When it works the charger is good ***updated*** and updated again!

I've had this charger installed as part of my company EV scheme, it works with intelligent Octopus Go, but there are issues with mine.

It locks the cable in sometimes, meaning you have to switch it off at the mcb to release it, on Saturday night I had to go out quickly so stopped the car charging on the car, when I got back and went to put it back on charge it was effectively dead, wouldn't communicate with the Indra or Octopus apps, there's also no customer support outside of Monday to Friday 9to5, don't know if it's software or hardware, but the quality is not good.

I love my EV, but in all honesty I wish I'd got a different charger, I can't recommend Indra.

***Update to original review following Indra reply***

There has still been no explanation as to why my charger failed last weekend, I have no idea if it will happen again, is it a software or a hardware problem?

To reply to Indra the reason the charger is currently locked is because I am currently away from home, I do not leave it available if I'm not there to use it.
Indra please actually reply to my concerns and I may be tempted to adjust my review.

To anyone thinking of using Indra then please learn from my experience, personally I think that the customer service has been rotten from Indra.

****Update ****
Spoke to Indra today, apparently the kit is working fine and to talk to octopus, the charger won't even boost charge so I'm doubtful that my car will be charged overnight, I've contacted octopus too, I'm expecting to be sent back to Indra.

****UPDATE 16th April 2026***
Indra installed a new charger that was working perfectly, until last night, it seems to no longer communicate which was the problem with the first charger, this is a deeply depressing situation.
If I worked for Indra I'd be worried for the companies future, the failure rate is appalling.

It is important that you unlock the charger to allow Octopus to connect and charge with the car, as if you've locked it, there is no way for the car or Octopus to work. Teething problems?

After only a few days my new Indra charger went offline and I couldn’t get it back online despite following the written instructions.
A fairly brief call with Jack and following his clear has now resolved the issue.

Indra took all the worries away.

Indra took all the worries and work from me. They did everything, from arranging an installer, arranging with National Grid to uprate my incoming main fuse, and then following up to increase my charging speed when National Grid had completed their work. I DID ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING! At every stage Mitch was there to answer questions, and liaise with the installer, and National Grid. I can't recommend their services enough.

Sleek device with good customer support

I've had a really good experience with an RMA with support throughout the whole process. Replacement working as it should and friendly service over the phone and email. The charger in itself (Smart Lux) has a small profile suited to our needs and is quite smart. The App is quite basic in functionality but does the basics well.

5 stars for customer service

The Indra product has been pretty reliable - not perfect, but we would rate it well compared to other chargers we've experienced. It recently did go offline for no apparent reason and it turned out that it needed to be reconnected to our Wifi, which was done remotely via the Indra app. Although I had to wait a few minutes to get through to customer service, once I got through, Jack was a model of calm professionalism. He talked me through how to get the charger working again, step by step. It was a fairly quick process too, of around 5 mins. It's a refreshing change to receive such great customer service and to speak with a specialist who clearly knows their stuff and isn't just reading from a script. Definitely makes us feel we have chosen the right product. Thank you!

Endlessly Frustrating - Constant Reboots & Unbelievably Poor Support

My experience with the Indra EV charger has been awful from day one. The unit needs to be rebooted and reconnected to the internet almost every single time I want to charge my car. Instead of a simple plug-and-go system, I’m stuck doing a full reset routine like it’s ancient technology.

What makes this so much worse is the customer service, which in my experience has been slow, unhelpful, and completely dismissive. After repeatedly reporting the issue over the last year, their “solution” was literally to give me the username and password for the installer app so I could try to sort out the problem myself. For a product at this price point, that response was honestly unbelievable. However, I have perceived but made contact a number of days ago, as I have finally had enough and am met with poor responses days apart.

Nothing about this charger has been convenient, reliable, or supported properly. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend Indra to anyone. If I could give zero stars, I would.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties with your Indra charger. Our customer success team always do their utmost to try and support every customer with their issues. We do need to point out, though, that we are the manufacturer of the charger, and many of the connectivity issues and technical problems are within the remit of the installation company or your internet provider. Our team will willingly do all they can to support you and try to resolve the issue; however, some problems require a third party to be involved. We can see that all our current tickets are in the process of being dealt with, so we can assure you that it will be resolved shortly. We sincerely hope you have a fully functioning charger very soon.

Fantastic Problem Solving Abilities.

After over a year without any issues, we finally had an issue with our charger being offline. This did not impact charging just the ability to change schedules.

I liaised with Andy on my charger being offline. Andy was patient and provided guidance as to how to resolve. When this did not work Andy continued to work through the problems and located the issue. He was able to resolve at his end and now the charger is back to perfect working order.

I would feel extremely confident in Indras ability to resolve issues in the future.

The support line was busy, but Lucian was great 😊

The support line was very, very busy and l assume very understaffed to deal with the volume of calls. l had to be ultra patient and waited an hour for my call to be answered. However, once in, the help l received from Lucian was brilliant. He was friendly, understanding and keen to resolve my issue and get me connected.

Very Satisfied

I had reported this problem on a Sunday and the reply from Zendesk was a little confusing as to the personal info required. Perhaps the website (or Zendesk) needs an update

Speaking to Amanda on Monday however soon got the problem sorted out and I am once again a very satisfied customer.

Hope this is the end of my Frustration

Had a visit on the 18th from James from Fusion Electrics whom have recently taken on Indra service calls. James was honest in saying he was learning as he went on but was very capable.

It was a Wi-Fi dongle that Indra had sent not a 5G dongle as originally thought. Had problems connecting to my Wi-Fi until I moved one of my eero 6 extenders into the garage to be closer to the charger. Now have to fork out £100 for and additional extender for my office. Glad to say that the charger is working fine right now but still happy with the way it works, charging a bit then stopping for a long time as it re-schedules itself, say be ready by 5.00pm it will charge for 2 hours then stop, schedule says next charge at 4.30pm till 6.30pm cant be right. Using the Volvo App.

Straight forward and helpful solution to my problem.

Helpful and patiently helped me to restore the Indra app after I accidentally uninstalled it from my mobile. My technical knowledge is very limited, and the help I needed was there when I needed it, Thank you Alice.

Brilliant I spoke to Jack at Indra very…

Brilliant I spoke to Jack at Indra very helpful and friendly and whilst I could get exactly what I was after Jack provided out of the box thinking to solve my problem/dilemma, I imagine a permanent solution would be come available in the future hopefully not that far into the future.
As I mentioned to Jack I do feel that Indra could and should support OCPP so that it could be controlled locally if not linked to energy providers smart controls or at least to view charger information which would help if any fault finding is necessary or just having a Home Assistant integration would be helpful and also open you up to a world of other customers.

Thanks again this is one of the reasons I’m investing in a second charger thank you.

Edit: Due to some of the companies used to do installs/service calls I’ve cancelled the order for the second charger as I believe there is a failure in this area from my own experience! So one start deducted

Called customer service team as I had a technical issue and the guy on the phone knew is product as he had a solution and a back up plan if that didn't work. Just brilliant and I wasn't waiting that long to get sorted.

I had changed my WiFi router

I had changed my WiFi router, and my Indra Pro wouldn’t reconnect. The instructions on the Indra app ( help section are wrong). I called customer support….Amanda at Indra was excellent, she sorted out the issue in minutes ( she really knew her stuff 👏🏼). Next step is to update your help section with all the info / steps Amanda gave me over the phone…, 5⭐️s for Amanda.

Waiting for installer and unsure if problem will be resolved.

On 3rd Indra Pro - well still waiting for 3rd installation after months of errors. Who is the installer? So difficult to get through on the phone - e.g 17 in line 😱

28 Nov. Issue still not resolved. Date given by Indra as per the reply below but the date has been put back several weeks. So the issue has still not been resolved even though Indra replied to say it had. I do have a new date so that much is true.
Also Indra keeps saying the issue is with an external company - which I understand- but I can only deal with Indra.

We don't have installers in-house and are dependent on other companies for this service. As I was tenth in the queue

As I was tenth in the queue, I pressed 2 for call back. Jack was extremely helpful and got my EV working again. I was dreading making the call as I am a bit low tech. However, Jack was excellent.
