Macbook and Moove USB Hub

Bought a brand new Macbook and Moove usb adaptor from istore online, after using it two days the usb hub is so hot I booked an appointment and took it in for testing. Their response is theres nothing wrong with it. If I want a replacement or refund I must lose 20% of the purchase price. And if I want them to see how hot it gets at my home I must bring into the store my Macbook, Monitor, headphones, webcam and mouse. Really!? Do you think I took time off on a Sat to come in because the usb hub is not getting hot??

Apple is the best, but istore is not!
Takealot would have collected the item and refunded me in a heartbeat. But for istore I have to drive to the store on my day off and then be told theres nothing wrong with it.

I wonder who takes responsibility when it damages my Macbook!?

Just use Takealot you will never be treated like this!

Poor Planning and Worse Communication at iStore Rosebank

I had a very disappointing experience with iStore Rosebank Mall regarding a battery replacement for my iPhone 13 Pro.

Yesterday morning the 29th December 2025 at around 09:00, I made an online appointment for today the 30th December 2025 at 10:00 at iStore Rosebank Mall. The booking went through successfully. To avoid any issues, I also phoned the store yesterday to confirm the cost, the process, and the turnaround time. I was clearly told that the battery replacement would take approximately one to two hours and that I would receive my phone on the same day.

Based on that confirmation, I planned my day accordingly.

Today, at 09:30 — only 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment — I received a call from Kutlwano informing me that they do not have battery stock for the iPhone 13 Pro. I was then told that I could still bring the phone in for diagnostics, but the process would take up to five days.

This is completely unacceptable.

If the store did not have stock, this should have been checked and communicated before confirming appointments and certainly not 30 minutes before a customer arrives. Kutlwano stated that she was only checking today’s bookings this morning, which raises serious concerns about basic operational planning and professionalism.

I also emailed yesterday at 09:00 and only received a response at the last minute, once again showing poor communication and disregard for customers’ time.

The issue is not just stock availability — it is the lack of proactive communication, poor planning, and last-minute notification after clear assurances were given that the phone would be repaired on the same day.

This experience wasted my time and caused unnecessary inconvenience. I expect much better organisation and customer service from an Apple-authorised service provider.

Very disappointed with iStore Rosebank Mall.

Deceptive marketing practice

Ordered a new iPad with Wifi + Cellular. Turns out even though it is advertised as Cellular you cannot place or receive phone calls.

I must be at fault here as it was communicated so clearly that the "Cellular" just means you can access data but not even register Whatsap.

Dont bother using these people as they clearly dont shy away from deception for sales.

Terrible Customer Service - Very Disappointed

I'm really frustrated with the service I got from iStore Online, and honestly, I expected so much better from a premium Apple reseller.
I applied for a contract 10 business days ago and all I got back was a generic email that told me to wait 7 business days. After waiting that long, I decided to call them to find out what's going on with my application.
I waited in the queue, and when I finally got through to someone, they were absolutely no help. The agent just told me to wait another 7 days - no explanation, no checking my application, nothing. It felt like they couldn't care less about helping me.
When I asked to speak to a manager or have this escalated, guess what? They hung up on me. Just disconnected the call. I couldn't believe it.
This is supposed to be a premium retailer, but the service was honestly shocking. The agent showed zero effort to actually help or even pretend to care about my situation. Being hung up on when asking for help? That's just disrespectful.
I've got recordings of the whole conversation and when they hung up on me, so I know exactly what happened.
I'm seriously reconsidering ever buying from iStore Online again. If this is how they treat customers, I'll take my business elsewhere. Really disappointing experience all around.

Incompetent, lazy or arrogant: take your pick

I visited the Rosebank iStore to purchase airpod tips. An istore staff member said that i should order it but that they cant take my order now as they are too busy (shop was fairly empty). Instead, i must come back another day to place my order. Good service would have been to take my details down and call me to take the order when they were availability to do so. Why should i make a second tip to the store just to place an order. Is this arrogance, incompetence or just laziness. I will never purchase anything from the Rosebank i Store.

Extremely disappointing service at iStore Tygervalley

I recently visited the iStore at Tygervalley and was met with some of the worst retail service I’ve experienced in a long time. When I arrived, the entire staff team was gathered in a huddle chatting — no one assisting customers. I had to interrupt them just to get help.

When I finally spoke to someone about upgrading my contract, I was given a list of excuses — “the system is slow,” “you can’t upgrade now,” “rather come back tomorrow while everyone is at work.” This was just 30 minutes before closing time.

I escalated the issue to the manager, but instead of listening, he brushed off my concerns and became defensive about why they couldn’t assist me. The overall attitude in the store felt apathetic, as though customer service simply isn’t a priority.

Very disappointing experience — I expect much better from a brand like iStore.

Bad attitude and no service

I booked an appointment online to replace the battery in my iPhone12 Pro. I provided the serial number. Instead of either a) getting in the part or b) calling me to let me know they needed to get it in, they just waited for me to turn up. The person serving me lied about calling me to tell me and there was this eff you attitude, leave your phone here for three to five days. I walked out and will never be back. Fortunately I have the option of another service provider. I wonder if Apple know that iStore is damaging the brand.

Istore Scam

Don’t shop with istore via China! I made a purchase, they set you up with a phony tracking number from which you can follow to delivery, but NO Delivery! The shipping took 32 days, I advised that there was no delivery then tell you that it’s your responsibility to trace the purchase, no refund as they say it has been delivered! All a illaberate phony setup made to look legitimate but it’s all a scam!

iphone went from being easier to use to harder because of the new update,yes it may please some people but as you ger users ,we are complaining ,its all over tiktok how to go back to the ios 18.7 ane we hope for a change or downgrade button not even that just a new update that looks more like the 18.7 and works faster

Apple does not care!

I have literally been trying to find out if they have stock to replace my iPhone battery for about 3 weeks. Don't let them fool you, the do not actually offer this service. I have emailed them, sent Whatsapp messages and tried calling them. No response. You cannot phone the Cresta store and the simply ignore all other channels. You will hear via chat it's been escalated but just never actually hear from them.

I have been a very loyal Apple fan for the better part of 2 decades, the lack of customer service, I will now start migrating to Samsung...

Apple / iStore ahs lost everything that made them special...

Again after 3 months same experience…

Again after 3 months same experience wanted to buy hard case for MacBook and 2 representatives were busy with customers . I requested if some one can be free for few minutes so that I can pay and leave no body bothered . I can understand busy with customers but waiting time for customer to pay and not sensitive enough needs improvement .

Pathetic customer service at iStore Cape Gate

On January 10th, I upgraded my current contract with Telkom at the iStore. Initially, I visited the store on January 9th, 2025, to upgrade my contract but noticed there were additional charges of R920 pending. I then went to a Telkom store, where I was advised to complete the upgrade by 15:25. I returned to the iStore around 4 pm, but the R920 charge was still present. I left the store without my current iPhone at that time, which I was going to trade in, and returned the next day, January 10th. However, I faced the same issue with the R920 extra charge. Despite this, I decided to proceed with the contract upgrade. When the debit order was processed, the R920 charge was deducted alongside my monthly contract fee. I then visited a different Telkom branch, and the feedback I received was:"
"Please note that when you are doing a renewal on the renewal date the system does not charge the customer. If an agent does replace offer instead of renewal the system will charge the customer device obligation carryover for the remaining months.
As per the case you stated that customer was due for an upgrade 09.01.2025 15:17 , upgrade was initially done 2025/01/10 11:45:51 AM.
Please note that the customer is charged 460*2=R920 for the remaining months.
The agent that has done the replace offer needs to provide a credit memo so that the billing department can credit R920.00 on the customer’s
I personally visited the Cape Gate branch to request the contact details of the regional manager or someone senior to Erin (the store manager). Unfortunately, I was met with unhelpful behavior and vague promises. Jade informed me that my concern was “too petty” for the regional manager to address and advised me to contact talk2us@istore instead.

While Melissa did respond once or twice—after I followed up with a reminder—I have since been completely ignored. Additionally, the Telkom branch in Zevenwacht attempted to contact Erin via email, but he has not responded to them either.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received. The lack of communication and the disrespect I've experienced have been deeply upsetting. I trust that iStore does actually live up to this motto as stated on their website "We aim to handle complaints quickly, effectively and in a fair and honest way. We take all complaints seriously and use valuable information from investigating."

We don’t care at iStore.

Last week was told I’d get about R4k for my old iPad Pro as trade in pending inspection. Yesterday at 12:15 arrived at store and informed sales person (no name but long white nails) that I’ll be wanting my old iPad inspected … I also ordered 1 x iPad Pro, 1 x iPad Air, 2 x Pencil Pro … for myself and my wife. Sales person, white nails, said that she will get everything ready for 1pm … got back to store at 1pm. Old iPad was inspected and only offered R900. Rather keep it. My order was not ready and sales person could not be found. Oh, well I guess business at iStore Somerset Mall is too good. Won’t be back there … oh just to add I’ll be upgrading my MacBook Pro in Q 3 of this year. Best I do that online as well.

Battery Replacement

I took my phone in to have the battery replaced. Before taking it in, I confirmed with the technician that the phone would retain it's IP68 rating - which they confirmed in an email. Following the repair, the phone got wet and there was water ingress. The phone is broken and Apple refuse to accept responsibility. They simply say they followed guidelines, but refuse to answer why, if it is IP68 compliant, there was water ingress. The phone was submerged in water to about 0.5m. On the Apple site, they advertise that IP68 covers up to 6m for 30 minutes.

I would strongly recommend not making use of Apple South Africa as they don't care at all about their customers and lie about what they can achieve.

Useless team

On the 23rd of November, I made an online order for a macbook, and then cancelled the order on the 24th of November because I found a better model.

I communicated telephonically, via email and via WhatsApp and they acknowledged the cancellation on the 25th of November.
They then proceeded to process the order anyway, and I received a message saying I should expect delivery the next day.

I then called and emailed again, then even filled an online return form, and was told that they would cancel the order and apologized, and that the refund would be processed in 10-14 business days.

10-14 business have passed and I still haven’t gotten my refund.

This morning I called their customer care line, and apparently their system shows that the order was delivered successfully and as such have not even began the process of my refund.

I am told that I must wait another 10-14 business for my refund (that’s if it was even processed this time)

I am very disappointed by this service and overall incompetency of iStore South Africa.

Will not buy from them ever again, nor wil family and friends

I preordered an m4 MacBook Pro from, later cancelled they Oder, now they are struggling to refund me even after numerous attempts to talk to them.
Handed over the issue to my lawyer.
The online team is useless, WhatsApp team even worse. Most arrogant team ever. They keep saying my refund is stuck somewhere with finance. I’ll Just buy apple products from amazon, I will never ever in my life buy from them and will spread the massage to family and friends. They are so unprofessional and don’t take their customers seriously at all.
