it along to the eng team". No actual help or a timeline for things to be fixed. The bad ai ads did provide some entertainment for me and my coworkers. We had many laughs over the fails.

Then I cancelled within the 3 day free trial and they charged us $199 for "50% off 3 months" which I never agreed to. Very scammy

Not What It Seems

AI generated ads make Icon AI look great but don’t be fooled. I signed up for the trial, canceled before it ended, and still got overcharged. When I reached out for help I found out that the entire team I had worked with had recently quit, which says a lot.

The hype on LinkedIn seems inflated by paid bots or fake accounts. I fell for it and regret it. The CEO’s posts are concerning, especially since he encourages people to drop out of college to join his company despite the clear internal issues and high turnover.

Save yourself the trouble and run in the opposite direction.

We had a billing bug that didn't register cancellations correctly - resulting in overcharges that should not have happened.

Charge money without prior consent

In addition to having quite miserable results they charged me 400 without any explicit authorization. Their support email address doesn't respond at all. Looks like there's only one guy working on it, mostly on marketing and money pulling.

To be honest, our 2025 billing flow didn't require explicit confirmation for certain plan changes and our support was understaffed. This was a terrible experience for our clients and we have since fixed it.
