I'm just back from a fabulous trip to the Dolomites with Inntravel. I've been using the company for many years, and their model is great... They sort all the logistics, carefully select venues, and curate the walking routes (with directions or GPX). It's all organised and optimised for a great trip. But there is freedom to walk on your own, at times of your choosing, with variations as you see fit - making the walking as challenging or easy as you wish. Group trips are not for me, but a well-organised trip with friends, family or solo is just the thing.

This holiday was a great mix of beautiful mountains and fantastic coastlines with 3 nights tacked on the end in the fabulous Bilbao.
Covadonga lakes were great and the area around the gorge was spectacular . we took the funicular up to the top
The hotel don paco in Llanes was excellent and in Bilbao .the hotel Tayko was amazing
Guggenheim museum took 5 hours and was well worth doing
The only restaurant in Mestas was Casa Maria - luckily it was great with huge portions and cheap prices

The hike itself was fabulous. The Tour du Mont Blanc is absolutely stunning. We were not impressed with Inntravel as a service company. Throughout the planning process, I emailed Inntravel several times. I always immediately received a response saying they were busy and would get back to me in 3 days. I never had a response from any e-mail. They were lovely when I talked to them on the phone, but would have preferred email communication. The transfer information in the booklet was often wrong and resulted in us having to take expensive taxis to our starting points.

We loved the Iconic Norway by Fjord Cruise & Rail. It is a very well designed trip with the highlight for us being the Lofoten Islands. The rest of the trip, however, was also good and was a lovely way of travelling through Norway and seeing some of the many highlights. All the accommodation was of a high standard and the rail/boat arrangements were all spot on. Inntravel organised everything very well, were very responsive to any questions and the trip notes were excellent.

What a lovely place the Isle of Man is. It was nice to get away from the heat at home as the temperature there was 22°, sunny ever day with a slight sea breeze. Perfect for walking. The walks were probably a bit harder than we thought but that's probably down to being older! We booked an extra day and went to see the Laxey Water Wheel which is amazing and got the mountain train up to Snaefell. The public transport is good and varied. Buses, electric train, steam train and mountain train. We used them all. The hotel was very good and we upgraded to a sea view which was well worth the money. Everything on the island is very clean and cared for and the people are lovely.

We have been on a number of Inntravel and all have lived up to expectations. Our latest trip involved a journey around Copenhagen, Gothenberg, Stockholm and Helsinki. As always the hotels were ideally located and suited our needs as a base for exploring, starting with excellent breakfasts. We had two train journeys and an overnight boat trip through the Swedish archipelago to Helsinki. These journeys were comfortable and went relatively smoothly. There was one issue with buses replacing trains for part of the Gothenberg to Stockholm leg but after asking a few people we managed to sort that out pretty quickly. The notes and recommendations for places to visit and eat were first class and we managed to walk around all the cities following the suggested routes.

An excellent walking week in the Black Forest. A very good selection of hotels, excellent food together with well planned and easy to follow routes made for a very enjoyable week. Good planning as usual by Inntravel, great accompanying notes and recommendations along with smooth luggage transfers. We were also fortunate to be in Frieburg for their annual wine festival!

Inntravel Walking Holiday in Ibiza/Formentera. May 2026.

Grade 1-2. Definitely not easy or suitable for occasional walkers as stated. It was made plain it needed to be as I was recovering from cancer and we were in our 70’s. Really disappointed.

No paper instructions. Requested twice but not received until days before leaving. No apologies

The instructions were completely wrong at times and had not been updated to the changes on route and vegetation growth. One of the routes given was so dangerous, you couldn’t follow it. On investigation, other people had found this route unsuitable too.

Ibiza agritourismo was very good. The hotel in Formentera was lovely but my room over the bar and kitchen was very noisy early morning and late at night.

Avoid. I would not recommend.

We had an excellent week in Hotel la Perla in Ortisei. Spectacular scenery and buying a 6 day pass for telecabins, funiculars etc made access easy. Some areas very busy, and some walks very short, but possible to find quieter routes, and build in extensions. The taxi shuttle from the hotel works very well. Food excellent ( half board included "cakes" in the afternoon but was more like a mini lunch!) Lovely heated indoor and outdoor pools. Hotel staff very helpful and pleasant.
Only minor flaw was trying to check in online with SkyAlps - you can't if you fly to Bolzano from London or Greece....had to Google to find that out.

The Somerville is an outstanding 4 star hotel, wonderful ambiance, friendly professional service and great food! The pool and bar service is outstanding.

Have had lots of walking holidays through Inntravel - all excellent - but this was our first experience of a rail- city holiday - in Ireland

The Villa Edira made a superb base for our Quiet Side of the Italian Riviera holiday. The staff were warm and welcoming, our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and the pool provided a welcome chance to cool down after our walks.
The hotel was perfectly situated for us - away from the busyness of the Cinque Terre - but close enough for us to travel there easily on the train. The trains were frequent and mercifully air conditioned.
Inn Travel provided all the information we needed in a timely manner and answered all of our questions. Booking was stress free.

Our self guided hiking holiday with InnTravel ‘Pyrenees Mountains to the Atlantic Coast’ was excellent. Well selected routes, with options most days, taking in wonderful mountain scenary, deciduous woodland and rivers. Characterful hotels in pretty villages were mostly excellent with good food and comfortable rooms. Both written hike details and gpx files made navigation straightforward. Organisation and responsiveness to questions was generally very good.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a mixture of moderate / challenging hikes.

Just got back from Inntravel’s classic Norway by rail trip. Everything was well organised from start to finish. The hotels were lovely & in good locations. All the rail & ferry arrangements worked perfectly. The information provided beforehand was comprehensive & helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the scenery.

We stayed at the most magical of places in Ortisei, Italy. Hotel La Perla is a wonderful sanctuary with amazing food, wonderful and attentive service, and a gorgeous property.
The Inntravel staff worked with us after significant flight delays and coordinated a late-night taxi pick-up in Bolzano. We were so grateful to have made it to Hotel La Perla after our travel nightmare, albeit hours late. I cannot thank Inntravel and Taxi Stefan enough for making this happen.
The detailed information from Inntravel was helpful in guiding our daily decision making.
This was the most resortative, active vacation I've taken. I cannot recommend Hotel La Perla and Inntravel more highly.

Excellent walks as described. Very good instructions and GPX. Comfortable hotels and very good food, including provision for vegetarians.

We have done the Dordogne Extended hike twice and loved both experiences. It is a hike through the countryside and old villages that have preserved their historic character. The stays are in small hotels that provide high-end dining. A/C rooms and pools are available at many places. Hoteliers go out of their way to help clients. We did the recent trip during the period of excessive heat and were helped by hotels by getting rides that shortened the day’s hike. Late check-outs and early check-ins were accommodated because of the changes we made to the hike schedule due to heat.

InnTravel provides excellent service and provides a binder with all the information you need to make your way through the trip. We’ve made 6 trips with InnTravel and have received help during the trip on a couple of occasions when the need arose. Our transport providers have always been on-time and in the expected meeting location. And I especially like that most days have options for the route to be hiked with good descriptions and terrain profiles to compare.

What an excellent holiday with top class accommodation and food. La Perla hotel was superb and the staff so friendly and helpful. The scenery was awe-inspiring and the walking routes and guides so easy to follow. Inntravel have come up trumps again

The service with this company has been awful. From start to finish we had nothing but misinformation. Train times and cancellations were not reported to us. We had to ask for tickets to be amended because of incorrect details. We were sent tickets for other customers. Very poor customer service. Never spoke to the same person about a query. The trip was good but a specific cable car was closed at least a month before we travelled and this impacted one of the route. Our Euro star to Paris had been cancelled two days before we travelled. Inntravel didn’t tell us.

I booked an Inntravel walking holiday with Trailfinders to Lake Constance. Trailfinders handled the finance side and the admin via their individualised Trailhub web pages.
This mostly worked ok with the exception of two essential travel vouchers which didn’t appear. After I chased several times, one voucher but not the other - a boat journey - was provided by the time we departed on the trip.
The journey turned into an obstacle course - cancelled UK trains, delayed flight, damaged luggage, more cancelled trains in Switzerland and finally a hotel which wasn’t expecting us. None of this was Inntravel or Trailfinders fault, but when you arrive at your destination you need to recover from this type of stress, and rapidly when your holiday only lasts for a week. As it was, we were confronted by further obstacle courses of a) making a damaged luggage claim (always likely to be a thankless task) and b) chasing the missing travel voucher.
But I did so and the situation was resolved just in time, but only partially as it turned out. The new voucher took the form of a letter with reference number and the boat pilot wanted a printed copy. Eventually we managed to resolve this via a phone airdrop but a paper copy should have either been provided to us, or at least the requirement made clear.
Trailfinders apologised from the agent’s perspective, stating that I could give them feedback after the holiday, and that I would also get the chance to do so with Inntravel. On the face of it, the voucher issue was probably an Inntravel matter since Trailfinders would be unlikely to have the detailed product knowledge of what was required.
As for the rest of the trip - hotels were very good (Constance), outstanding (Uberlingen) and run of the mill (Bodman).
The walk route instructions were excellent, in particular the city tour of Constance which was like being in a guided tour. However the designation of the trip as Grade 1 is overly optimistic, in respect of the paths from Ludwigshafen to Sipplingen and from Sipplingen to Uberlingen. If you’re promising massive views over the lakes, chances are that there will be significant hills to get there, and so it proved.
There also seemed to be a decent lakeside path from Uberlingen towards Nussdorf which would be a genuine grade 1 and didn’t get a mention.
After the trip, the feedback opportunity to Inntravel doesn’t seem to have materialised so this is the feedback.Surprisingly for a company which emphasises customer service, this trip seems to have gone below their radar. Or maybe it was never on their radar in the first place?

The reply from Inntravel lays responsibility for problems squarely with their agent Trailfinders. Which raises the question: is anything being done to prevent future travellers experiencing the same problems?
For example, if Inntravel expects Trailfinders to distribute questionnaires on its behalf, what will be done to ensure that this happens? If Inntravel produces vouchers which look like covering letters, why not head them ‘To be printed for redemption’ or similar. For a customer service oriented company, the approach seems quite negative.
