I opened up my self directed IRA and…
I opened up my self directed IRA and all the individuals at IRA Financial have been very patient with me. I have erred several times with documents and they have remained professional and have answered my questions in a timely fashion. I'm so looking forward to having this account and being able to direct my own investments. My financial advisor tried to freak me out about withdrawing funds from my account, but all has gone as expected.

Might be a scam; look elsewhere.
I begin to wonder if the company is a scam. Customer service is near non-existent. Try for yourself -- call the 800 number and pick anything other than "new account." The phone will ring forever, no answer, no voicemail, nothing. The online chat is similar, sometimes I get an answer 10 minutes later. They give various excuses as to why the account isn't funded yet; the last one was "maybe your financial institution mailed the rollover check to the wrong address because we did move a few years ago." Seriously? I provided my bank with the forms IRA Financial provided, which clearly list the address.
This company is a joke. Look elsewhere and save yourself the frustration.

I just got off the phone with Becky Scifo - she was great. Why? Not only was she patient with me, she had the knowledge and capacity to handle my issue. So many times I hesitate to call any customer service number - but sometimes I have no other choice - after my conversation with Becky - I would not only grab the phone to call again instead of wasting time trying to figure something out- I'm going to tell people to use IRA Financial if they want real people with real customer service skills. Thank you!

Trouble logging into my account so I had to call support - which I think I hate more than the dentist but Macey K made it a breeze.

Initial Frustrations
I definitely had some initial frustrations with lack of responses and extremely slow responses. I understood from Cindy that this was just poor timing. I was trying to get things wrapped up and it was 'tax' time. She was very kind and extremely helpful and responsive from that point forward and changed the experience. I then worked with Jenn for the next steps with the entity and checking account setup. Again, this was a very positive and helpful experience. I appreciate the staff and the customer service that they each provided. I am now excited again. Thank you for your efforts. They were noticed.
