The only time I ever write a review is if something has been particularly bad or unusually good. In the case of K9 Control I have been slow to respond with a review because I wanted to find the right words to express adequately my admiration for what Rob has achieved for me and my dog in less time even than he predicted.

By the way of background, I adopted a hound, assessed as being about 2 years old, being offered for rescue and rehoming by an English run charity operating in Spain. I called him Biscuit.

When the poor creature arrived with me, he was terrified of everything (even the sight of a bucket of water, though he was very thirsty, reduced him to a quivering wreck). He was stick thin with his ribs and backbone shockingly exposed. He obviously had been abused as well as starved.

Each time over his first two weeks I allowed him freedom within the hitherto dog escape-proof garden he would find a way out and would howl at the new world he was experiencing. He had zero recall. I began to despair that I would ever have any control over him. Without such control, he would inevitably and quickly come to harm.

When I walked Biscuit with my two other dogs, I had to keep him on a lead, knowing that if I did not he would be far away and lost in no time at all. He was/is very scent motivated. He pulled so strongly that I was like one of those handlers of bloodhounds in American prison escape movies who have to lean back at 45° just to keep control. On three separate occasions I was pulled off my feet.

Biscuit was especially terrified of men, so Rob had to work to reassure him and to build up his confidence. I had some initial reservations about the use of an E collar. I had wrongly assumed that it was as subtle as a taser. This was completely false. Rob explained that the transmitter unit has a scale of intensity from 0 to 99. When I was holding it in my hand, I did not feel any sensation until it was set at 20. The usual setting I have used in training, and since, is for the collar to be a gentle reminder set at only 14.

Our first two training sessions were in a large enclosed space within the K9 building. Biscuit quickly became used to remaining close by my side even when I changed or reversed direction. At the start of our third lesson, Rob took us out to an open field. Biscuit immediately picked up the scent of deer, fox and rabbit. The original dog would have run off and been lost within seconds, but he responded to Rob's recall. By the end of that hour he was completely under control, remaining with me at all times, no matter what exciting smells were tempting him elsewhere.

The result of just three hours of training with Rob is that I have a totally transformed dog. It is joyous to see how happy and confident Biscuit has become. On our daily walks in a variety of countryside Biscuit runs off the lead with his friends. He is seldom out of sight, but he always returns when I call him. I still put the collar on him as a precaution, but I never need to use it now. I shall probably soon dispense with it altogether.

I never believed that such changes would be possible - never mind in such a short time. I think Rob is an absolute genius.

My dog was very aggressive towards other dogs, he went in for the kill. I was to scared to walk him because he’s very strong & has pulled me over when he saw a dog. Rob assessed him & said he really did mean it 🙈 But 5 sessions later my dog walks on a lose lead by my side & today we took him to a very busy dog walking place & my dog didn’t react at all ☺️🎉

K9 Control have done an excellent job teaching us how to help our dog. They didn't just train her—they gave us the knowledge and confidence to continue the training ourselves. She is now happy, walks beautifully on her lead, and no longer barks at other dogs when we're out. The difference in her behaviour has been incredible, and we've learned so much about how to communicate with and support her. We couldn't be happier with the results and would highly recommend K9 Control to anyone looking for effective, supportive dog training.

We absolutely love coming to training sessions. They are honest, practical and effective. We have learned something new every single time and we see major progress after each training session. Trainings have massively helped our dogs but also us - humans. The importance of human confidence in dog handling is so underrated!

It was Snoopy and my first experience of a pack walk and we were - ok, so I was nervous. Everyone was so lovely and supportive though - both the trainers and other dog walkers and it was an incredibly helpful and developmental experience for both Snoopy and myself. I will definitely be going on more of these walks as I already feel more confident managing Snoops on them and he responded brilliantly - realising that all was ok - even with dogs in front and behind him. Thanks Rob!

After initial one to one training for aggressive issues after illness we have now moved onto group intensive training. This has proven to be extremely beneficial for me & my dog. I’ve gained confidence & my dog is flying she’s happy & so incredibly interested in the training, it’s amazing to have come from where we were to this in such a short period of time, I never thought it would be possible let alone both of us actually enjoying it. The team at K9 understand dogs at an entirely different level enabling you & your dog to succeed every step of the way, they never make you feel stupid & totally support you through every single step. Honestly if you’re having issues or need help contact this team you will not regret it, I can not recommend them enough.

Rob has been incredible. We are now able to take Percy on long walks without him pulling and running off. Before I was getting injuries regularly and at time it would be embarrassing as he would never listen or obey commands. Still have some work to do but I can honestly say these past 5 weeks 1 on 1 have been worth it.

Knows his job, a very positive experience

Rob at K9 control is the best trainer for dogs who are struggling for any reason. He understands the behaviour aspect like no one else.
I’ve been to so many other “dog trainers” and I’ve wasted a lot of money and effort when in just 1 - 2 sessions at K9 control and I had a completely different dog.
I recommend K9 control to absolutely anyone who needs that guidance and support.
Rob at K9 control helps you every step of the way.
I would also like to add, as much as Rob is an incredible trainer, you as the owner need to put the work in to ensure your dog learns and adapts to become a better all rounded dog.

Words cannot fully express our immense gratitude to K9 Control. After adopting our dog, we were told that due to her reactivity we probably would likely never be able to walk her near other dogs or people, however we were determined to seek help for her and give her the best life possible.
After spending several months with another trainer, we realised their methods simply weren’t working, in fact her reactivity worsened, leaving us feeling increasingly anxious about walking her and worried that she might have to spend her life in isolation.
Feeling desperate we were fortunate to find Rob at K9 Control, from the very beginning he reassured us that our dogs behaviour could be improved and clearly outlined a realistic timeline for the process. Although we were initially sceptical, we knew we had to try everything we could to get her the help she desperately needed.
Over the following weeks Rob carefully structured her training by gradually introducing her to controlled situations, this included working around other dogs, livestock and bicycles, as well as improving her lead control. Each step was thoughtfully planned to help to build her confidence without overwhelming her.
Rob is exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable with a calm and reassuring approach, every session felt tailored to our dogs needs and we were never rushed. (Special thanks also to Stacey for all her hard work and valuable advice on nutrition and overall dog health).
Within the short timeframe provided the transformation has been remarkable, our dog can now walk calmly to heal both on and off the lead and is able to tolerate other dogs, people and bicycles.
We are genuinely amazed as we never believed this would be possible even passers by now comment on how well behaved she is and walks have become an enjoyable experience rather than a stressful ordeal.
We have since started a next level training course with K9 Control which continues to be very well structured. In all honesty we cannot thank K9 Control enough, not only have you given our dog a far better life, but you have also given us our lives back.
We will be forever grateful for everything you have done.

We have been to puppy classes where we were shut in a kitchen, rather than in the hall with the other dogs. Then another group where we got told it wasn’t working and to not come back. This was all before he was 7 months old. Then we went to another well known trainer, who although we made some initial progress with didn’t give me any real life confidence. Now we have started with K9 Control, I can see life improving for us both. Not only have we found a trainer to help, but also a community, with the pack walks, that help support each other.

Absolutely the best training you’re going to get & the follow up support and walks are amazing. You honestly won’t find better, I tried others they failed epically & cost a fortune Rob & team really care about the dog 1st & getting you working together perfectly.

We greatly valued Rob's very extensive canine knowledge, effective training abilities and his general positive attitude throughout. Our dog, Teddy, is now remarkably calm compared with how he was pre-training. These days, we can have peaceful evenings in, without having to deal with almost constant barking and whining for no apparent reason. Also, Teddy no longer resource guards aggressively, which had become a big problem. During the training process, we could see the balance of power gradually changing in Teddy's mind until he now accepts us leader of the pack. Thank you so much, Rob!

Our appointment was very informative, re dietary issues and analysing the reasons for our dogs behaviour issues . We now have a plan of how to go forward with training . Rob comes across as incredibly knowledgeable and gives outstanding advice . I would thoroughly recommend anybody to book an appointment if you are having issues

The instructor was very attentive and polite and showed me how to get my pet to stop pulling me when out walking.
